Hello,
my transfer went well -- totally full bladder and the nurse kept making me laugh -- but, I made it!
Before everything began we watched on the screen and saw the biologist scoop up the 2 embryos - man are they small-- .2mm, they told us...
They transfered 2 Blastocysts, after which the doctor called out, Bravo! and said they should be looking for a place to stay sometime today...so, I haven't been doing much since we got back from the clinic yesterday.
Had acupuncture after the retrieval and twice yesterday - once before and once after the transfer -- anyone else have that? And got a big list of what not to eat during this waiting period and during the 1st 3 months --
BT will be on the 12th...

Any tips on passing the time would be appreciated! Is anyone working during this time?

Big hugs and congratulations to everyone who had transfers yesterday! We are on our way...

To Brandi and Lynne - wishing you both all the best for BFP's on Monday!

take care everyone,
Amy

Amy- Can you share your list of what not to eat with us?

Laurie- My DH was wondering- is the cost of IVF covered in England? Do you go into London for treatment or is there a clinic in West Sussex? We were just wondering. My DH wants to move to London sooooo badly. We have a good friend who lives in Richmond, and he is always encouraging us. I just don't think I could take the weather. When I lived there, it was from March- October, so I missed the really dreary months. I live in the south, where it is sunny and warm a good portion of the year. We have cold months in Dec. Jan. and Feb. and then out pops glorious spring. What is the climate like where you are?

Congratulations to us all on transfer.

Brandi- There is a site called POAS.com- they talk about all the different kinds of HPTs. They compare them all and show different positives and negatives. Do you have a dollar store near you? They are supposedly as accurate/sensitive as the expensive ones, and they only cost a dollar each!! The website explains. Maybe that will help you.

Here's the list I got from my doctor -- things to consider -

-No smoking, no passive smoking
-No alcohol, no quinine containing beverages like Bitter Lemon
-Nothing containing aspartame, no diet colas
-Don't press when peeing or having a bowel movement. If the b.m. isn't soft, take magnesium, but don't take any stool softeners or foods that might give you gas -
-maximum 1 cup/glass of coffee, black tea, Red Bull or cola daily
-don't carry your mobile phone in the area of your pelvis - like in your purse hanging off your shoulder
-don't exhaust yourself physically, no strenuous sports
-do get lots of fresh air, easy walks are permitted
-no tanning salons, no visits to the sauna
-no tampons or dusching
-no hot baths
-no massages
-no haircoloring or toning during the 1st 3 months
-talk to the dr. before going for dental treatment during this period
-no pineapple, use parsley sparingly - only to season
-no foods containing acrylamid (french fries, chips, corn flakes, etc)
-reduce intake of histamine rich foods like: tomatoes, ketchup, hard cheese, bacon, smoked meats, smoked fish
-avoid microwavable meals and reheating food in the microwave
-no raw meat (tatar), no raw fish

My doctor, like many others in Germany in Austria are big believers in a homeopathic approach in addition to the regular medicinal approach - so if a few things seem strange, that is probably why -- But, I found the list interesting nonetheless.

hope you've all had a relaxing Sunday.

I'm spotting and FREAKING OUT!!!! What does this mean? It's very light, and off and on all day. Not enough for even a panty liner. Today was 6dp5dt. My blood work is on Friday. What do you all think? Bad news?

First of all, thanks to all who gave me support while I was feeling down. It really meant a lot.

It sounds like everyone's transfer went well. I had my two little embies put back in me. One was 9 cell grade A and the other was 8 cell grade A. The embryologist said they were beautiful. They ended up doing assisted hatching on them. They said they do this for all day three transfers. I think they did it because they felt sorry for me. LOL! My er told me I won the award for the fullest bladder of the day, they really seemed amazed. I have my beta scheduled for July 11.

Good luck to those testing today. :) Even though it seems like you already know the answer, it makes it twice as nice to have it confirmed.

Hi girls! Sounds like everyone's transfers went great! Congrats!!!

Good luck today Brandi! Don't worry, you're going to get that awesome call this afternoon!!! :D

I'm hanging only by a thread here. This 2ww is awful. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night with terrible terrible cramps, worse than AF. I had to get out of bed and take Tylenol and still that didn't help. Today I have sort of intermittent cramping. I'm taking this as NOT a good sign. I just don't know what to think anymore. At this point, I just want to know either way.

Melanie- This may not be it, but I know for a fact that the progesterone makes you cramp. When I just did the suppositories, I cramped a lot, so imagine the PIO. Have you gone in for b/w to check Prog. and Estrogen? I go this Thursday. I would email your primary nurse and just ask- it's probably nothing. I'm hoping for you....
