Ok I did my real OB appt yesterday. I did have sono but the lady rushed thru it... damn it... BUT I FINALLY HEARD THE HEARTBEAT!!!!!!! Dr I saw was much better than the other. He said that he was not worried about any cerclage just yet. He said there was a difference between the 2 different biopsies hot knife not as worried - cold knife leaves your cervix in a different state. I had the LEEP - hot knife and he said that he will check again at 14 weeks with another sono.. Yeah I get to see lil bit again. I also have a NT scan on this coming Thurs because the DR I goto don't do it they send you out I didn't know that. So another sono hee hee. I did feel much more relaxed after meeting this Dr and have no intention of letting them give me an appt with the midwife.

Tanya - Tomorrow is the big day... Congrats!!!! I am so thrilled for you!!! I hope you a great Sat  hee hee

Noodle - Good luck at appt. Hope all goes well.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

OHHHHHH yeah I broke after reading the posts about the dopplers.. Ha ha I rented on to. How long did it take you to find and at what point did you hear it (weeks)? From which Co. did you order? Thanks!!!!

Hi ladies:
Teehee about the sex. None for us since transfer! I was too nervous and I started bleeding and spotting fairly early. We still have another 4-6 before the dr said it will be ok! Poor DH.
I have not been on in a while. Total emotional rollercoaster this pregnancy has me on. We went for my reduction today. When we got to the exam portion, we found out that baby c, a singleton, died. It died about a week ago. We also found out good news. The twins, which we were told were in 1 sac- sharing a blood supply, are actually in 2! The risks of transfusions are very minimal with the membrane that seperates them. We did not go through with the reduction. We will go back for another evaluation in 10 days. So right now we have one singleton and the twins and 3 options: reduce down to a singleton, reduce to twins or don't reduce. AKKKK.
We work so hard to get pregnant. I look forward to the day when I can enjoy all this.
I hope everyone else is doing ok.

So funny - I was going to log on and ask all of you about the sex thing and bam - that was the conversation going on. We haven't had sex since the transfer. I figure we were having sex 8 days a week while we were trying for so long that we are both ok with a little break. I do have some wacky sexual dreams, though. Random people from my past in them - and I wake up thinking why did that person reappear in my dream.

Rikirees - What tough times. In some ways, nature made a decision for you. Thank goodness that you didn't end up deciding to reduce a different baby and then have that one not live. Triplets are doable, right? Good luck during this time. You will be much more settled once you feel comfortable with a final decision.

Someone asked about the doppler - It takes a little while sometimes to locate the HB, but less and less as time goes on. Also, I find the HB very low down toward the pubic line.

Rikirees - I don't mean triplets. I meant: Does three seem more manageable? They are not triplets, right? I didn't ever really know to distinguish.

Well that actually ended up working out in your favor for not having to reduce the pregnancy. Or are you going to reduce further? You have had a lot on your plate. That is great about the twins. It is much better to have seperate blood supplies. Safer. No risk of the transfusion problem. That works out well.

Steph
You are so funny with the doppler thing. We got you all excited didnt we? Last summer when I had a singleton we heard it at 9 weeks. I got mine from www.bellybeats.com. I am happy with the company. They have done well for me. Get the digital one. It puts a read out of what the heartbeat is and you dont have to count. I am lazy! LOL Glad that you got to see your lil bit. That is fun. I always love to see mine! i can't wait to go back in and see what the plan is on Tuesday...

Thats right ladies dont come knockin' when the house is rockin'!!!!! LOL You guys are too great!

hi ladies, how is everyone doing?

rikirees sorry about the singleton you lost , but wannabeone said right, mother nature made her choice for you! It is awesome that everything worked out this way, what are your plans? leave it like that or do reduction again?

ladies w twins how much weight did your doctor advice your to gain? I am reading book by Dr Barbara Luke and she is saying the optimal weight for women pregnant w twins is 40-56 lb, where everywhere else I read 25 -30lb.

Another thing that got me thinking is, the book mentions that most OB don't have much experience w twins/triplets pregnancies, they handle it as a singleton pregnancy and I personally think it is not right. I was thinking can i just go to Perinatalogist ( specialist) and skip regular OB? or Ob has to give the refferal?

Hi everyone,

Rikirees, sorry about your lost but like the other ladies said things have their way of working things out for the best. Are you starting to show yet?

Milanka, when I was pregnant with my twins I just went to a perinatologist. I felt more comfortable with the special care and extra appointments than with a regular OB. I think more and more OBs are experienced with multiples because of so many people being successful with IVF. Most specialist do require a referral but it depends on your insurance.

This time I have to see a peri and my regular OB because the same perinatologist I went to with my girls no longer delivers babies. I had an appointment with my OB last week and everything is looking good. My girls went with DH and me for the first time to see the ultrasound and they were amazed. They wanted to sit there all day to see the baby move.
I go back in two weeks. I hope they can tell me the sex of the baby then.
Are any of you planning to find out the sex?

Thanks for all the support. We believe that this might have been an answer to all our prayers. I am just so nervous though all the time, constantly worring if I am going to loose another one. I can't stop. It is insane. The peri said everything looked great with the remaining three, but...you know how it goes.
wannabe- they are still triplets but intead of three singletons it is 1 set of twins and a singleton. Still three growing.
Transr-If risk factors are lower, we are leaning toward keeping all. We have to weigh the risks of having the reduction vs having triplets.
Malkina:you dont have a ticker and I cant remember if you are having one or two. I found that the peri was 10 times better than the OB. Most Peri's dont delivery the babies but the exam they do it so much more thorough than the reg OB's exam. I finally got the 1st trimester scan etc with the peri whereas my OB said she didnt do that sort of stuff.
MDterry: Thanks asking about me showing. I was just complaining to my DH again that I while there is a small bump between my belly button and my pelvis, it still hideable. NO maternity clothes for me just yet. Still anxiously awaitng my bump day.

Hello all.
I am happy to report that I feel really good being officially in the 2nd trimester!!!! HEHE I did have to go to ER yesterday morning because I had a nosebleed that would not quit. I had to have my nose cauterized and let me tell you it is sore as all get out! Anyhow it seems to have stopped but all my coworkers are like what happened to your schnoz? LOL I have never had a problem with nosebleeds but apparently with pregnancy it is common. I didnt know.

Rikirees
Glad that you can see a little baby bump. I know what you mean about waiting for the BIG bump! Then we are are going to be complaining about that!!! LOL It is always something isnt it? I can totally understand how you are feeling about losing the other baby. I really can understand that. It is scary isnt it? Its like you are always worried. Every little twitch you are like what is going on in there. Very frustrating. I hope that they will start moving around this month so you will be able to be reassured!

Mdterry
I want to find out and my DH doesnt want to know. He wants it to be a surprise. I am thinking about having an u/s and not telling him about it. Do you think that is bad? What do you guys think? I want to know and I have two boys so if one is a girl I need to do some mega shopping. My DH says we can shop after the babies are born but who wants to go shopping in the winter with newborn twins? WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK.....Is this a bad idea? What would you do? I was thinking that this way it could be a surprise for him and I would be fine with knowing. I dont know....ethical dilemma!!!!!!!

Malinka
I go to a peri but I had to have a referral. She does not deliver but she did a great exam. I will be going to see her for my 20 week u/s appt. I like how she does a much more in depth exam than my OB. Ask for a referral. It can't hurt.

Hi all:
Ok the bump is getting a bit bigger and I am calming down a bit in that regard. We went to the OB today to discuss that we didnt have the reduction and the "what if's". DH really want everything to be ok and move forward with the three beanies. OB was totally against reducing the singleton and if we reduced pushed for the twins to go. I think it is their job to scare the crap out of us. DH and I were feeling good about our decision over the weekend and then OB made us very nervous again. We are going to get another opinion later in the week.
I know we have a few twins in the group. Any identical twins in the same sac? I need to chat with you ladies to try to get some piece of mind!
Trans: I think you shouldnt find out just yet. Plus what happens if you accidentally let it slip to the DH that you know. It will be hard to backtrack that one! Maybe he will come around want to find out a bit later on...
P.S. how was all the sex that was to be had over the weekend?!?

We had the doppler yesterday, DH was able to come...so exciting, strong 160 HB and DR said all was well. I'm just so tired...sooooo tired, DR said normal, but all I want to do is crawl under my desk and sleep all day, and I usually get at least 9 hrs of sleep a night...any one else? DH keeps on going back and forth on finding out, I don't want to find out...after trying for this long I want everything to be experienced....sounds a little weird written out but oh well. I already purchased baby bedding...farm animals, the set is really cute, came in on Saturday and is great quality, every morning I have to stop and feel and look at everything again...so sick. Sorry for the ramble but feeling very emotional...again!

Hope everyone is well and had a great weekend...is it Friday yet???
