early scan - saw little Herbie!

Had my early scan today. Scary moment when she couldn't see Herbie. I couldn't even look at the screen and my mind was racing thinking oh my God, Im not pregnant, its wind. So she had to do an internal. She made me laugh, she was all concerned, would I mind having an internal - I said, don't worry about it, Im well acquainted with a condom covered probe, i've had tonnes of them, help yourself! Anyway,then we saw Herbie, bless him, with a flickering heart beat. She said it was good and strong. I thought I was 8 weeks but apparently its 7, which p'd me off as that's another week until the 12 week scan! Finally feel pg!!!! Was having my nails done on Saturday and all of a sudden felt a great urge to honk all over the table, so ended up sitting there with a mixing bowl on my lap - classy!!!! Yipppppeeee morning sickness has begun! I hope that doesn't sound daft, getting excited about throwing up, but its another thing to make it real! Hope you all had good weekends! LOL Rachel x

YEY - well done Rachel, it's so lovely to see the heartbeat. Hope you don't feel too sick, make sure you eat every couple of hours - i found that helped with me. Not sure if i have a bump or just been eating too much!! Look aftre you and little Herbie, Lizzy xxx

Hi Rachel Great stuff, glad your scan was ok. I was the same as you, excited to feel sick, but believe me........... when you've thrown up every day for 14 weeks, you'll be fed up of it and wishing it would go away!!! Take care, Luv Rachel X

Dear Rachel, Wonderful news!!! It's soooooo exciting when you see them for the first time - and such a relief. Apparently if they see a heart beat then the risk of miscarriage goes down dramatically. I was never told this at my first scan, but a few of the other girls were informed. It's nice to start feeling pregnant - hope you're not too sick. The next few weeks will fly and before you know it you'll be waving at little Herbie at your 12 week scan!! Alison xx

Rachel So pleased you've seen Herbie!! What's another internal scan amongst friends,hey??!! Hope the sickness doesn't get too bad! Your 12 week scan will come round quickly enough, honest! Well done and enjoy! Helen xx
