Acupuncture

Post by fmj »

I'm on my second IVF cycle and have incorporated acupunture this time. My ET will be on Friday and I am planning to have my acupuncturist at the surgery center for the protocol right before and right after transfer. My acupuncturist also recommends going for a treatment 5 days after ET - she said it helps with implantation. Has anyone else heard this? I thought implantation takes place 2- 3 days after transfer (5dt). Does anyone think it will hurt going for a treatment 5 days after ET - to be honest, I'll need it just for stress relief! Although, if there is a chance it could have a negative effect, I'm not going to proceed. Any input on this topic would be much appreciated. Thanks!

fmj - I just went for a follow up accupuncture appointment on my 5th day past transfer. It can't negatively effect the possible pregnancy unless they put the needles in the stomach area. That's what I was told by my accupuncturist. He only put needles in my ears, head and feet. It did help a lot with the cramping I was having.

I hope this helps.

Hi Rachel -

Thanks - I think I'm going to proceed with a treatment. I'm hooked!
