Negative HPT - Devastated

I'm really upset. So upset that I left work to come home and just curl up in bed. I was so stupid....my clinic told me not to do a hpt...that the 21st of July is really the soonest to do a blood test to determine if my IVF was successful.
What do I do this morning? Yup..I took a hpt and it was negative. Please tell me that it is possible that it's too early. I'm now 10 days after transfer and the embryo's were tansferred on day 3.

I'm really really devastated.

I've had absolutely no bleeding/spotting...which probably means that nothing implanted. I also have major period cramps that started BIG time today.

Please Please give me your experiences.

I never, ever, ever had a positive HPT. Not even the day before my beta and here I am pg with twins. Those HPT's are the devil and my fisrt beta was a pretty low number as well. Cheer up and stay positive!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh...Kimberly!! I'm crying right now. You have just given me a glimmer of hope.

I pray that the stupid hpt is wrong. It was one of those "you can test 4 days in advance"....so that's why I'm crushed.

But perhas there is hope....

I did exactly what you did today chicory. On 9/10dp 3dt i took a HPT and it was BFN. I cried for about 3 hours non stop, i thought it was the end of the world. I tested again on day 13 and it was a BFN. But on the day i was told to do a HPT (16th July) it was a BFP! A friend told me off big time, she said they wouldnt give us a specific day to test for no reason.! She was right. Unfortuanately, i have been heavy bleeding for a few days now so i dont think it was the right time for us. Thats not to say its not your time. Please keep positive, i know its hard but test on the date they gave you, you may be pleasantly surprised!! Good luck, let us know the outcome, only a few more days now! Take care x x

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I have had some serious period cramps that started yesterday. This morning (11days after transfer) I begun to bleed. Not a heavy flow but spotting...a brownish and now pinky color...sorry for the details. I'm thinking it's too late for implantation bleeding though....

Anyone ever get this?

Hi Chicory,
After my ET the nurse told me even if you get a period you still could be pregnant. So there is still hope. One time I did get implantation bleeding it was brownish spotting right before my period would have started and I was pregnant. (Unfortunately, I M/C later on.) So good luck!

I thought implantation bleeding happens around 5 or 6 days after a 3 day transfer?? I'm at 11.....

I had the brownish spotting on day 8 past the transfer, day 10, and again this morning (d14pt). I found out I was pregnant on day 9 (was supposed to go out of town, so had the test early). So, try not to worry. I know that is difficult, but just don't assume it is over until you hear it from the doctor/nurse!

I had a negative HPT on day 10.. It was a cheap one.. came up negative at 3 minutes which was the designated read time.. IT said it was invalid after the 3 minutes so I was devistated.. well i checked on it later and thre was a 2nd line.. i thought it was an evap line..
The next day I had blood work done and the nurse called and said I was pregnant!!

so don't lose hope until you get your blood test.. HPT's SUCK!

I was equally stupid to get a HPT the day before my scheduled blood test. When I saw it was negative I just curled up in bed and wanted to die. I also had very bad period cramps so I was sure it was negative I didn'r even want to go for my test. Anyway the next day I had the blood test and it turned out positive with HCG level 549 which I was told was very good. So don't worry even if you do have bleeding go and have your beta test.

Hello -

I guess we all have done the same mistakes. I did a HPT also a few days before my bloodwork and it came out negative. I also was crushed and had lost hope. I was also having cramps and I swore that my period was coming. Then I went for my test and luckily came out positive. I only had one day of spotting and that was super light pink and that was it. The cramps were a little strong though but the nurse said that happened because the embryo was implanting and that it was very normal. Don't let those sticks worry you or loose hope they are not 100% accurate and if you read the instructions it does mention that your test might not be accurate if you have had an infertility treatment so that made me feel a little better. I did cry for the whole day and I did not know how to tell my hubby but I did and he was furious cause I had done that. Thank GOD we are prego and I am 7 weeks and 1 day.

Hi guys !
I had my 3 day embryo transferred on 19/9/15 and did my bhcg test on 28/9/15 which came negative i.e 3 mIu/ml .As per doctors instructions i was supposed to check my blood on 29/9/15. I got a little spotting on the 2nd day after my transfer when i reported to doc she dint sound positive about it but however I thought it could possibly be an implantation bleeding.Was it too early that I checked my bhcg because the last time i had checked a few months back it was only 0.5 mIu/ml .Should I consider this as a negative or are there cases where first blood test was negative then it became positive ? My husband and I are still in hopes. Any such experiences Please share !
