FET cycle buddies

Post by 2ndtimer »

Hi Ladies,
I should be starting a FET cycle next week depending on when AF shows up. Is anyone else? It might be better to go through it with others. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best of luck to everyone! :D

Hi 2nd Timer,

I too will be starting my FET whenever AF shows up. It should arrive late next week but who knows. It would be great to have some cycle buddies. I have done 5 IVF cycles so far but they've all be fresh - I've never done a FET so I am excited. I've heard they are so much easier that a fresh cycle which will be great!
Have you ever done one before?

Yes, I've done one before at a different clinic. It was much easier. With this new clinic, I'm going to be on a lot more meds & a whole new protocal. Plus I'm having accupuncture. It should still be much easier than a fresh IVF cycle, and I have to say, I'm getting excited & feeling really hopeful.
The hardest part has been the wait to start!

How many cycles have you done up now? What drugs and protocol have they put you on this round? Sorry for all the questions but this is new to me so I don't have a lot of information.

I know I'll be on estrace for 10 days (started on day 1 of AF) and then once my lining is at least 0.8 mm they'll start me on progesterone for 6 days - then the transfer. We are having blasts transferred - I just hope they thaw alright.

How many will you be transferring?

I have 3 frozen embies. I'm hoping at least 2 survive the thawing. Last time only 1 out 2 survived & then it didn't work.
This time on day 2 of my cycle I'll start with a delestrogen injection, insert a estring, & also be taking a steriod daily. I get another shot on day 5, then labs & u/s on day 8. I think that's it other than taking an aspirin & prenatal vitamins. Knowing the clinic I'm now going to, after day 8 I wouldn't be surprised if they want me in for frequent labs & who knows what all medicines. I know I'll be on the progesterone injections after transfer. They seem to be very proactive at the clinic I go to now. Plus I'm on a refund program so they have to give me $18000 back if I don't get pregnant by next April.
It's very different from the last FET. I think I had lupron injections & had little estrogen dot patches that I put on every 3 days, then after the transfer progesterone shots.
I was sorry to hear that you've been through 5 ivf's, but I guess I'm just assuming that they were all unsuccessful? Hopefully not?

Sadly all five attempts have been unsuccessful. I have had three chemical pregnancies but nothing that lasted longer than 5 weeks. It sure has been a roller coaster. I've been given a glimmer of hope with the FET as I've been told that some women respond better to the FET because the drugs don't throw off your body like a fresh cycle. Who knows. I guess I'll find out in a month.
Best of luck with your FET! I, like you, have three frozen and am hoping that at least 2 make it through the thaw. I guess you don't find out until the day of transfer which makes it very hard if there is nothing left.
Let me know when you start!

Hello,
I am doing FET as well, I have my transfer tenatively on aug 10th. My first IFV ICSI resulted in negative, so i have 9 frozen embies, but they froze them right after the retrieval, so i don't knnow how they are going to develop during a thaw out process, we will see...
Good luck to you guys !!!!

I had my weekly US today and everything looks good so far. I have another one in a week and then i am going for the transfer on the 10th ( if the embies will survive the thaw). Kinda tired of Lupron injections ( i am paranoyed that i will forget to do it everyday) but overall FET is easy.
Donna, i left you a message on the april cycle buddies but Congrats again on your FET!!

Hello Ladies-

I too am going to be doing an FET sometime in the near future. I should be starting AF in a day or two. It will be my 5th IVF, second frozen. The good news is, I had PGD done, so the three frozens I have left (two girls, one boy) should be chromosomally normal.

Let's hope, because after 5 IUIs, 4 IVFs and one miscarriage, my partner and I are looking for some good news!

Hello,
We thawed two embies, both survived. Both compacting and the Embryologist said they looked really good.

We also did assisted hatching...
I hope I am prego!

Good Luck
