Starting 1st IVF in August - Scared

Post by alicats121 »

Hi - this is my first time posting. I'm a first time IVF'er --- starting Lupron on Tuesday July 17 and all the other wonderful meds in august  this is my first time doing full ivf - I have a 12 yr old daughter and had a fetal demise at 16 weeks both of these were pregnancies that happened naturally. I have PCOS so do not ovulate frequently or even usually so here we are on the fertility train - I've done one IUI in January, 07 and 2 mini-ivf procedures since but none of them took. I'm very worried about all the medicine I have to take and if it's going to work or not. Anyone else out there feeling this way?

Hi everyone! This is just the board I have been looking for! I am an August cycler as well and I am looking for a group of wonderful cycle buddies such as this one! Unfortunately, I am coming in to this thread late in the game and there are already 79 pages (!) of posts. If possible, is it possible to catch me up to speed?

My story- started bcp yesterday. I am doing the short protocol with Antegon rather than Lupron. Anyone else out there skipping the Lupron? I'm a bit nervous about deviating from the norm, but my doc guarantees that it has the same success rate with less injections. I'm a bit nervous about the injections, but as we all know, the emotional pain far outweighs the physical pain. I will most likely start stimming on or around the 21st of July.

I would love to have a group of women to pass the time with, offer/ask for support and for the many questions that seem to come up!

Thanks!

Marissa and Alicats Welcome!

Support during this time is a necessity. We are all here to support you and I can vouch that the women on this thread are extremely helpful during all stages of this process. I did want to give you a heads up that the title of this thread may be decieving as it was started last August so many of us are pregnant or just had a baby (thankfully). On that same note their are still a few of us who had those god awful BFN's and are going for their next round. We would love to be here for you and answer any questions you have but wanted to make sure you are posting where you want to be.

I also wanted to let you know that are thread has been quite successful with pregnancy's and those who have not received their miracle yet, I think the luck of this thread will rub off on them this next time.

Best of luck,

sam

Hi All - Sunday which was 8 days post transfer I started bleeding. So, of course I freaked out called the DR and he said I could possilby be starting AF. But to continue my progesterone and come in as scheduled on Friday. I only bled a little red blood and now it's just brown spots when I go to the bathroom. If it is AF it would've only be day 21 which doesn't make sense at all. Other postings suggest maybe implementaion bleeding. So, I am so confused and worried. I am just praying that the embryos are implanting as they suggested! Pray for us!

Hi All - I just wanted to tell you that we got a Positive Beta today!!! It was only 79.7 but they said that was perfect. They like to see around 100 but because I tested a day early, they said it was good. I'm still a little nervous cuz I got home and wiped red. But it went away. The nurse said that could be from the progesterone. Please keep praying for us because the next 8 weeks are so important. We need to keep this baby inside & growing! I'll keep you posted!

Oh, Emily, that's just such great news. I'm really thrilled for you. Please keep us posted on your ultrasounds! Congrat's!

Lola - congratulations on bringing home two healthy babies - I'm sure you're tired. After only two nights home, I'm exhausted, I can only imagine what it's like with twins. I'm very happy for you.

Sam - I wish you the best of luck with your second attempt - let us know when you get started, you know we'll be all here to root you on.

Sandra - you've started quite a thread - thanks for getting it started!

Hope everyone else is well - we're finally home from the hospital. I'm really tired but hanging in there. It's just so wonderful to not have to go back and forth everyday - I was basically living at the NICU with my daughter because I wanted to breast feed her (or at least have her get my milk), which meant being there a lot. It is all worth it, though.

Take care to all -

Emily! Congrats on your positive Beta!!!! This is awsome!

I don't have much time to write but thanks for all your notes! Suzhan, you are right, I am also very tired. If I could just sleep more! My mother in law comes every weekend and stays with the babies overnight, so I can get more sleep and my hubby is also great, he takes them in the evening, so I can nap too. But it is all worth it! They are 4 weeks today and in 2 weeks they should start smiling. Nicholas i already lifting his head up when he's on his tummy. And Sophia has really strong legs. They are already 7 and 8 pounds! I am so happy they are gaining weight so well. I have to go and I wish you all the same great experiences with your babies!!!!! Love always Lola

Hi Ladies--She's here!

My little girl made her appearance on Thursday, July 26 at 3:37 am. Olivia Jordan was born via csection and I have to admit, the section wasn't as bad as I imagined. We are both doing well. She is incredible! All the best to everyone.
