Clinic Success Rate question for Ghost

Post by ammu »

Ghost,

I am in the same boat as Mulligan; 1st IVF failed, planning on an FET next month. My clinic is Coastal Fertilty Medical Center in Irvine, California.

Would you be able to provide some statistics about this clinic?

Thank you so much!

Use this URL to get to your clinic's latest (2005) statistics:

https://www.sartcorsonline.com/rptCSR_P ... cPKID=2172

For comparison, here's the national average:

https://www.sartcorsonline.com/rptCSR_P ... inicPKID=0

Note: 2006 statistics won't be finalized until December, 2007. Takes awhile to get all that birth info.

Thank you, Ghost!

It looks like the clinic's success rate is less than national average although the RE is supposedly very well known and has gotten lot of awards for his work.

Careful. Things may not be what they seem. We don't all treat the same patients.

Thank you, Ghost. I understand that the specific case of each patient varies and hence a percentage comparison may not be a good measure. Personally, I like this clinic and the people there and was referred by a friend.

carebear110b, thank you for you kind words and congratulations on your BFP! Take care. I am yet to talk with the RE to find out what may have gone wrong. I will take a break before the next attempt.

The SART website is here:

http://www.sart.org/find_frm.html

I have an account and password with SART, but I don't believe that is needed to access the statistics.

Similar data are also available on the CDC website.

http://www.cdc.gov/ART/index.htm

In general, clinics report all of their data to SART and SART reports it to the CDC. Some few clinics report directly to the CDC. I believe national reporting is mandatory, by Federal law.

We have a couple of friends that had twins using that facility. They recommended him, but he was too far from us.
