no embies to freeze, i have questions, can anyone help?

Post by twc »

I had my ET 7/24 and had 5 embies. Transferred 2 on day 3 and got the call today that my other 3 did not make the blast stage so could not freeze for later. Now i'm concerned that the 2 i put back may not stick. Has anyone ever had a pregnancy after other embies did not make the blast stage.

Hi Traci!

I'm afraid I can't really help with your question as I have not had my BFP yet, but I know that embies do better when they are back inside mommie! Try not to worry! Sending you sticky baby dust!

Traci- Three years ago I underwent my first IVF. They retrieved 8 eggs, 5 of which fertilized. I was so excited thinking if my IVF didn't take, I would have some left over. Well, they transfered 2 eggs, and the other three did NOT make it to blast. I too was devistated. However, I got my BFP two weeks later. I now have a beautiful daughter. So do not worry. I hope you soon get a BFP!

My story is similar to Heathers. On my first IVF attempt They retrieved 19 eggs, 11 fertilised but of those only 2 were grade 2's (which were transferred) the rest were graded at 3 and 4. I had no grade 1 embyo's so held out little hope, but I had a BFP and now have DD who is 2 1/2 years. The rest of the embryos were no good for freezing.
Good Luck and hope you soon get your BFP! There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this IVF game.

Hi Traci

On my 3rd IVF with ICSI (first 2 being BFN) I had 6 eggs with 5 fertilising. They froze 3 straight away and kept 2 out, one made it to day 5 the other didn't so only one was transferred. I am now 37 weeks pregnant with a little girl!! :D

So hang in there!!!

Not to worry Traci, I had the same experiences as the other girls. I had many eggs that looked great and fertilized. I did a five day transfer with two embroys but the others did not make it. I remember being devestated as I was fixated on the frozen ones. Now it is a year later and I just got done playing with my three month old baby girl
