Hi Ladies, hope everyone Ok. Sorry haven't posted much recently, have been lurking though!

Bev, good to hear Wills is fine. Looking forward to seeing a photo. Doesn't the time fly by? I would be grateful on any advice on how to use photobucket, I am totally in the dark when it comes to IT stuff.

Hi Kat, how are you? Was Singapore good fun? Isn't the weather absolute pants? I just popped to Waitrose in Surbiton and got completely drenched! What has happened to our Summer? Are you preparing for a transfer in Sept ? Good luck with whatever you decide x

Amy, hugs to you, sorry to see your BFN. x

Hi and welcome to JIV in FL, you have come to the right place for advice and support. These ladies are fantastic. Wishing you good luck with your next cycle.

Kim, sorry your ED didn't work out as planned. PMA to you as you wait.

Yasmina, good to see you post. How is Eloise today? Matthew is doing fine, growing by the minute! He is feeding and sleeping well. I am planning on BF as long as I can, until he is at least 8 months old. He has found his thumb and spends many a happy hour sucking away....so cute! Will try to post a picture. My AF reappeared when Matthew was 3 months old.

Big J, I remember you from last year. Good luck with number 2.

Hi Tammy, how is Andrew? Well done on your weight loss. I haven't weighed myself since before I was pg....but I can fit back into my normal clothes so I must have lost enough by now!

Hello to Sonia, Jen and all lovely ladies here.
Take care
Bye for now

Hi all

Glad to see everyone is OK despite this stupid weather we're having over here. Welcome to LIV in FL - bet your weather is better than here in the UK! Not much to report from me, trying not to think about making any decisions. Been a bit down, cried in Clinton's yesterday reading birthday cards for DH, he is away, the words were so nice in the card they made me cry. Must be hormones. Or I am losing the plot.

Apart from that, my holiday was fab, my birthday was lovely, my sister from Singapore then came over here and we had a lovely time but she has gone again now, won't see her 'til the Spring if I go out there. Not helping with the down feeling. Sorry to be so miserable. If the sun comes out for more than 5 mins before it starts raining again then at least I can get some fresh air which should help lift the mood.

Speak soon
love to all
Kat xx

hello Kat,
Sorry to hear you are feeling a bit down these days -- I'm sure the weather isn't helping. From the pictures they show on TV, looks just awful in Britian at the moment -- Do hope it clears up soon and the sun comes out!
Stay warm and dry in the meantime! Belated birthday wishes to you!
Take care,
Amy

bev let us know when phot's are on photot bucket...can't wait to see x x

Sorry i have not been posting much ...
I am off on hols next week before flying (2nd aug )to barcelona for 1st DE appointment. Excited about it but realisticaly know tmt might not start for 2 months or so.

Hope they give me some meds to help AF. Have been low due to AF playing hide and seek...feel that menopause is near as it's been 6 wks since last AF...I have had no menopause symptoms except hormone headache and many cramps. Some show of blood still every 3 or so days but no real flow. Hormones or lack of are totally getting me down. Hate this feeling, like just before i come on i get highly strung emotionally. Then it is okay only to get that feeling come back 3 days later...annoyingly :? Defo lack of progesterone there and no ovulation this month. anyway just thought i'd come on here and moan to you guys ... sorry

anyway will hopefully have some good news for you all when i come back on the 5th Aug...try and catch you all before then

love jen

Hi Ladies,
apologies in advance for the long post about ME....

Back from the doctor and am in a bit of a holding pattern, but in a good way -- ??

Seems the doctor wants to try to find the reason why at least one of the embies didn't decide to stick, because apparently the hormone tests he did along with the Beta suggest that one tried to dig in for a bit... He thinks it possibly has something to do with my ability, or rather lack of ability to absorb key vitamins, minerals and important hormones, like estrogen and therefore create/not create the right environment for implantation....Guess these things just flow in and flow back out...so, after I undergo more tests he'll decide on the next course of treatment to try and maximize my chance of success.

Don't know if it is all just talk, know what I mean? Just a way to keep my hope alive?? Or, just trust him and go for it...??

For now, he's starting me on DHEA...I know, a controversial treatment, especially in the US, but becoming increasingly more common for women over 40...but it is supposed to help promote natural estrogen production in the ovaries...and I'll hopefully have none of the bad side effects...
I read an article today where they referred to this treatment as doping for the ovaries...guess I'm very trendy...just like those tour de france cyclists...

Well, he and his staff are off on vacation for the next 6 weeks and I'll get my tests done and enjoy the rest of the summer and we'll meet again in September. Depending on what the tests show, I'll start in Sept/Oct or 2-3 months after that...But, of course everything will depend on the weather as we have to drive about 4 hours to get to our clinic in Austria...

Funny, he is so confident it will work based on the quality of our egg & sperm combo, I can't help but be positive --
Man, I hope he's right that it really can work!
At least he's doing more research and it feels like he's trying to help us realize our dream to become a little family...and hasn't just said, okay, let's just try again!

Comments??

Hope everyone else is doing well on their journey.
All the best to the mothers and their babies. You are the ones who really give me hope and a positive feeling.

All the best,
Amy xx

Hello Ladies
It's been a while, but I have been reading your postings. I really enjoy this site it is so helpful.

I started my lupron injections on the 21st, not really enjoying the shots but I'm trying to make the best of it. I've been going to my doctor visits about twice a week now, they are preparing my uterus for the IVF transfer. I had a mock transfer done last week and afterwards there was cramping and slight bleeding. But other than that there was no pain. I am now going through what they call a mock cycle, for about the next two weeks I will do this. I was told I should have the IVF transfer done around the 2nd week in September. I will using a donor and they are now preparing our bodies to get in sinc. Our cycles have to be around the same time.

Amy my doctor put me on DHEA a month a go. I have about a week to go and I will be done taking them. I didn't have any side effects, but my doctor said they helped me. Don't give up on your dream. I believe if your doctor didn't think you had a chance of getting pregnant he wouldn't of suggested other avenues. From the very beginning my doctor told me there are so many other ways of helping women over 40 who are trying to conceive. So speak possitive and think possitive no matter what.
Hope this helps.

Good morning Ladies:

Yasmina: Please provide advice on feeding your baby solids!!!! Andrew had been sleeping 5-7 hours most nights, but now is back to 2-4!!!!!!! I'm exhausted and have started him on solids. I've just done 1T of rice cereal with 1tsp of bananas twice a day. I've tried to increase his serving size to 2T, but he does not eat it all. What and how much did you feed Eloise at the beginning? Any advice would be welcome. I NEED SLEEP!!!!!!!!

Sorry that I do not have time for personals.

Hello to everyone.

Regards,
Tammy

Hello Gaile,

thanks for your reassuring advice. You are absolutely right, speaking and thinking positive no matter what is something I should be doing starting now.
How much DHEA were you taking every day? I'm happy to hear that it has helped you! I imagine I will be on it for 2-3 months.

Good luck with your treatment and your upcoming transfer in September!

Hi everyone-
It's been about a month or so since I posted. Sorry, been busy as always.
I wish I had more time to not only read the posts with loverly advice, but then reply. However, I just don't seem to have the luxury of personal time these days. Deadline at work trying to meet. I'll steel some time here to update ya'll.

Amy and Gaile, I too am on DHEA, have been for several months. I'd like to believe it helps. I just started my second cycle of IVF. The U/S was very encouraging as well were the blood labs :P This go around the meds are a little different. My previous cycle I was on a co-flare protocol. In contrast this cycle is the 'french' protocol. The difference this go around I am not taking lupron injections. The injections I am taking are a combo of FSH and hMG along with daily supplement with the steroid dexamethosone. Cross fingers this works  Have any of you ladies experience with this style of protocol?

Trying to stay relaxed, ACU helps but have had a bit of trouble scheduling that of late. PMA. Funny thing I gave up caffeine and alcohol at the beginning of the year, coincident with our first cycle and I seem to be a more cheerful person. Yeek, caffeine must have had me all twisted tight w/o flexibility.

Wishing everyone all the best. Keep up the excellent posts.
