***Hoping for a summer baby***

Post by Jen Mahoney »

Hi ladies! I'm starting this thread for those of us who are at the begining stages of IVF or just anyone who wants to join :D .
Let me introduce myself, my name is Jen. I'm 26 and my DH is 29 and we have been TTC for 7 years now. After testing for 4 years we were told two years ago that IVF with ICSI was our only hope for having a child together. It took us those two years to prepare for this journey.
I have an-ovulitory syndrome with some tube damage with clubbing on my left tube. DH has vericosile that has caused a low sperm count.
We started the IVF process at the end of May. The first step for us was the consultation. We also have done the mandatory IVF class. DH had his seamen analysis last week with not so good results but will be testing again. If the results come back the same he will need to have a Testicular Biopsy. Today I had my SIS/Trial Transfer with not so good results too. They couldn't find my left ovary (it could be adhered to my colon, this has happened before) and only found 5 eggs in my right ovary. I was hoping for better results. Now I have to go back for another SIS/TT this time taking Magnesium Citrate to empty my colon the night before.
I'm here to meet other women going through this process and am willing to talk about it. Because my DH and I have decided not to tell our family we are dong this I really don't have any one to talk to. I'm hoping this message board will be a good support system. I had no idea what kind of emotional roller coaster we were going to be put through doing this.

Well hello miss Lisa!
First of all congratulations on your quiting smoking, that's so wonderful! What are you doing to stop (pill, patch, etc...)?
Of course you can join this thread, you don't even need to ask :D .
So you have your paperwork done, that's great! What type of medication are you on? Did your RE put you on birth control pills for 2 week (or will be putting you on bc)? That's something that I don't really understand.
I'm hanging in there. Were playing the waiting game and I'm just really feeling anxious. Not to mention we have a childs birthday party to go to tomorrow and I'm really not looking forward to it *sigh*. I'll keep ya posted.

Hello, Lisa. Welcome!!

Today, a really, really painfull period arrived!! I hate it
The good thing is that since my period came, on Monday I must do my first ultrasound!! My doctors want to see if my ovaries are suppressed enough, so that we can start stimming (Menopur shots). Wish me luck!!
Regarding the smoking issue, my doctors allow me to smoke up to 3 cigarettes per day. I have suffered from a nervous breakdown and I was on sedative drugs for a while, so they say "better smoke than sedatives"!!!
But quiting it is the best thing of course, so good for you!!

Lisa,
Hey! How are you doing? Have they given you a start date for your injections yet? This waiting aspect of the process really stinks, I wish that we all could just move forward! Give us an update. I hope all is going well.

Hi,
How is everyone going?
Seems like everyone has something happening.
Unlike you guys I will be hoping for a winter bub that is ok we can snuggle together on the outside. lol
We go next week to learn how to inject, and get nasal spray.
Well that's the plan.
I know how hard it is to quite smoking I did that over 5years ago now the best thing. I have also told my parents to start quitting. But I don’t like our chances.
Take care

Aren't we a bit quiet?????

Post by alexprafti »

Hello, girls.

How are you doing? We seem a bit quiet....

Anyway, me news are....

I was supposed to go on Monday for ultrasound and bloodwork. Friday morning my cell rings... It is the doctor from the clinic. Says he wants to see me on Saturday too. That is, today. So, there I was in the clinic today, 8 in the morning. Did ultrasound and bloodwork on the 3d day of stimulation with Menopur. 4 eggs on the left 4 eggs on the right but very small. Doctor says everything is ok and it was too early to see me anyway. I suppose he couldn't wait until Monday to see me.... (little joke!!!!)

Back to the clinic on Monday. I am a little dissappointed. Just 8 eggs. And I do not know if there is a chance I can produce more or that's it....
On Monday my gynaecologist will be therentoo and that is nice, because I always feel better having him there.... Well, that's all for now. xxxxx

weeee so excited...less than a week til my 1st appointment (consult!) I am so afraid they are going to tell me we have to do this test, that test, and this...chaching!!! Insurance pays for NOTHING, I just want to be a single mommy! I just don't have unlimited resources...that is what scares me more than anything. I think I am more nervous about that than picking a donor!!!

Hello, everyone!!

Pequele, so nice that the time is near!!!
Today, I did another ultrasound. 20 eggies, but only 10 growing. On day 5 of stimulation they are size 10 more or less.
Docs say we proceed a bit slow, but better this way, because we will avoid hyperstimulation. Well, what can I say?....
Wednesday I will go again for ultrasound and bloodwork. Wish me luck.
