Hello, girls.

For each of my IUI process (5 in total), I was taking progesterone. I was also taking it with my first year of TTC, during which I had another doctor, who I don't want to remember!!!! So, I am used to it by now!!!
All this time, I never had headaches from progesterone. My sideeffects are sore boobs, weakness during the first days and bloated tummy.
But, ofcourse, everyone is different. After the transfer, I have pains in my lower back and some mild period pains that come and go.
As for the cramps and sickness, my doctor says that these kind of symptoms are due to bloated ovaries... But, of course, I am not a doctor, everyone is different and we are from different countries!!! Drugs are not all the same!!

I would very much like to know some of your history! How many times IVF, how many eggs this time etc. If you want, that is!!!!
Good luck to everyone. I won't stop wishing good luck, until we get the BFPs!!!

fertility history

Hi Alex! My name is Traci and have been ttc for about 3 years. This is my first IVF/ICSI cycle. I was diagnosed with moderate endometriosis Nov. 2006. I went through 3 failed IUI's from 12/06-3/06. I am 33 and my dh is 34. I did conceive in 1998 naturally but had a m/c @ 6weeks with my 1st husband. I have been trying to be very optimistic and have a PMA during this process hoping it will help. I had 7 eggs retrieved on 7/21, and ET on 7/24. I had 5 embies and put back 2(8-cell and 6-cell) Will get the call today if will be able to freeze the other 3. I feel on Aug.3 we will both post back with great news of a BFP :!: :!: I think this is our time. Well, good luck and lots of baby dust to you!!

Hi Alex. Well the reason I am not optimistic I suppose is because I'm being influenced by the first disappointment, plus Frozen Embryo Transfers are meant to have an even lower success rate than fresh transfers. Also I was disappointed because we had nine eggs in freeze and they had to thaw six to get two good ones, so that means less opportunities. I know I'm being too pessimistic as there is no reason why this time shouldnt work, even if the chances are low, but the first time I was very optimistic and the disappointment was immense! Anyway enough about me, what about you, how many eggs did they transfer, do you have any in freeze?

Tracey-Glad you sound so optimistic!! You give away good energy!! I am not an especially optimistic person myself, so...
Wish you a big, fat BFP!!

Angela, of course there is no reason not to be optimistic!!! And about Frozen embryo trasnfer, the doctor of the IVF center told us that the success rates are not lower. He says that the fact that the embryos survive thawing means that they are strong! I don't know...
I agree with you that being very optimistic makes the disappointment much, much worse! But I believe that having bad phsycology doesn't do good either... All that easier said than done, of course!!!!

As for me, we had 10 eggs. 8 fertilized, we put 3 back and froze 5. The only thing that gives me hope is that we have the 5 frozen. So, if we do not succeed this time, the second time will be easier for me and cheaper!!!! We are not rich and we made sacrifices to raise the money for this IVF. So, I am anxious about the money, too!!

Lot's of baby dust to all of us!!! Image

Thanks Alex, tell your doctor he has given me hope!!!

Wow, that is a very good number. FET is definitely a lot easier on your body, so at least you aren't suffering and can carry on as normal. But you may be lucky and not even have to go that far

I had a bit of hyperstimmulation first time round, I don't know if you are having any problems like that? They say it is a good sign, it's just very uncomfortable.

We are going away this weekend to take my mind off it all a little.

GOOD LUCK AND LOTS OF PRAYERS...

Hello, Angela!!

I hope you're feeling a bit better!! I, myself, don't feel really great, to be honest.

As for hyperstimmulation... I don't know. First days after ET I felt lower back pains and was very bloated. Now, I think that the back pains are from doing nothing all this time!!! I am still a little bloated, but not as much. I suffer from hot flashes, due to progesterone and sometimes I feel mild pain, like my period is coming...Thank God, nothing yet!!!

Have a great time this weekend!

Hi Alex, what you are experiencing all sounds pretty normal and its nothing to worry about unless the bloating gets really bad and you feel actual pain, then I would go to the doctor to get checked out.

We didnt have such a great weekend. Lots of rain! Apart from that I'm fine apart from wondering whether it has worked...

Good luck for Friday but I will probably write before then...
