Anyone going through adoption right now?

Hello
I am looking for an adoption buddy!
Dh and I are having all the visits from psy and social worker to go through the adoption panel. We will have an answer in November... seems so far away!! I am getting a bit nervous now, if we dont pass the panel, no more chances for us!
I cant seem to find a good forum..
is there anyone here going through the same thing?

Hi Souris,
I am not going through the process at the moment but we were placed with a 13 month old baby girl in October last year. Ask anything you like or pm me if you would rather.
Just to add on the emotional side, my baby fills my heart with joy every day, I can't imagine a life without her, she simply is our daughter in every way and we are everything to her.

Hi, My Hbby & I are going through adoption process now, we are at the early stages-had 2 visits and doing prep classes in September. Our friends are currently filling out the reference forms & we have to go for a medical.
What does the medical entail?-would be grateful if you could let me know.
We have been quite positive so far, but if you read some of the nightmares some people have had it puts you off a bit!
We just hope & pray that we have no hiccups & that we have a child perfect for us at the end of it all.
I would be interested to know how its all going for you as you are a step ahead of us, so i will know what to expect!!!

Hi guys,
sorry I dont come often anymore on the web site...
So far I had 3 interviews with the psychologist (alone) and yesterday we had the first one together with DH. It is hard or impossible to know what she thinks at that stage!!
Sara we had the initial medical , which was as Jill said just basic health check to see if we were fit to take care of children.

We have two more visits on monday and tuesday, then a long wait until november when we will know if we have passed the panel or not...

Do you remember me??? We went through a few trials of IVF together on the message boards a couple of years ago - I said I loved your name!

Well, we are adoptiong too!!! We were approved to adopt in march of this year and are now waiting to be matched with a child. I haven't been on this board for over a year and, what a coincidence, there you are!!!!! Not long till you are approved! Where are you living nowadays? Still in France?

Approval date is december the 6th, so not long to wait for that... but then the adoption itself will take a lot a patience and strengh!

I see you are in your 2ww, how are you doing?

Well will have all fingers and toes crossed for Dec 6th for your approval. The patience and strength will be worth it, when you finally get your own child/baby.

Yes, another 2ww- been a while since I last cycled however alot more relaxed about it this time.

Where are you now - still in france??

We passed the adoption panel, we are now legally allowed to adopt!

We are not in France but based in Dubai now. we are both working here.

All the girls back together again

Yep i am also going through adoption now as 7 ivf cycles have taken their toll.
We have had first appointment with s/w, applied, medical, disclosures and references all done. The s/w visits us once a week and we are now doing the assessment (Form F). We have also attended 2 adoption classes and have 3 more to go. Our Panel date is June 12th, which is really close considering how much work there is to do.
It all seems to be going ahead very fast but am sure it will come to a halt when they start to find a match.

I also dont come on here much now as seeing the bfp's are to hard.
