I am supposed to be 8 weeks preg., but while there is 1 gestational sac and two (sacs inside, I am guessing they are the start of the placentas?). However, there doesn't seem to be any embryos attached. My RE and OB think it is a bad preg., but said we could wait another week and see what happens.
Has anyone ever had this happen of heard of anyone it happened to with a positive healthy pregnancy result? I keep thinking that maybe because there are twins in the same sac, they are developing slower? The doctors are saying it is probably fraternal twins because I did IVF (how is this possible that they are in the same sac?)
I look forward to your replies.

Thanks for your kind words and reply. No, they didn't. As far as my RE is concerned, I am now under the OB's care becaue I need a D&C. My OB agrees, but said I could wait a week. She never tests like the RE does, so I am guessing she is not expecting the miracle I am hoping for. My last beta on the day I found out there was a problem was very high. I have been doing some reading and think this is called a blighted ovum, however none of my doctors used this term.
