Hi Melanie,
How are you? When do you start again? We have an appt. on the 26th to talk about the next step after the bfn...We'd like to start again in August, but have a feeling it will be September.

Glad to hear all is well with you, Brandi - Hope everyone else is doing well, too!

Take care,
Amy

Hey Amy and Melanie- Laurie, Kerri, and I have been posting on the March 08 babies site, although I'm so afraid to because I don't want to jinx this, so I'm not saying too much yet. My last blood work was last Monday and my beta was 1466, so I guess all is well. I keep spotting- this is day 12 of spotting, and even though I've heard it can be normal, it is VERY scary. I am afraid to go to the bathroom for fear it has changed from brown to red. My first U/S is next Wednesday- time is DRAGGING!!! I just can't relax and allow myself to think that we are actually going to have a baby. So, when do y'all start the your new cycles? I am crossing everything that this time works for both of you!!

Hi girls! So glad to hear the updates!! Y'all are doing great!!!!
Jen, good luck on your u/s Wednesday!!! I konw it's sooo hard, but try not to worry about the spotting...its sounds ok!
Amy, I think we're going to get started again in Aug/Sept...just waiting for the next period. had my post ivf and it looks like my eggs are not great but RE still gives about 40% chance for me with my own eggs...that's enough for me to try again...what are your plans? what did your RE say after your cycle?

Hey Melanie- how are you? Did you enjoy the Braves' game? I sure would like to taste a beer (or three)- HAHA!! So, did you think your post IVF visit went well? Did Dr. Toner (isn't that who you see?) answer all your questions. I see you put that they thought your eggs were not great- how do they know? I hope you got some good info. Please keep me posted on your next cycle- I will be hoping for that BFP!! Thanks for thinking of me while your going through your own stuff. I will let you know what happens Wed.

Hi Jen! Yes, had a great time. We are huge Braves fans. The beer was great...now I must stay on the wagon as we go into the next cycle! I'm just waiting for my period to come and then I can start. I did see Dr Toner at Piedmont. It was so close to my office I can't believe I never knew how convenient that place was. Kind of a pain parking, but otherwise, I got there in 10 minutes. Anyhow, after I left his office I was feeling better about things and quite positive, but now I'm not so sure. I was not accepted into the shared risk program so we only have money for 1 more chance and that's it. Scary.

The team assessment was: Response to ovulation induction, egg yield, and embryo quality all imply an abnormality of ovarian reserve. For this reason, then, donor egg would be the couple's best option. If unwilling, they could try again with their own eggs with a maximally aggressive stimulation. We also recommend adding acupuncture and glucophage.

Dr. T said that my max chance of success with my own eggs is 40% but I'm willing to go for it with those odds. I was given a different protocol too called microdose flare where you only do lupron for 3 days and then I'm doing max allowable stims. Was given option of switching from Bravelle to Follitism which are basically the same thing so I don't know???

Also, about acupunture...I just don't know if it's baloney or not??? I might do it.

Anyhow, sorry I was rambling. Are you back from you u/s yet. I keep checking the other board to hear your good news!!!

Carebear- I'm so sorry you had such a bad appointment. I did not know you had lost twins so late- do you mind telling what happened? Your Dr. should know you're going to be a wreck!! Is your Ob/Gyn better? I hope everything else looked good on the u/s. What an insensitive jerk!!!
Melanie- my u/s is tomorrow morning. I am so nervous!!! I'll let you know what happens when I get back. I'm glad they are switching up your protocol- maybe that will be the magic ticket!!!!
I'm a little worried about Laurie from this board. She posted yesterday on the March 08 that she woke up to some spotting and they had moved her u/s to today, instead of next week. It's 10:00 PM in England, but she hasn't posted all day. I hope she's okay.

hello Jen, Brandi, Melanie and everyone else still reading this thread --

thanks for keeping those of us back in the waiting game informed about how things are going for you.
Can only imagine how worried you guys are that everything will be fine - So glad to hear -- so far, so good!
Good luck with the u/s on Wednesday, Jen!

Do hope everything is okay with Laurie! I'm thinking about her and wishing her the best.

This 2ww I've been on to see the doctor again has just been dragging on and on. We "finally" have our appt. on Thursday.

Melanie, I did have 3 acupuncture sessions with my last IVF - after the ER, then before and after transfer. I didn't know I was getting it - the doctor just appeared and stuck needles here and there -- thought DH would faint, but he was okay -- Since I'd never had it before, when I asked what this was for, the doctor told me that it was very good for blood circulation.
I plan to ask the doctor more questions about it when I am there on Thursday and if I learn anything new, I'll let you know.

Take care, ladies!
xx Amy

Hi girls.

Awww!! Yay for Laurie...so glad to hear that.

Brandi, your doc was being a jerk. After suffering such a loss it's perfectly natural to be worried about every little thing. Does he know that you suffered this loss? He should be ashamed!

Jen, I thougth it was Wed all day today!! Good luck in the AM!!!

Amy, Good luck at your appt on Thursday. I hope it goes well!
I think I might do the acupuncture...it can't hurt. But it's just more money, more money, more money!

I thought at 35 I'd be financially secure with a family, not draining every last bit of money we had to try to get one started! Frustrating!
