Hi I would just like to introduce myself. I am from Pennsylvania in the United States. My husband and I are going to be starting the IVF process soon. This will be our first try. My husband has been taking Dilantin for sezuires since he was 16 so we think that is possibly causing our problem, but none of the docters will say for sure sometimes I think that people that have to go through this stuff know more than the docters do. Any way he has low count and motility. Fortunitly they think everything is ok with me. I have one son already to a previous relationship he just turned 5. I feel so lucky to have already had 1 blessing. I never in a million years thought that I would ever even consider IVF but it seems now that we are in this situation we would do what ever it takes to have a child together. Nobody would really ever understand what we are going through except anyone that has to go through it themselves, basically that is why I am here. I hope that joing this sight will help me through this whole process. Just reading some of these post I already feel as if we are not going at this alone. We have done 5 IUIs already which have failed. Now we are waiting for our IVF consult, I am excited and scared all at the same time. Thanks for listening to me bable on, I wish everyone the best of luck,

Hello and welcome!

I am sure that here you will find lots of support.
I am from Greece and I have recently joined this forum. I have already begun my first IVF, 20 days ago (long protocol), after 2 years of trying and 5 unsuccesful IUI. I would like to wish you lots of luck in your try. It is very important that you already have a child. I have no children.
Anyway, I wish you again good luck and I would be happy to help you with any way I can, even though I do not have much experience, as this is my first IVF.

Hi all,

I am Erica. I have been TTC for the past 3 years. Had 4 IUI's all BFN. Went through IVF this july and BFN. I deperately want to become a mom. What I would suggest for people going for IVF is not to keep any hopes up since I was so positive that IVF would work for me the first time and it failed. Our's is an unexpalined fertility. I think that IVF is a number game and it all depends on luck. I don't have the courage to go for another IVF but my DH wants me to. I can help in answering ur questions about IVF since I have been there.

Good luck to all ladies who want to get preganant :D

Hi Ladies,

Welcome its nice to meet u - i only wish it was under different circumstances that we all have to meet!

Erica: Please dont make a decision while ur so cut up about ur BFN. i too got a BFN last Sept, and its taken me untill now to decide to go ahead and give it another go. Its not easy getting a BFN, as u say, its luck of the draw, but, that doesnt mean u cant have hope. Every woman comes down with a bang when it fails, but i feel u should still keep up ur PMA - dont give up all hope, go back to ur clinic for ur review appointment and take it from there. If u feel u need a few mths off then take it, just dont give up yet. I wish u well in ur quest for a child, no woman should have to go thru what we do, but im afraid it is sadly the fact of life, its lucky that there are some good DR's out there who can help us acheive our goal, medicine and embryoligists are amazing dont u think?

Alexprafti: hello, how u doing? I too was on the long protocol just like u, how long now before ur EC - should be pretty soon is that right, or have u already had it done?? Keep me posted on how ur doing .... anything u wanna ask - ask away and i'll help if i can. Good Luck.

Amy: Hello and welcome, u have def come to the right place, ladies on this site are wonderful and have been my saviours over the past year or so. When is ur appointment with ur consultant? Keep me posted on ur progress, good luck.

Ladies, if u would like to post anything on the 'General Forum' i am sure u will get a lot more responses there as women tend to use it more than the other sites. We have a thread called 'Awaiting Treatment' for ladies who are still waiting and are 'in limbo' of what to do in the meantime - also have ladies there who are having treatment. We are all one big happy family and u are all welcome to join in the fun .... please do ...

Hope to talk to u all soon,

Becky Xxx

Thank you for your interest. On Tuesday they took 10 eggs. Yesterday, we had 7 fertilizations and today we have 8! Embryologist says that everything looks just perfect and today she will froze 5 of my eggs. Tomorrow, they will put back 3 of them.
I am so nervous-I cry whenever the embryologist calls me!!!
Am I loosing it? :?

Ur normal lol

May i say 'CONGRATULATIONS' on such wonderful ferts, and already having 5 frosties - thats brilliant :D

Putting 3 embies back is giving u a really good chance of this working. When u go in 2moro to have ur babies put back, relax, take it easy, try and chill out as best u can. Stock up on some magazines/books/DVD's, stock up on ur fav drinks (non alcoholic obvisouly lol) chocolate, plenty of fruit (to keep u regular lol).

2morro u will be 'PUPO' (Pregnat untill proven otherwise)

So enjoy :D Keep me posed with everything thats going on ...

Love to u and ur wee embies,

Becky Xxx

Hello everyone, I started my ivf treatment on june 4rth the long protocol
and up till now everything is going well. I discovered your chat group during my 2WW period and it was so helpfull to read all your messages on all my sleepless nights. I wasn't ready to join then, but it was so comforting that I wasn't alone. This is my first ivf so I am completely in the dark about what needs to happen. Thanks to the internet and your chat group I started finding out more and more about the process.
Now on july 17th i had my beta hcg test which I was sure it would be negative (since i wa stupid enough to have a home pregnacy test the day before and it was negative)but the blood test WAS POSITIVE with HCG 549 . Since HCG was so high I was told that there is no need for a second one and that i should go for a ultrasound on the 31st of july. I can't wait.
I am happy but scared and i don't have any symptoms apart from cramps which really scare me.
I want to thank all of you for keeping me company all this time.
thats all for now. I have to try to stay focused at work which i find close to impossible
By for now

Bubbles- congratulations!!!! :P

Welshgirl38-thank so much for your reply.
Today, we put the 3 embryos back where they belong!! :P
Doctor says bedrest only today. But have to be carefull until the 3d of August, when I will do my test!!
Very scared, but trying to take it easy!! Doc said absolutely no stress!! Well, easier said than done. I have put on 4 kilos and I am so very bloated! Doc says it will get worse! How nice!!

Now, all we can do is wait...
Thanks again for your support. It is very important, because I have found out that if you haven't experienced this, it is impossible to understand it. And no one I know has been through this... So... My internet friends are really important!!

I also tranfered 3 3day embrios ( two 8 cell and one 11 cell)on the 6th of july and had my test on the 17th of july.
I know is hard to relax but don't worry even if you worry.
the 2WW sacks . I was up at four every morning just staring at the ceiling and I am an olympic sleeper Never before I had problems with sleep. I felt so bloated, fat and constipated. I look four mothns pregnant I am still very bloated by the way. I look four mothns pregnant.
So take it easy pamper your self as much as you can and keep yourself distracted. Eat well and remember as of yesterday you are pregnant until proven otherwise

Hello, bubbles!

Thanks for your support! I see that you are from Greece, too! And from Athens! I am from Athens, too. That's nice!

I hope you don't mind my asking, but was your result positive? If not, I apologize. I hope I didn't upset you.

Anyway, I am also taking part in a Greek forum. Are you, too? If not and if you are interested, I could inform you about the address.

Thanks again.
