Barbs- welcome
TansRN- nice rant! I ditto it. My next scan is the nuchal scan and I don't know if you really get to see anything in that one.
Wannabeone- have you told anyone yet? a party I went to on Sat one of the girls announced and my girlfriend announced for me, I felt bad like I had taken away the girls spotlight. Oh well

Yes sick, yes tired and yes I cannot wipe the smile off my face!

Malinka-mine called it 1st trimester screening and just gave me a number to call to set it up. The only reason I know what it was was due to this sight and research. You still have time, I would call your OB and ask he might just have other tests he wants you to take.
wannabeone- when is your nuchal scan? I still have to call to make appointment.
TansRN- My boobs have already gone from a large B cup to a D cup already, so I'm also feeling very big.

malinka - i had the nuchal at 12.2 weeks. it needs to be completed before the end of the 13th week, i believe. sometimes if you are over 35, they may just ask you if you want the amnio or cvs rather than the screening. the screening gives you a 1 in ___ chance that your baby will end up with downs or another concern and with that info. you can make decisions or just know what to prepare for. not everyone does it b/c some people say that thtey will have the child regardless. for me, even if we chose to keep the baby, i would want to know what was in store 6 months from now.

I got the results today. I called from London to SF - and they were great, so I'm really happy.

Malinka - for my nuchal they took 5 droplets of blood (not tubes) and did a very high-tech 3D ultrasound to measure the fold in the back of the baby's neck.

I am not sure if they did 3D, and I don't have my blood results yet.

I know the fold was for two babies was 1.3, they say it is within the norm.

Hi ladies-
I am back from a short break. Our internet at home is dead so I have been out of the loop. I was released from my RE this week and go for my first apt with the new OB on Friday. I hope they are as wonderful as my RE's office was. I was SO sad to leave them. I am officially off my shot and my tush is happy! We are meeting with the perinatologist to discuss our options. The reduction needs to be done in the next 2 weeks and our options are looking pretty slim. As for telling ppl, we havent told many. I think we wanted to wait to see that everythig is ok after the reduction. So another 4 weeks, by then I will be nearly 4 months and we can tell the rest of the fam.
Wannabe: I know how you feel. My sis in law in expecting and when I saw her last week it was as if I forgot I was pg also and I reverted to the jealous feelings. Perhaps now I am jealous that she is having a normal stressfree pregnancy and I am figuring out how it's best to keep me and my babies healthy!
Regards to everyone else.

wannabeone- Did you get the results yet?
Malinka- Congrats on the awsome scan! Everything looks good.
rikirees- I get so gittery when I can't check this board, one time I was out for almost 3 weeks, nothing like a good addiction. COngrats on stopping the PIO, FYI, I still have major pains and deep tissues scaring from the PIO's, when I get massages I have them focus on that area and it seems to really help break up the knots. Good Luck
TanRN- Did you get the doppler yet? you must be excited.

I keep forgetting the paper with the number at home, then by the time I get home I'm too tired and they're closed. I bought a new car last night pick it up on Saturday, my poor Liberty Jeep has 98,000 miles and is about to blow up....hope it makes it to Saturday.
When I finally remember to call it'll probably be a wait, I still have 4 weeks but I don't want to wait much longer.

cool congrats, what did you buy?
As far as I know with hospitals, it is better to call at least couple of weeks in advance for an appt. However I was pretty lucky to get an appt in 5 days.
