1st scan question

i just wondered when you go for your seven week scan is it an internal scan or external thanks love diane

Hi Diane - with my 1st treatmeant over 2 years ago now it was an internal scan. Not painful or anything though.

Hi Diane - my scan is tomorrow and they've told me it's an internal scan - I'm scared in case they prod anything they shouldnt but I know I'm just being paranoid - they wouldnt do them internally if they weren't OK would they?? Probably nothing would show on an external scan so early. I'll let you know tomorrow how it goes - appointment is at 10:30 so I should be back at work around 11:15-ish I'm sure. Hi Diane I think you'll find it's exactly the same kind of scan as that used for checking your ovaries during stims. Don't worry about it - it really is not that bad!! Best of luck. Helen xx

thanks girls my sis had external scan at 6 weeks, but hers was normal preg jo good luck for your scan 2morrow,im sure your right they would not do them if they wernt safe,i just dont like anything messing about up there wont even let my dh near lol let me no how you go love di

When I had my scan done it was an internal one because they say it would be to early to do it external. Its nothing your not used to, its the same sort of thing that they use to check your follicles etc.... Good Luck Love Shell. xx

Hi Diane Yes, it will be an internal scan as it's too early for them to see the pregnancy by an external scan yet. Don't worry, if it could do your baby(s) any harm they wouldn't do it I'm sure. Just relax! Good luck, Luv Rachel X (27 wks + 1 day with twins)
