Hi girls, question for you girls that got BFPs.

Did you ALL do bedrest after your embryo transfers and if so, for how long?

Mybaby's post got me to thinking because my clinic said I didn't have to have ANY bedrest. I did lay down for most of the day but that's it!

Thanks for any info! I'm a researching machine right now!

Hi Melanie,
Thanks.
How are things shaping up for your next try? Wishing you lots of luck!

And thanks again to everyone for your support. It really meant a lot to hear from everyone. I didn't expect that and was really quite overwhelmed. It will take time to get over this, but I think once we hear from the doctor about our next step, we'll be able to start looking ahead.

I'll try and keep up with what is going on with you girls, providing you still keep posting around this site, and wish you all the best.

Hope Lauren, Stacey and Mybaby are doing okay.

Bed Rest

Post by lynneyd7 »

Hi all,
I was on bedrest for 24 hours, than no intercourse or orgasim for 4-5 days. No heavy lifting and I took it easy for the two weeks and came back with a bfp.

Rocketrat, i did full bed rest for 3 full days then spent another 3-4 days just chilling round the house, still on very light duties, no house work, lifting, intercorse, no baths(missing that) ect.

Biu to be honest this is also what i had done the previous attempts, but got bfn.

Hope your doing ok, nice to hear from you,

Mybaby and Melanie - I did 2 days strick bedrest (only got up for bathroom) and the next couple days I just kinda laid around or sat at the computer, but I was up and down when I felt like it. I have read that bedrest is not proven to help with IVF, but a lot of clinics suggest it. Also no intercouse/orgasm for the 2ww, and now for the 1st trimester.

Sher - the beta website was www.betabase.info (not dot com)

I just got my second beta number back. It was 541 (the 1st was 273). I was 5 point shy of it being truly doubled. I'm not worried about it, I think it is close enough.

Hey Everyone- it's been quiet here this weekend. I go in for my third beta- it should quadruple by tomorrow, so please cross you fingers for me.
The PIO shots had been going so well- no problems. But then, Friday night's really hurt going in. Last night's didn't really hurt, but now I'm sore on that side and dh said I'm bruised on both sides. This is our 17th day of PIO- has anyone else had this happen- where they started out fine and got bad later? I hope everyone is doing well. I am starting to really feel exhausted now. Around noon everyday, I can barely keep my eyes open- I'm soooo sleepy. But then, I get a second wind around 3:00 and am pretty much okay until bedtime. Today, however, I'm completely wiped out and have been in bed all day- so tired!!!!

I GOT TO SEE/HEAR MY BABY'S HEARTBEAT!!!!................................

well let me expain the title today i had bit of a scare, yesterday i started camping, i called my nurse and she told me to take some tylenol because it was safe to take while pregnant. now mind you the only thing that has passed these lips are prenatles and asprine that my doc has me taking. so i was kinda skeptical so i said ok fine cramps never went away. so this morn miguel calls and lets her know whats goin on, she eventually calls me to check up on me well i had a lil bleeding so she said go to the emegency room so ugh i went we got there about 430pm fnally got called back i peed in a cup yay lol, and waited they drew some blood only to tell me i had a SEVERE bladder infection they then put me on iv antibiotics (all which are safe for baby) and then she wanted to check the baby to make sure all is well. so we go in and the tech checks everything and all looks well. so she does and internal ultrasound which i refer to as the dildo cam hahah and she finds baby looks at it for a min then points out look thats the heart beat, i damn there melted she let me see it looked like a lil lima bean with a futter in the middle it was AMAZING and then she told me in a min im gonna tell you to hold your breath so i did and then came the most amazing heartbeat i have ever heard in my entire lifetime it was fast but beautiful and music to my ears, a wave of comfort came over me knowing that my baby is ok. now most people cant get a heartbeat that early but i guess i got lucky. so to make a really long story short mom and baby are just fine ill go for my 6wk u/s on wed and get it video tapped......life is good!.....no.....life is GREAT

Brandi,
That is a neat story, although probably kind of scary before getting to the hospital. I don't think we can video tape where I am at so you are quite lucky. Glad to hear all is going GREAT for you.

Rockrat,
I did not have any days of bedrest either of my successful IVF cycles. Just took it easy. I have, however, been carrying around my 23 lb. daughter. Not sure if I should be doing this, but I don't have much of a choice when DH is not home.

I am heading into five weeks and still no signs of pregnancy. I guess I should not complain. I had OHSS, anemia and was sick on my first BFP so this one is really throwing me off. I am to the point that I am nervous that I am no longer pregnant!?!?! I am just looking forward to getting bloodwork done again so I can feel reassured.

Have a good week,
Sher8

Okay- I'm feeling stupid, but I cannot figure this out. If ER was on a Wednesday, does the week end on a Tuesday or Wednesday? Example- tomorrow -Tuesday- - will I be 4 weeks 6 days or 5 weeks? I keep going back and forth on this- any help???

Hi there,
Hey Jeneden...I would count wed to wed.

I had my u/s today we are having TWINS!!! Two seperate sacs, so fraternal. We are very excited and nervous at the same time. I go back in for my second u/s on the 24th. We saw the heartbeats, so amazing.

Take care to all.
