Tia
Congrats on the twins girl! That is wonderful news! I am so happy for you that you got to see them and the heartbeats. It is really wonderful to see. Makes ya feel good. Congrats again.

Shantala
Good to hear from you! It is nice to see you around.

Hrobinson
I hope that you are doing ok and that you finaly were able to hear the news. The waiting stinks!

Well as for me, I just got the confirmation email that my doppler is coming tomorrow by three. I am thrilled by that. My boys want to hear the heartbeats really badly (as do I) and I let them listen to their own and they really get a kick out of that. We are taking them up north for the weekend for a little mini family vacation. I have been pretty sick with a cold and sore throat and all. Pretty much feeling like crap. I feel very short of breath...trying to rest all that I can any time I can and drinking plenty of OJ....I can't believe that I am this sick right now. It is freaking summer!!!! People dont get colds in the summer. I think it may be from working with sick people all the time at the hospital-the older folk cough all over me and I am thinking that is what did it this time. Oh well. One day at a time. Hope that you guys are well. Thinking about you. One last tid bit...only 15 more days until I am through the first trimester!!! WOOO HOOO!!!!

tia- you must be so excited. TWINS!!!! What wonderful news. Take good care of yourself over the next 8 months.

ltaylor- How are you doing sweetie? I hope that everyday it gets a little easier. Keeping you in my prayers.

literatriz- How much longer until you test? I am sure that you are really excited. Are you having any symptoms yet?

tanya- I can't believe the doppler is almost here. How exciting to be able to listen to the heartbeats.

Sophie- I hope all is going well with you. How is the office going?

Well, I got the official test results this morning. BFN. Not surprised at all as AF is heavy as can be. I must say the best thing for me was to do the HPT. I was so upset for a full day, and then I got over it. It was good to get over the shock on a sunday, when I could go to church and jus tbe with familly. However, it is good to have the final results now. My dr. is out of the country until the 16, then we will discuss where to go from here. I will definately do it again, just a matter of when we can schedule all the other surgeries.

again thanks for everything you guys did for me. You guys are the best.

Hey Heather,
I know how you feel as I got the same news as yours on Sunday. As you know I had not done hpts so was shocked to get bfn over the phone. I am also trying again in Aug. May be we can be cycle buddies then and get our share of BFPs. I get days when I am okay and some day I am just broken. I collect every piece of me and then get going so take one day at a time.

What surgeries are you referring to? Is it endo? I had endo too, removed in Nov 06. You can ask surgery qs also as many of us might have done it.

Lots of hugs to u and god bless

Sanya- Thank you for your response. I really am okay with the whole thing. Kind of shocking to me.
I have severe endo. Several years ago was diagnosed with stave V endo, and the dr. said it was he worst case he had ever seen in his life. If there was such a thing as stage VI endo, that is what he would have called it. They said when they opened me up it looked like super glue had been poured all over my insides. Not real pretty. It was on my diaphram, bowels, appendix, etc. I had very invasive surgery to remove this, they cut me open from hip bone to hip bone, and all the way from the bottom of my breasts straight down to my belly button. The surgery took a total of 6 hours, but they thought they got it all. Well, evidently not because it is back in full force. Granted it is now 5 years since the surgery. However, it is now back on my diaphram and goodness knows where else. They can't take anymore of my diaphram because they already took 1/3 of it. So, not sure what to do. almost seems pointless just to have them do lap. when that won't get it all.
Anyhow, so I have to go through some sort of surery to remove the endo, and then I have to undergo another surgery to get rid of my polyp that formed in the past 12 weeks.
Therefore, I will not be cycling with you in August. I will try really hard to do it again in June of 2008. I will keep an eye on you though as I know you will get a BFP. You so deserve it.

hrobinson I can sympahise with you. I have severe endo that causes me no end of probs. Can i ask have you ahd any immune treatment to back up your IVF. I have been on steroids and had IVIG and HUmira injections due to my endo mucking up my immune sytem. This is my last attempt and if this does not work i will be having a hysterectomy which my gyne says i badly need as it will be the only way that i will have any sort of quality of life. All the best with your tx next year.

Hello ladies,

I just want to say thank you so much for all your support. I just needed a few days break and am feeling a little better. I will meet with my Doctor on July 19 to discuss the next step. I will probably do another fresh cycle as we only have two frozen after this last FET cycle. So, I will probably do another transfer in September if I had to guess.

So, I’ve decided to concentrate on myself for the rest of the summer (instead of the IVF). I think I’m going to join the gym at my work so I can go on my lunch hour to work out. That way I won’t have any excuses. I’m sure I’ll be around the boards to cheer everyone on and also it’s hard to break an addiction :D

Heather-I’m so sorry for your BFN *hugs*. I’m glad you are able to look toward the future.

Literatriz-Thank you for your kind words. They were beautiful. I’m praying you get your BFP.

I forgot to add that I still haven't started AF. I stopped all medicine on Wed. Is that normal? I didn't have this with the fresh cycle. When will it start?

ITaylor when i did my fresh cycle it took 8 days for my AF to come after coming off drugs. My dr was getting concerned and asked me to do another test to make sure on day 7. Best of luck with your next tx and with your follow up.

life goes on...and on....and on....

Post by Literatriz »

Hi all,
Sorry for being so selfish this morning...my body is talking to me in ways that obliterate everything else. Thank you all for the support. I needed it badly. Now I am having headaches, food aversions and some vague nausea - but not all the time. Sometimes I feel awsome and then the idea that my little One and Two just got lost in a biochemical storm.
I could test as soon as today, actually, with good chances of a reliable result. However, because my doctor is in Brazil, I have no medical orders for a blood test. I will try to crash into the emergency room and see what happens. I am not sure I will get a doctor's appointment on Monday, right before 4th for July!!!! (forgot about that, too).
DH is so optimistic it is even scary. He says he knows I am pregnant and I am afraid of disappointing him.

OK, I won't lie: if I can't make it at the emergency room - I will buy the urine test at the supermarket!!!!

Let you know the evolving news...

Best wishes to all, Thanks for being such a wonderful group of women.
I compare you to the women that aggregate around the well in small villages, offering support and exchanging news.
Thank you very much, Literatriz

maybe not

Post by Literatriz »

Well, ladies, the test came up negative. I cried and my husband kept his hopes high. I will have to wait for the blood test, hopefully on Monday. Maybe the fertility drugs and the fact that I am a 49 perimenopausal woman played a role on my maybe-too-soon urine test. My embies were transferred on the 21. Nine days after transfer, eleven after fertilization. Too soon? Maybe. But the experience was very similar to when I bled before the past attempt...
I will try to clean my office and keep my mind out of the whole thing.
Movies - two in a row!
Best wishes to you all, Literatriz

Literatriz- Oh sweetie, please do not give up hope yet. When I did my HPT last week, my clinic told me it was still too early. You have done so well to stay positive up until now. Please do not give up hope. Wait until the blood test. Do not question the reasons why this happened. Just wait.
Sweetie, I will say a prayer for you tonight, and definatly one at church for you tomorrow. PLEASE, do not give up hope. Keep us posted on the blood work.
