Old Timer returning for attempt no. 6!

Post by Dawn Blake »

To anyone out there I may have contacted between 2000-2004 - hello I am back!

For those I don't hello! My name is Dawn and we are going back on the dreaded rollercoaster to hopefully give our 3 year old daughter Megan a little brother or sister!

Megan was our 5th attempt before and well worth the wait. After having her we were dead set against going for it again and determined to adopt her a little brother/sister and give a little one a loving home, but this country is so rubbish at getting the procedure underway that we have been waiting to attend a crucial workshop for 2 years with no development and have therefore decided to try IVF again.

What's changed???

We will be going back to the Lister (our one successful attempt was through them) and hopefully seeing Sam within the month.

We obviously have to pay again (as with all other others) and wondered if anyone knows or recommends any websites where you can get IVF drugs at discounted rates?

I will be having regular acupuncture (as before) and taking all the usual supplements - anyone specifically suggest anything else, I am sure in the 3/4 years I have been away there have been changes, new tips etc etc.

Wishing everyone on here all the luck in the world, in a weird way it is reallyl good to be back!

D x
Me 34, DH, 37. Married for 11 years, ttc for 6+, failed 4 x fresh IVF tmts. 5th attempt at Lister Hospital gave us Megan on 5 April 2004 with a very straightforward pregnancy and labour. Attempt number 6 to start hopefully September 2007!

Hello Dawn

You were a bit before my time but welcome back. I fully understand your reluctance to go through IVF again and have thought that if my last frostie didn't give me a #2 baby I would call it quits and adopt... having said that this country is rubbish with adoptions so who knows...

Congratulations on baby #1 and good luck with #2!
