anyone on estrogen while pregnant, risks to baby?

Hi,

I am 4w3d pregnant and my RE has me on estrogen patch 0.1mg. On the box it says do not take if pregnant. What does this mean? Does anyone know what the risks are?
Please let me know.

Tajma- I am on the patch and change it every three days. When I asked my Dr. about the warning she said it was perfectly ok for me to take it. she monitors the levels of estrogen in my blood every week so she knows when to take me off of it. She said for people who get pregnant naturally it is not safe to take, but basically because of the IVF my body doesn't produce enough naturally yet. I'm also still on the progesterone shots. Are you doing those too? Congrats on your pregnancy!!!

I was on estrogen pills for 12 weeks. Shouldn't be a problem (from my physiology text book and experience).

I am taking estrace until 10 weeks of pregnancy. 3-2xday. I am also doing the progestrone vaginal capsules, 2-3xday until 10 weeks of pregnancy. I justs helps my body out because I had FET!

I was on estrogen patches (applied once every 3 days) from the day of transfer until the eigth week of pregnancy. I was worried to entire time because I, too, had read about risks to developing fetus. I discussed with MD and he said that the risk in IVF patients was very low because the body was not making it's own yet. I continue to be monitored with my levels and all, so I am confident that everything will be ok with regard to hormone levels.
