Quick post to say that EC went smoothly yesterday - surprised to get 5 eggs - follicles must have caught up after all. Looking forward to either a positive result or getting my life back (booze, the gym, thinking about anything other than ivf!).
Vickyp how did the call go with Lavery? Really not your fault by the way - I would have done the same being convinced that my tubes dont work.
Bernie - good luck with the first injection I promise you will be hugely relieved to find out that it is not painful at all.
Angel - afraid Im with Lavery also - but heard good things about Trew.

ET is this morning - up early - strangely can't sleep (!).
Turned out only 3 of the 5 eggs were mature - but the good news is that all of them fertilised.
Nervous to find out if they've made it over the weekend and what quality they are.
Trying to keep up beat and calm - i-pod is in my bag - wonder if they will let me wear it during transfer??
Bernie - how did the injection go?

Don't forget - just decide that you are pregnant as soon as you've had it done. I can't see why you shouldn't have an i pod at transfer. I hope it goes well.
I'm still waiting for a call back from Lavery - left a message for him on Thursday but still not heard anything. Vicky

Transfer went very smoothly - have finally sussed having a 'comfortably' full bladder as opposed to a really uncomfortably full one.
Had 2 transferred - 1, 5 cell + 1, 6 cell (day 3 trans) both average/grade 2. (the third was only 3 cells so a bit of a duff)
Slept all afternoon - relieved we made with 2 to transfer I think!
Would love to hear of anyone who's got a BFP with average embs.

You chill out now for two weeks. My embies were only 2 and 3 cell when they were transferred and I had Ollie from that go. They were frozen at one cell - they didn't grade them so I can't help there. I am willing you to be pregnant though! Vicky

Great news Mags, take it easy over the next few weeks and lots of luck. Have you got some nice things planned to help keep your mind off it? I agree with Vicky - keep a positive vibe that its all going to be just fine. Just think you could have twins in there, how amazingly exciting!!
Vicky, so sorry you had your worse fears confirmed. Experience says Lavery isnt good at calling back, his secretary guards him rather, so you may need to make an appointment to see him.
Yes, this is my first time, my injections are going ok so far, my dh is doing them for me, so I just have to look away! I am on Buserelin at the moment, my blood test & scan is due 7th August to check things have slowed down, and then Gonal F next. We have found my legs take the needle best but havent tried my tummy yet. It feels like a mozzie bite just after!
How are getting on Angel? It can be a slow process getting things going and really frustrating, but you are in good hands.
A Gallagher, I think you are starting any day now?
Take care all of you

Thanks Vicky - love hearing positive stories! Bit rubbish about Lavery not calling you back - there are so many patients going through HH I wonder how much of that kind of contact he gets around too.
Bernie - I certainly am taking it easy - apart from acupuncture I'm not really going anywhere over the next week - not even working at the mo - just pottering quite happily.
Well done on the injections - impressed that your dh is trustworthy enough - wouldn't let mine near the needle!
Right - I'm back to the sofa. Still very very bloated - nothing fits - so watching trash tv in pyjamas is the order of the day.

Bernie - good luck with jabbing my dh did mine too I've used tummy leg and bum anywhere I got flab really.
Mags - on my last cycle my embies were average and slow dividers and I got BFP which sadly ended in eptopic but not embies fault they jut got lost. Take it easy and look after yourself.
Angel - welcome, do you mean Mr Trew if so he's fab I under him very honest to the point and approachable.
I have my appointment with IVI Madrid on the 30th Aug, my flights and hotel is booked, just hope all goes well and waiting list not too long.
Take care

Great to hear that you got BFP with average embs too - sometimes I fear I can be a bit hard on myself and negative so it really helps to hear the positive stuff (albeit with the ectopic but like you say, not the embs fault).
Very interested to see how it goes with the HH + Madrid combo. We contemplated going to Spain at the start (either Valencia or Madrid) as they seem to have better success rates/be cheaper - also my mum's Spanish and lives in Valencia now so we'd have somewhere to stay. (and if donor route beckons - that's what we'd do too).
I also speak Spanish. I'm sure they all speak English and stuff but if you did need any help with any language stuff don't hesitate to ask.
Nothing much to report from me - still 2 week waiting. I seem to think about IVF almost all the time - wake up thinking about it. Arrgghh! Even trying to meditate but am rubbish at it. I'm off to my sister's today to do some work on a charity thing we're involved in (watch out for event in Trafalgar Sq called 'Journey' end of Sep against sex traffiking/slavery!)- good opportunity to do some work that isn't really work - a good distraction.

Just wondering - how soon is OK to test? Friday before last was EC - if that was day 1 - today is day 11. Is tomorrow OKish? My blood test is on Friday - day 15. Just want to do something - even though I'll have to test again and again.
I've also been getting cramping from about a day or two after ET - didn't get that last time so working myself up into a frenzy of optimism (dangerous!?). Last night woke up at 5am convinced that my period had started - but nothing. Wondering if I'm imagining things - and losing it!
How's everyone doing?

Just a quick one as I'm working (or not as the case indeed is!)
Vicki - Hooray that you're all booked in - very excitng - and nice time of year to go.
Mags - Well done for trying to distract yourself. I know everyone says don't do a HPT but when I got pregant with Ollie - I tested about 3 days before my test date with a super early test stick that I got online (very cheap). I had a very inconclusively faint line, I then tested everyday till test and it got clearer and clearer each time. I couldn't stand the idea of the shock when I spoke to the people from Hammers on the phone - I just wanted to have an idea either way what to expect. Of course if do do it early and it's negative it's really important not to think it's over - cos it might not be.
Tell us what you decided - Love Vicky

Oops I did a test this morning. Think I'm on day 12 (confused as to whether ec is day 0 or day 1) - so it's too early I know but I wanted to get rid of this horrible digital test that says 'not pregnant' - going out to buy the ones with the lines in a minute.
Vicki - I also much prefer to be let down in stages - don't fancy that stomach sinking phone call without any warning.
Well it said 'not pregnant' - still upsetting seeing those words but I know it's too early. DH telling me so too. He's actually got his hands on the Robert Winston book about IVF - reading me stuff over the phone from work about 'flare protocol' - which I'd like to try for the next one. Anyone any experienc of that? Lavery said I could have reduced ovarian response so that seems like a possible route - and if it's shorter (time-wise) that would be great.
I'll test again tomorrow with the lines one - and hope for a even a faint something!

Yes Too Early - your pregnancy test may not be able to tell that early. My first one the line was so faint anyone but a stupidly optomistic moron like me would have thought it was negative so don't give up hope yet. You could order some super sensitive ones online today - I got these - see below. They can detect really tiny amounts of HCG and I seem to remember them being delivered in 24 hours. DON'T GIVE UP. Vicky.

Haven't quite lost hope - but have chilled out and come down to earth a bit. Even managed not to test this morning - more interested in breakfast. DH wants me to wait till Friday so I'll do my best on that - but will definately get some of those tests in for next time (if there is a next time of course!).
