Hi girls -

I POAS-ed this morning, 9dp3dt. It's positive! I'm still in shock. I woke up my husband at 4:00 am to show him. He was a little peeved that I didn't wait, but happy nonetheless. I'm almost afraid to be happy.

I hope the same for both of you, too.

Lightcoming -

Don't be discouraged. My positive was very, very, very faint. It might just be too early.

Congratulations Andrea! How exciting. When's your blood test? Soon I think. I have my blood work on Thursday. I haven't tested at home yet. I'm considering doing it tomorrow, or Tuesday which would be ~9dp3dt, but at the same time getting that negative even if it was just because it was too early would be really tough to take. I don't want to be thinking negative thoughts right now you know! But I doubt I'll really be able to hold out very long. Do you feel any different? I don't feel any different than I normally do, but I know I shouldn't read too much into that because I guess it's not unusual not to have symptoms at this point. But I'm kind of wishing I had some symptoms even if they were bad ones.

lightcoming, Don't worry about the test. Just wait for the blood work. That's probably why my RE said not to even test at home, it's so disappointing if it's not positive, and at this point it might not even mean anything!

Thanks girls!

My blood test is Friday. Of course, even though I got a positive, I'm still a little worried that something will go wrong. I don't think that little fear will ever go away.

There are a few things that are different, but I don't know if they are related to pregnancy or not. The one thing that definitely seems different and related to pregnancy is my cramps. I usually get cramps before my period, but these feel different. It's like a tight, heavy feeling in my uterus. I also have had a major headache for a few days (ever since I started on the estrogen patches, so that probably explains that). My gums hurt and my mouth is watering more (which might be from having sore gums).

Anyway, good luck to both of you. I read numerous posts of women who got negative HPTs and then get a positive beta.

I just spent a bunch of time going back to past posts on this forum and I think that I've decided that I'm not going to POAS before my blood test on Thursday. If of course I can force myself not to do it. I was on the fence before, but there are so many woman who just devastate themselves with a HPT only to find out that they are pregnant after all. I don't think I want to go through that roller coaster ride. I'm on one anyway, but I think I'm going to try to avoid making it worse. That said, I don't know how I'm going to keep myself from doing it!!! And I may break down, but I'm going to hold out as long as I can!

Lightcoming, It might make you feel better to read some of those old posts, I'm telling you there were lots of people who even tested the day before or the day of their blood work and the HPT didn't recognize the positive that came from the blood work. So don't loose faith yet!

Hey girls -

Hoping - That's probably the best approach. Even though I got a bfp, I'm still neurotic about the lightness/darkness of the test. This morning I was convinced it was getting lighter. I won't even tell you how many I've taken! ugh. You're right, no matter what, you're better off waiting until the blood test. My RE moved my test up to tomorrow.

Are either of your on estrogen patches? I am and let me tell you, they are giving me killer headaches. I couldn't even think straight today. That's why I contacted my doctor. I wanted to make sure that it's not an indication of something dangerous.

Good luck. I have my fingers crossed.

andrea-

how exciting that your blood test is today! Headaches or not, it must be nice to be able to end your wait earlier. I'm not on an any estrogen, patch or otherwise. I only have the progesterone shots each evening. But it wouldn't surprise me at all that the hormones would give you bad headaches. I got nasty headaches on the Lupron, but I was able to take tylenol to get rid of them since I knew I wouldn't be hurting anything.

I can't wait to hear how your blood work goes! I'm crossing my fingers for you!!!

Hey girls -

My beta was 64. The nurse said it's ok since it's relatively early and that I can stop the estrogen now (no more headaches!). I have to wait until a week from this Friday for my second blood test (geez a little mercy!). Anyway, I'm hopeful.

I've got everything crossed for you two. Good luck!! Let me know!

Congratulations andrea!!!!! I think you can definitely consider that a very positive thing! And no more headaches, that's great too! I'm surprised htey are making you wait so long before your second beta. I guess that's a good sign, unless they always do that. I'd think if they were concerned about it they would have you come in sooner. So good news with that too.

Here's a good website about beta levels. I think you're probably right on track so far with your pregnancy. That's right, girl, pregnancy! :) You must be so happy!!!!!

I'm still dying to take a HPT, but I've forced myself not to do it. I just have to make it through one more day! And then the long wait that comes with test day. Ughhh
