Post by Dellie »

I am looking for advice on how to maximise embryo transfer success. Does bed rest make any difference?

Thanks for your response. The UK clinic I am attending advises no special measures at all. You are supposed to just go about your normal business. I have heard that acupuncture increases success rates, so I am giving it a go.

Hi Dellie,

My doctor told me to spend 3 days in bed. After that to go back to normal life, but not to lift anything over 5 lb.

Good luck!

Hi ladies,

Sorry to but in - but i have to address summit that Suzfla said -

Did ur DR really tell u not to talk!!!!! I cant beleive that - Just to whisper!!!

Ive heard of some things not to do - but not to talk is a first!!!

(Sorry - but i am just stunned at that lol)

Anyhow, all i was told was not to have intercourse, no skiing or horse riding - which was lucky, cos i dont do either (appart from the intercourse lol) - which was pretty hard to obstain from lol ....

Think about all the women who get pg after a boozey night out, or on honeymoon/holiday - they dont stop drinking, partying etc - im not saying to go out and get sloshed - im just saying - carry on as normal - if the embies are going to stick - they will no matter what ....

Good Luck

I even went out of town on day 3 of my transfer. I did et on July 3 on July 5 I was on the road for 7 hour stoping only once to use the rest room. On day 1 of the transfer I cramp like crazy had very bad leg cramps too. On day 2 following 5 day transfer. I just has cramping. By Friday I was peeing every 30 mins. I had a feeling that i was pg. but was not sure. So I took the test got 2 lines I ended up on my knee's praying and thanking god. I ate a can of pineapples the day of the transfer if that help at all. Good luck...

I was told "modified couch potato" for 48 hours, after than no sex for 2ww also nothing that would bounce you around too much due to ovaries still being enlarged. (ie horseback riding, jetski, boating on smaller boat that could bounce around, etc) and no heavy lifting.
