Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone is doing ok. I just had to post to see if anyone else has had this. I have just had a letter from the hospital saying that my blood tests last week showed I have anaemia and have to double my iron supplements, does anyone know how long it will be before I start feeling better? (I have felt really tired for the last few weeks) I have also been sick the last few days which I think is a bug as I have got to 22 weeks without feeling sick at all.
Sorry to winge on..hopefully I will start feeling good again soon..

Hope all bumps and double bumps are developing well ( we discovered last week our bump is a he!)

Lots of love
Kirsty
xx

Hi Kirsty

Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit rough! Not sure about aneamia, other than it does make you very tired. I'm sure I've read that you will start to feel better very quickly once you start taking supplements! I'm sure the sickness is a bug or something - you'll hopefully feel as right as rain in a few days!

Hope you and baby boy bump are doing well other than that!

helenxx
Hi Kirsty,

Apparently it's the anaemia itself that's making you nauseated/sick.
I was like this for the 1st 12 weeks, then I thought it had gone, it started up again at 16 weeks, which I thought odd, but apparently it was due to having anaemia!!

Rather than take iron tablets (they made me vomit uncontrollably), I started to take excess iron in through my diet only and this worked, hope this is of some help to you.

Hope you feel better soon,
Scorry

Thanks for your replys.
Scorry now I know why I have been vomiting!! I feel better knowing it's for a reason.

Helen, Thanks for your reply too, hope all is well with your boys.
we must catch up soon. We have started decorating the baby's room..all very exciting isn't it!? I have ordered all the furniture and have bought a really cute cabbage shaped playmat which I fell in love with- sad aren't i??)

I haven't been sick since yesterday lunchtime- fingers crossed!!!

Love Kirsty
xx
Hi Kirsty

Hopefully you're on your second vomit free day now - ugh, not nice is it?? Hope the iron tablets are doing the trick and you're feeling tons better!

Nice to hear you've started your little boy's room - are you doing it all baby style or more neutral - I can't make up my mind. Is the little fella moving around a lot yet??

My two seem to be doing OK (I'm certainly getting bigger) but I can't say I've really felt them yet!! I'm sure I have but nothing so obvious yet that I can say that was definitely a baby. I'm not getting worried yet as I've read about some people not feeling anything until 22 but it is driving me mad though! You wouldn't believe that two babies wriggling about wouldn't have more of an impact!

Tony and I are off to Jersey for a few days on Thursday- this will be our last child-free break! I'm really looking forward to it. When we get back, we're going to have to seriously start doing some decorating and baby shopping - haven't brought a thing yet!

If you're around, maybe we can catch up before I go? If not, we must sort something out for when I get back!

take care of you and your little man (and the baby of course!!!! )

LOL Helen xx
Hi Helen,
have just come back from the doctors as the nausea is still here...She has signed me off work for a week!! She thinks that the anemia isn't causing the vomiting but has taken a urine sample and sent it off as it's showing protein in it?!?
I have been taking iron supplemts of 10mg a day and have been put on 325mg a day (bit of a difference!!). Hopefully with a week doing absolutly nothing I will feel better. Have to call on wednesday pm for results of tests.
She also said that I have a massive baby and couldn't believe I was only 22 weeks!!! (he is doing ok even if i'm not!!!)
I hope you have a nice time in jersey..as I am off work we could definitly catch up for a chat sometime before you go??
Lots of love
Kirsty
xxx

Hi Kirsty

Glad to hear the doctor's signed you off so you can take it easy for a week. I'm sure your results will come back fine tomorrow! Maybe it's just your big little man using up all your nutrients!

Are you free around 4ish tomorrow afternoon? Maybe we could catch up then?!

Happy resting!

Helen xx
Hi Helen,

I'll make sure i'm on line tomorrow at 4pm for a proper catch up!!
Take care of all of you!!!
Lots of love
Kirsty
xx
