Hi Sarah,

It's awful isn't it!!

The Doc put me on Gaviscon Advance, but it's not that great, and I didn't fancy carting that great big bottle about,
my sister gave me the best tip ever and I've never looked back......... Rennie Rapeze, they come in packets, taste just like refresher sweeties and the results are pretty instant, I must go through about 3 packs a week, but they work and they are safe to take.
Hope this helps, (get them from most supermarkets off the shelf)

Scorry

Hiya Sarah

Yes, I'm also suffering with the old heartburn/indegestion and have got some Gaviscon tablets which I take when it's bad. They're minty chalky things which aren't that nice but better than the heartburn!

Luv Rachel X

Sarah...and the gang!!

One other tip is to slightly raise the top end of your bed....we put two bricks up at the headboard end as it relieves the heartburn at night. I found that if you put gaviscon in the fridge it becomes easier to take as well as the tablets....and let me assure you the day after you give birth there is no more heartburn...gone like magic!!!

Aunty Nicky

Hi Sarah

I had chronic heartburn for the latter half of my pregnancy and nothing got rid of it, although Gaviscon eased it a little. I had to sleep on my back because otherwise I felt nauseous. But as Nicky said, the moment you give birth it's gone - it is one of the 1st things I noticed after I'd had my 2!

Jules

Scorry, just an update on the Rennies.
Went to Boots to buy some and the pharmacist wouldn't let me have them because I was pregnant!!!
She said that Gaviscon was the only reccommended safe solution for us pg women so I guess I'll just have to persevere.
Just thought you should know.
Happy burping
Terri
xxxx
Hi Guys,

Sorry to tell you this Terri, but that pharmacist was talking crap!!!

It quite clearly states on the reverse of the pack 'Rennie Rap-eze may be taken during pregnancy and whilst breast feeding'

Besides, when I tried the gaviscon tablets - I vomited, they tasted sooo bad!!!

Scorry

Too be honest I am on Rennies and Gaviscon - the acid so bad at night I swig the Gaviscon out the bottle....and yes it still makes me want to gag but it does seem to hold off the acid a bit longer. During the day I am on rennies Papeze which my doctor recommemed.

Love Mags
