How soon to try again after chemical pregnancy?

Post by wattsjl »

I found out July 10 when we were 6 weeks pregnant that there was no heartbeat. Does anyone know how soon we can try again with FET? I miscarried on my own beginning July 15 and am now waiting for my first normal period. My dr. said not to call him until I had 2 normal periods and we could maybe try on the 3rd period???

Sorry to hear about your loss

I don't know about a chemical pregnancy. But we did conceive once naturally (but not since--that's why we are doing treatments) and I miscarried at between 8-9 weeks. My OBGYN told me to wait for 2 periods. Don't know if this helps, but maybe is a similar scenerio

Let me tell you about my experience. We did a fresh cycle and it failed. I had to wait for my period after the failed cycle and we started the FET. SO, I would say it was pretty much back to back. It worked for us. I am now 28 weeks pregnant. It might be a little different as you had a chemical pregnancy.
Good Luck and hang in there

Wattsjl,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. It sure is hard. i have done IVF 5 times at 2 different clinics and 3 of those times I had a chemical pregnancy. In the first clinic they made me wait 2 periods and in the second clinic I could start the first period after the miscarriage bleeding. So it really depends on the clinic.
I think that is you miscarry naturally you are in a better condition to start again sooner but your clinic's policy may be 2 or 3 cycles.
I like you wanted to know when i could try again because it was the way that I was abel to deal with the loss.
We will be going for our first FET (the 5 cycles were all fresh) next month so hopefully the outcome will be a positive one!
Best of luck!

Hi, I have had 2 chemicals both from FET's, my clinic make us wait until after 2 AF's before we start again. If it was a straight negative we can follow straight on. I think they do this to let both our bodies and minds recover.
Good luck to you on your next attempt.

Firstly I'm really sorry, as if we don't have enough to deal with as it is....
My dr told me the same as yours, I had to have 3 periods before FET took place. I know it seems a life time away now but it will come just try to stay positive, my fet worked!!!

Goodluck
