Post by Quinny »

Hi,

Has anyone ever had a digital HPT come back negative, then go on to have a positive with blood test?

Hi Quinny, I have never tested positive on an HPT, but have had 2 very low positive results from bllod work. I beleive the lowest HPT will test at is with a hsg of 50. a positive result is three or above. Plus urine samples are not as sensitive as blood work.
Good luck

Hi

Nic4, Blood test is tomorrow, I have also started bleeding so I am taking that it is a BFP. I will go for blood test tomorrow so they can confirm it. Good Luck with the birth :)

Beachbaby, I done a 2nd digital HPT and it too confirmed negative and now bleeding. Where did you have your treatment as I notice you are from Yorkshire? Good luck with your test :)

All of my HPT's were negative. Every single one of them right up until the my beta day and then my blood work showed me to be pg. Now I'm 27+ weeks w/ twins! I don't trust those HPT's at all! My first beta was also only 62 or 64.
Good luck and I hope you get your BFP!!!!!!

Hi Beachbaby

I too am having treament at LGI, that was 2nd attempt, first one failed also, I live in Cumbria so its stressfull enough doing the 5 hour round trip just for a 5 min appt sometimes. Oh well got my review date for September so they think I can start another cycle Jan/Feb as they are losing 3 embryoligists (carn't spell!) in the next few months so they will be short staffed and the waiting list will be longer!! How many cycles and miscarriages have you had? It must be so hard to find out that you are BFP then to lose, I am soo sorry that it is happening to you and hope they find the answers soon for you. Are you going to have any more treatments?

hi Quinny, just lost the long post i'd written so here goes again.

I am so sorry for your BFN, have both your cycles been fresh? why do you have to wait until next year to go again? hope youget some answers at your revue.

I have done 1 fresh cycle, 20 eggs of which 12 were good enough quality to use, we transferred 2 and froze 10.BFN. we have since done 2 Frozen cycles both resulting in low positves which have gone straight back down, Once you have had 2 miscarraiges LGI do loads of further tests to see if there is a reason behind the rejection. these tests cannot be done for 8 weeks after, and they take 10 weeks for some of them to come back, i go on Aug 9th for the results and hope to do another FET with my next period after that. I hope the wait doesn't go crazt as my last go ended in Feb and i'm sick of waitng. i've also lost my NHS funding due to North yorkshire running out of money. so will be self funding again somehow.

You should come and join the rest of us on the awaiting treatment thread, it helps keep us all sane.
Take care
