Hello Ladies:

Amy: I'm very sorry to hear about your negative. Don't give up! I think what helped me finally get pregnant was the HSG x-ray. It is a procedure where they shoot dye through your fallopian tubes to check for blockages. I did not have any, but I think it cleaned my uterine lining, thus allowing me to get pregnant naturally. Have you had this procedure done? My RE said that for some reason it does increase pregnancy rates for the 1st few cycles after the procedure. I got pregnant the very next cycle just following the procedure. I agree with Yasmina, transfer as many embies as they will allow. I did 5 and still did not get pregnant. My RE said that it was a perfect cycle, but I just did not get pregnant. Mine was a 5 day transfer. Two of the embies were blastocysts.

Yasmina: Andrew seems to finally be on a good schedule. He has been going to bed around 9:30 pm and then getting up once at 4:30 and then again between 6:30 - 8:00. It has been wonderful getting more sleep. Have you tried pumping your breasts right before bedtime. I do that just after I feed Andrew and put him down for the night. It really helps with the fullness overnight. Have you had AF yet? I have not had it yet. Although i'm not complaining about not getting it.

Sonia: Hopefully, AF will be visiting very soon.

Hello to everyone else. Hope you are all doing well.

Regards,
Tammy

Welcome to all the new ladies. You will enjoy this thread, it is very informative and supporting.

Amy, so sorry to hear about your BFN. Will you try again?

Yasmina, Eloise is a beautiful little girl. Keep us posted as to when you might go back for the FET. If you are in Nashville or the Nashville area, I know my RE takes women over 45. I'm 46 and will be 47 in Sept, but he has a 47 year old patient that is pregnant right now with her own eggs. He has been very kind and patient with us.

Tammy, Andrew is growing fast. He is adorable!! I love to see the pictures and hear the stories.

Bev, post some pictures of Will when you have time. I would love to see him.

We heard from our ER yesterday. They were calling to tell us that the ED we had chosen had OHSS from her current cycle and had decided not to do any more. After hanging up, calling DH and crying, I sent an e-mail back to the ED coordinator and was asking questions about the PREVIOUS ED that we had chosen earlier but backed out of because of family health history issue. Your not going to believe this but the coordinator called me back and was appologizing because she had never changed the records to show our change to the NEW ED. Come to find out, the girl that had the OHSS and dropping out of the donor program was the girl we first chose before changing our minds. I told DH - see sometimes weird things happen for a reason. Come to find out the donor we have chosen is possibly going to be cancelled for this month because the receipiant messed up her meds. This means we could start with her as early as next month. I am waiting on the call from the coordinator today or Monday to let us know more. Well, was that as clear as mud? It was very confusing for us at first also.

Hi Tammy,
Before our first IVF I did have that scan, while they were investigating how they were going to remove all the fibroids I had -- which I didn't even know I had, till I tried to get pregnant and nothing was happening ---anyway, long story short, not much goes through, but they did what they could to clean the tubes out and removed all the fibroids with laporoscopic (sp?) surgery -- then I had to promise to wait a year before trying our first IVF, which I did...Talk about a long waiting period...but, it went quickly compared to the 2ww after transfer --

My current doctor did do another kind of test, HHSG - what that now stands for, I'm not sure - but it was to check the suppleness of the uterus and if it was a friendly place (so to speak) -- He determined that everything looked good - so we were all very hopeful - but, this time just didn't work out -

Would be nice to get 3 good embryos to transfer next time around (if the doctor agrees to a next time around) and increase our chances- so far, we've had 1 on the 1st try, 2 on the 2nd...so, 3 on the third -- how's that for logic? :D Okay, I know it doesn't necessarily work that way, but would be nice if it did -

I've asked our doctor if he thinks we could try again, if we could begin again in August, since I'm on "school vacation" till the end of September - would be a good time, relaxing time for me and I think it would work out with their vacation time as well -- so, we are just waiting for an answer...

Thanks babyblue and everyone for welcoming me to your group.

Have a nice weekend,
Amy

Hi all

sorry i have been a crap poster this last weeek or so. I have had the blues and been struggiling with emotions about next tmt. Basically i keep crying a lot so have found it hard to log on and post.

My Af is also over 2wks late and although i keep getting little shows of red every few days nothing is coming to a head. Since last tmt in 2006 my AF has been very light and now no show. It's sooooooo getting me down. I suppose it doesn't really matter for egg donor tmt if AF is here or not. But it is messing with my sense of self. Is this the menopause???

anyway sorry no personals but lots of love to everyone

catch ya all when i am more myself

love jen

Amy, so sad to read the news of your BFN. I do hope you get a positive reply from your doc to start again in August / Sept. Have been thinking of you. xxx

Jen, sorry to read that you’ve not been your old bubbly self just recently. I’ve got the same problem as you at the moment so I can imagine just how you are feeling. Didn’t you say you had a new doc supporting you? I’d definitely try and get an appointment for some advice. It could be important for your DE treatment and will make you feel better knowing more about what’s going on and maybe getting it sorted out before your appointment in Barcelona.

As I wrote a few days ago AF just hasn’t turned up, not a sign, not even a smear, and is now over 2 weeks overdue. With getting hot flushes too I just knew it wasn’t a good sign. On Thursday I finally went to see my gynaecologist . In the meantime I had convinced myself that it was due to the side effects of some meds I have been taking for my “thyroid condition” which has now improved. (More comforting than putting it down to age, I suppose). My gyn did a scan and found that my lining is only 3mm (!). He told me to report it, together with my latest blood test values (prolactin etc.) to the specialist so that he could advise what to do in preparation for DE treatment.
My specialist has now prescribed Progynova to build up the lining and Dostinex for my high Prolactin level. AF should arrive in about 3 weeks. We’ve contacted the clinic in Poland and next week (24th) we’re to phone the doc (on holiday this week) to confirm whether we can go ahead with DE treatment on the next (August) cycle or not. In the meantime I’m getting my estrogen level checked. This all quite a new and very frustrating situation because up to now my lining has always developed very well, with or without meds. At my scan in Poland the doc was so pleased too. The meds and prescriptions weren’t in the post today. Hopefully Monday....

Sorry no time for more personals just now.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying a sunny weekend!

Love

:D Hello everyone,

I'm new to posting but have been reading for a while. I have a long history of infertility that I would try to summarize in order for you to know more about me. Started infertility issues on my early 20s -
1st Pregnancy - w/clomid = twins, m/c 10 ww - d/c
2dn Pregnancy - naturally = m/c too early to tell
3rd Pregnancy - clomid = m/c too early to tell - d/c
4th Pregnancy - IUI = m/c 8 ww
5th Pregnancy - naturally = m/c 12 ww (saw baby and heartbeat) d/c

For the last pregnancy I was about 27-28 y/o, got divorced and never tried again until second marriage. Diagnosed with endo, low progestrone levels (RE thought was the cause of miscarriages), had laparoscopy to remove endo, huge cyst in left ovary (ovary removed) and fibroid removed (outside uterus). RE suggested IVF husband at the moment didn't want it to try. Another divorce.

So after all that, I'm currently married again and after two months of tests, laparoscopy (removed endo and polyps) we decided to try (for me one more time, for him the first time). RE recommended IVF due to my age and history of miscarriages. Seems that hormones are looking great for my age so here we are.

Currently on BC (for 16 days only - take last one on 7/24/07). U/S on 7/30/07 staring injections that same day (bravelle and menopur, if I'm not mistaking). I don't have many chances to try multiple cycles of IVF, and yes I too, am hoping for a miracle. So I'm very relieved that I have found this place and hope to be able to hold hands as we go through this journey. 8)

Is there anyone out there with similar cycle days as mine? It would be so nice to hear from you and everyone else. Please excuse the long posting.

Welcome JIV in FL. This is a great thread with lots of experience and support. I am not starting my next cycle until Sept. However, I am waiting on a call TODAY from my ED coordinator on our selected ED. If her current cycle is cancelled (which she thinks is very likely) we may start as early as August. Wow, I would love to have a cycle buddie. Keep us posted on your progress. You know I kind of miss those shots. My last IVF cycle was in March. Not that I like the needles or the meds, but it gave me the sense that I was doing something - trying anyway. This waiting, especially when you are 46 is nerve wrecking. My DH doesn't have any children either. He loves my son as his own, but when summer visitation or the every other weekend comes up, that is when it is difficult on him.

Amy, another try in August or Sept would put us cycling at about the same time. Keep us posted as to what your Dr. tells you about trying again.

Jen, so sorry to hear you have the blues. It may not be menopause, stress can really throw off AF schedule. And it sounds like you are stressed BIG TIME!! I am definitely with Sonia that you should talk with your new Dr. I'm sure he will be able to answer your questions and make you feel more relaxed, especially going into this next cycle. Cheer up, we need to be the next group of BFPs on here.

Sonia, looks like we might be on the same cycle. Hope AF arrives soon. Also hope your meds arrive today. Relax. I know - easier said than done. I've been there before, it is almost like a snowball going down a mountain full speed. It is hard to get it stopped.

You are all in my prayers.

Hello Kim,
going back to the clinic on the 26th to talk about the bfn, and to plan the next step -- I have a feeling I'll be in for more tests before I can start again - which would lead to me to assume I'd be starting in September. I had hoped to begin in August, but think the timing wouldn't work with the clinic's summer holidays --
At least my doctor said he was still convinced that even at 42, almost 43, I should be able to get pregnant - Perhaps just to put me in a more positive frame of mind?
I'll keep you posted - would be nice to have a buddy to go through this all again with. This forum has really been a great find.

Sonia, hope your meds arrived today. Where do you order them from? I've gotten mine sent from France. They are at least a little bit cheaper than in Germany. Also hope AF comes sooner, rather than later and that your prolactin value gets to the right place at the right time! Once I went on the medication for that, it really went down quickly. I hope the same will happen to you. I take something called Pravidel.

Jen, hoping you were able to talk to your new doc and put your mind at ease. It's terrible to feel so down. I do hope things start looking up for you soon.

Welcome JIV in FL! Wishing you lots of luck and all things positive with this cycle.

Take care ladies,
Amy

Hi all,

Kim, thanks for your information. I have two places in mind, one is Chicago and the other is St. Louis. I will ask you more about your RE when time comes, my guess is it will be early next year.

Tammy, my AF has not re-started yet. I don't know when to expect it. I have been reading a lot about breastfeeding stuff recently to figure out when to stop bf is the best since my next FET will depends on this. I ended up purchasing a manual breast pump online - looks like I am going to continue bf for a while. We are going to France next week for a 2week vacation, the electric one won't work there. I figure it would be nice also that I will have a manual one home for occasional night use.

Kim, Sonix, Jen, JIV in FL, and Amy, soon, I will join you for my new cycles. But I wish you all get your preg already by the time I start.

Caroline and Big J, how are you doing? Good luck on your #2s!

Anna and Bev, how are Matthew and Wills? Any recent pictures to share? I visited photobucket but did not find their new pictures. Please update whenever you have time. Love to see how they are now!

Hello Ladies:

Welcome JIV in FL!

Yasmina: I am planning to continue breast feeding too. It is not only good for Andrew but has helped me lose weight. I have lost all of the pregnancy weight (35 lbs) as well as 4 add'l lbs. If you cycle soon, won't Eloise and the new baby be very close in age? I am worried that it would be too much with Andrew and an infant! Ideally, if I were to try again, I would choose to get pregnant after Andrew is 15 months. In that scenario, they would be at least 2 years apart. Of course, we are battling the biological clock too.

Kim: Good to hear that you will be cycling soon. Thanks for the compliments on Andrew. He is my little "sweet pea".

Sonia: Any news on AF?

Jen: Sorry to hear that you have the blues. I hope you are doing better now.

Amy: Summer vacation would be a good time to cycle. If you can destress your life during the cycling it should be easier.

Hello to Kat, Bev, Anna, Lisa, and anyone else that I may have missed.

Hi everyone

hi JIV and welcome

tammy well done in loosing all that weight... :D :D Breast is Best!!!!

Yasmina good news on cycling again ...it would be lovely to have a sibling for Eloise.

Hi to Big J- don't know if you remember me but we cycled the same time you went to kiev. My name was jeni then ( had to change my name when i moved house and cold'nt log on with old name and new e-mail)...good to see you back on the boards and going for 'a sibling soon x x

Amy sorry to hear about your negative ...but hope that next tmt brings your dreams to light. Good luck on the 26th we will look forward to hearing all about your next step.x x

Kim good news about ED. I agree that taking hte shots makes you feel like you are doing something!!!! Hope you get the g ahead soon.

sonia- has AF arrived yet...What meds are you on? i must have missd that one???

Still no full AF, i had a half day bleed and felt better emotionally. But it stopped agin and now 2 days later still nothing but light cramps. Don't think going to the doc will help as it needs to be 2 or more AF's missed before NHS will look into it. ( ie send you on for referal, then that taks about 6 months to see a gyno) When i get to IM 2wks) i Know they will check my hormones and they will sort out meds for me to take anyway for tmt cycle. Would rather wait until then. As for stress, don't really feel stressed just feel that hormones were complicating my moods and thats why the blues. anyway taking it all a day at a time and will see what happens with Af. :? feel better in myself though and thats what matters. It helps that the year long wait for tmt to start will be here ina month or 2. x x

A big hi to everyone i have missed on personals

love jen
