Hi,
I have two 5-6 day (grade 2) embroys frozen from my last cycle. I want to hope that FET works. Are you someone who never got pregnant or miscarried but still got BFP from first FET after BFN from 1st IVF? God I am soooo depressed that I dont even want to try FET. Soory to sound that negative.

Hi Stressball,
I'm also going to have a FET cycle, that is if my period ever arrives. It is really hard to stay positive, but I read so many women on this site who did become pregnant with FET. I'm trying accupuncture & the MD is also having me take steroids through the cycle, so hopefully it will help.
I can honestly say that I'm pretty hopeful, even though statistically FET is less successful than a fresh ivf cycle. I'm also glad that it's way, way, WAY easier on your body. At least I can enjoy my summer more while undergoing FET.
Best of luck, hopefully we'll both get BFP's and get to stop all this stuff!

Well, as you can see I've had 3 BFN's so far that have pretty much been unexplained. We started out with male factor diagnosed and I was supposedly perfectly healthy, other than hypothyroid. After the last IVF didn't work with 3 really good embryos's (the MD said they never get that many "perfect" embryos), they tested me for all kinds of things like a clotting disorder, autoimmune disease, underlying infection -you name it. The only thing they found was that my thyroid antibody levels were a little higher than normal. So they're putting me on steroids just to see if that makes a difference. I'm hoping that between that and the accupuncture I'll get a better outcome.
We're on a refund program so we get to try 3 fresh IVF cycles in 1 year, no baby we get our $ back. For me, this year is like a long, excruciating marathon that I have to complete just to know that I've tried everything I possibly can. I'm getting tired of this whole thing! We've been TTC since 2000.
So anyway, I'll see what happens this summer, try to stay sane, try to stay healthy, and hopefully get pregnant.
Hi 2nd timer,
did you know that you had hypothyroid before starting the whole IVF thing? what are your thyroid levels? I have a friend diagnosed with hypothyroidism and she tried auyervedic meds and it seems her hormones are pretty controlled.
I guess the most frustrating thing with me is unexplained diagnosis. Doc found mild endo and removed it still not preg. We were told the male factor problem but 8/10 of my eggs fertilzed normally and four of them survived to blastocysts. I have a feeling that something is not right with me and its a matter of time to diagnose it. Hopefully it would be something that can be cured.
I dont remember where did I read this but recently I read somebody getting PG after steroids. Hopefully this will be your case too. Until then stay positive.
We do not have any coverage for any further treatment. I want to be Pregnant and not bankrupt. Lets see what happens....

I had a BFP with my recent FET (6/22/07) after my failed IVF #1 in 3/07. I had 3 excellent quality embies transferred in March and did accupuncture and was on bed rest for 5 days. It was a BFN! I was so dismayed and discouraged that I did everything right and it still failed. Anyway, I did my FET cycle with a more relaxed attitude... no accu, modified bed rest x 3 days and my RE put me on antibiotics, steroids and aspirin with PIO shots. My embies were not the best quality compared to the fresth ones as expected after thawing and I had 5 embies transferred...2 5 celled embies with assisted hatching (gr A and B) and 3 grade c 4 celled embies. My 1st beta was 34 on 7/2 and had 2nd one today with jumped to 213. I'm ecstatic!!! That's why FET's do work and I've read elswhere that your frozen blasts will have excellent chances to work!!! Good luck to you and 2ndtimer!

Sanya,
We got BFP on our first FET after our failed first fresh ivf cycle on March/April. On our fresh cycle we transferred 2 excellent quality day-6 blasts my RE told us that they are the best of the best unfortunately it was BFN. On 6/4 we transferred 2 day-6 blasts and this time it's BFP.

On 6/27 (6 weeks pg) we have our first u/s and we saw one strong heartbeat. FET does works plus it's less stressful that fresh cycle..Goodluck...

We are another stat...It worked for us. We have a failed fresh cycle and now we are almost 26 weeks pregnant from a FET in January. Hang in there and YES do a FET as they work. We did it back to back from the fresh cycle..I wanted something to work and it did. We transferred 3 back FET and one took.
Good Luck

Congrates to all FETTERS..its my teminology...You guys made me very hopeful. This Friday, I consulted my RE post IVF-BFN and asked him about steroids, aspirin etc for my FET IN Aug and he discouraged me for all that. He will give me estrogen and prgesterone only.
My mom will be visting me soon. I wish I will be a FETTER then and make her very happy.
Hi Ghost, your response made me very positive. Thanks for being there for us. I guess your name should be hopegiver than Ghost.
Thanks everybody,
I will keep u posted,

I was glad to see this thread. I just found out that I had a 3rd chemical pregnancy - out of 5 IVF attempts. All have been fresh cycles. Our last attempt we transferred three blasts and still BFN. We were also able to freeze 3 6-day blasts - the first time we've had some frozen. So, I will be doing a FET in August. I guess I am worried because the stats are so much lower and since a fresh cycle hasn't worked why would a frozen. But it is great to read that there are success stories.
I'm also doing FET in the next couple of weeks. I just got a bfn from my 1st IVF and now we'll try the FET. I haven't talked to my dr. yet as to how it works. Do any of you know the process? I think I have to wait until I have a LH surge and then I'll be on lupron, estorgen patches and then progesterone for 6 days before the transfer. Is anyone doing anything similar? I wish I didn't have to wait for my LH surge. I have PCOS and an LH surge for me could be any where from 17 days to 30 days! I'm ready to start NOW!!!! Another long few weeks before starting treatment again. It's so depressing. I really hope it works this time!
Anyway, I hope we'll be cycling together. When do you all start?
Talk to you soon.

Looks like quite of few of us will be doing FET sometime around August. Mulligan, I'm not sure what medications or protocal I'll be on yet. I'm also in your state. My 1st FET was at UNC(I dont recommend them) I remember I was on the little estrogen patches among other things.
Now I'm going to NCCRM in Cary, NC. They seem to be way, way more pro-active so there's really no telling what all meds I'll be on. I know post transfer I'll be on 2cc of PIO shots instead of the 1cc that I was on for the IVF -ouch! Right now I'm down-regulating for 21 days on BCP's, so I'm just chillin & enjoying my summer.
Stressball, you asked a while back if I knew I was hypothyroid. I did, it's always been well controlled. I think they are putting me on steriods for the entire FET just as an experiment to see if that helps.
I'm really glad to hear about all the BFP's on this thread. My 1st FET I felt like it was hopeless, now I'm feeling really hopeful!
In 2005 I had a heartbreaking BFN on our First IVF. (June) In Aug I had an FET done and it was VERY SUCCESSFUL!!!! Jack was born 19 April 2006!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHoo Hoo!!!
2ndtimmer!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I live in Clayton NC and I am going to Carolina Conceptions.. LOVE THEM!!! We interviewd NCCRM in 2004/2005 and they didn't give us a warm fuzzy.. The doc that didn't give us a warm fuzzy is no longer there!!!!!! We did our 2nd IVF in June what a wonderful surprise, it took...(we have a couple frozen).... Good luck with NCCRM!!!!!
2ndtimer & Sleepyfoy- I'm in Charlotte and go to REACH. I've liked them so far, except for the fact that I'm not pregnant! I think they have pretty good success rates and my dr. seems to know what he's doing. He's very straight forward and doesn't give me a lot of fluff. I like that about him.
Well, I got my official bfn today so I have to set up some post ivf appt and then a fet consult. My rn didn't give me too much info today, but he said that the whole fet will take about 6 weeks from now. On day 10 of this cycle, I'll start OPK to indicate my LH surge. Once that happens, I'll start Lupron again to suppress. From there, I wait for af. Then I do estrogen patches and then 6 days before ET, I'll start the PIO shots again. Does that sound like what you all are doing?
6 weeks seems so far away to me right now. I think all of this waiting for treatment to start is so hard. I'd rather do pio shots twice a day then all of this waiting!!
2ndtimer, why are you doing 2cc of pio? I wonder if that would help me. I'll ask my doc about that.
Hope you are all well.
