Hi, ladies!

Anie, I hope things are going better. It will get better. I find that after a good breakdown things always look much rosier.

I started the stims yesterday. Not a fun experience (shot-wise). After doing all the Lupron shots in the thigh, we decided to try the tummy. Yeeowch! I forgot to ice the spot beforehand. That may have added to the pain. We're going all thigh all the time from now on.

I haven't really felt any different today, which I suppose is good. I'm going to the doc's on Tuesday to see what's what.

Sticky marmalade-like baby fairy dust to all.

Hi, thanks for remembering me kitty and cwrj00. AF finally showed yesterday so will be starting with Gonal F tomorrow, so second attempt finally getting going. Am not looking forward to the emotional turmoil again, but I was talking to someone on the phone the other day who finally had success after her 5th ivf. I asked her what kept her from giving up after so many attempts, she said the undying desire for a child, and that is what gives you the strength to carry on. So that's certainly some motivation for us ladies who have more or less just started this long uphill struggle...

Ladies,

I can't get the PMA going today. I went to my re for my b/w and u/s. My follicles have basically stalled. I only had growth on my right ovary...only two are 14mm!!! I cried my eyes out. I don't know what is happening. Last time I did have slow follicle growth but nothing like this....I ended up with 21 eggs! Also, I'm spotting which didn't happen before either. The re said that was normal, just a little shedding of the lining (he said it looked good). But the follie growth came out of nowhere! He said he doesn't want to bump me up on the meds because I have PCOS and they don't want to panic and give me too much. So, I will stimm for a few days more before they decide. I feel sick and I will be 35 years old this Wednesday. I just want to eat a tub of Rocky Road ice cream.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Hellokitty, I'm thinking growth for you, girl! A few cycles ago, when I was on Clomid, there was nothing, like, forever. Then all of a sudden I had two huge follicles. Eat some ice cream and keep thinking positively.

Angela, good luck this time around!

Pequele, good luck at your appointment. If they want you to do some tests, they just want to make sure everything's working the way it should be.

Happy Monday! Is anyone out there working during this whole ordeal?

Hello Kitty: Do eat the ice cream and as much protein as you can.....apparently this is a way to improve follicle growth! Shame the clinic didnt tell me that until this morning!

I had my second u/s today. The follies have grown quite a lot over the weekend so I have to have my HCG tomorrow evening then ER on Thursday morning. I have stayed pretty relaxed (ish) up until now but I am really starting to get excited now.

Hey JulieBoo and Angelafirsttime IVF, how are the injections going?

Grow follies grow!

Hi Ladies,

Julieboo - soooo sorry the tummy didn't work for you but glad you started your stimms. Grow follies grow!! Thanks for sending me some PMA!

pequele - It is exciting to get the show on the road, right?! But don't let the testing unnerve you. Just imagine if one of those test revealed a problem that could have been addressed earlier and inexpensive to address. So, get prepared for a looking poking  .

Angela37firsttimeivf - Yahoo for AF getting here. Keep the inspirational stories coming because we do need them!

cwrj00 - Ooooh I am so excited for you! I knew your follies would catch up this weekend!!! I did pig out on the ice cream....except I had yogurt instead, so feel a little better. Thanks for that protein advise. I will be upping that starting tonight.

LisaPa - how was your weekend

I got my b/w results and my E2 is on the upswing but still very slow like the folly growth. So they want to bump me up the vials of the Menupor to two and keep the Bravelle at 2. My next scan is 7/11, my birthday of course. So, hoping for good news then.

Wishing you all the best!

Tracey, the injections are going fine so far. We've been doing them in the leg with lots of ice. I've only been on the stims for two days, and I'm not really feeling any different. I have my first U/S tomorrow, so I guess I'll know if the drugs are working yet.

Hellokitty, thanks for the cheerleading! Rah rah rah! Go, ovaries!

Hi Julie, thanks for wishing me good luck.
Hi Anie and CWR. My clinic gets me starting the stims on the third day of AF, dont know why. I did this with my first IVF too, the only difference now, with the FET, is that they put you on a lower dose. I think its so they can get the timing right, no idea. Anyway, feeling pretty negative today having done the first shot, feel like its all gonna be for nothing and lots of money being shelled out again. But i guess you have to keep trying. Also feel scared about going for my next appointment as this magazine asked DH and I to talk to them about the treatment, as they were doing a big article on IVF and we were quite negative about the clinic saying that basically they are all cold, heartless and only interested in the dosh (which is true). Its put our names in and a huge photo of us, so there's no way they are all going to miss it, but then again it was the clinic that put us up to it all. So reckon i will be pretty unpopular there from now on. Oh no  Will they be awful to me now? Do you think we ought to change clinics?

Angela37firsttimeivf I’ve been thinking about what you wrote regarding your clinic and talking to the magazine. It might not be such a bad idea after all for you personally. If they are smart, they will behave extra nice and careful towards you wanting to prove you wrong. And if you notice them being extra cold then you should change the clinic.

Angela37firsttimeivf - I agree with Croella. I think they will be on their p's and q's with you and DH. And you only said what you had experienced and everyone has room for growth. The second you feel uncomfortable, share it.

LisaPa - Glad you had a great vacation. Keep the positive stories coming.

Anie - Yeah AF showed her evil face!

Ladies - whatever happened to dodo72 who started this thread?

Hope everyone else is doing well. I may have to cancel this cycle and start over at the lupron phase. AF came full on yesterday...no clue what is going on. I go in for my b/w and u/s tomorrow. AF seems to be tapering off but if the uterline lining isn't right, I have to start again. I felt really down about it but I started thinking that I don't want to force this. I want the best environment that I can possibly get.

Angela, I think your clinic might just give you better treatement now. They know you'll talk. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Lisa, the Lupron injections aren't bad at all. The stim drugs are the ones that hurt a bit. I just make sure to ice the area down. That seems to help.

I just had my first follicle U/S and bloodwork today. I've got a lot of little follies (it's only day 3 of stimming for me), but my estrogen level was a bit high. They're dropping me down in my meds a bit (1 amp of Menopur and 1 amp of Bravelle).

The nurse says they don't want to have to cancel me due to OHSS. Has anyone had this happen? When can you start trying again?
