Hello Ladies

Am just about off home after another slack day at the office.

I'm feeling just a tad jealous of these mini-vactions going on all around me...weather here is grey and appalling, I'd love to go somewhere but given that Perth is in the middle of freaking nowhere, it is usually a major undertaking to go anywhwere interesting.

Mego, your mum's place on the lake sounds very appealing. I have to say I never pictured you as the tanned type. In my (ovbiously overactive) imagination you were more of a gothic/ alternative type...ha ha oh well guess I got that one wrong...As far as the C section goes, I guess I don't like having my options taken away from me. I wouldn't elect to do a C section so don't want to be forced to have one. Plus am really scared of the epidural and I understand you have to have one if you are having a C section...thanks for the drink tip on the GD test, I will insist on it being served chillled. Hope they don't think I'm a princess! I've done that GTT test before a couple of years ago when diagnosed with PCOS but at that time was not diabetic or insulin resistant....Due date is 31 October. Honestly no names picked out yet. I think we're still too scared to get to that point. Poor kid will be born and will have to be known as Noggin until we think of a name...Oh well, enjoy the baby shower, sounds like a good time...

Sass, I think that the test I will be doing is the glucose challenge test which is a non-fasting one with the test being done after one hour of the sweet drink. If I fail that then I go onto the glucose tolerance test which is the fasting one and the test being done about three hours after....as indicated above, I did one of those a couple of years ago. I was starving after fasting for all of about 12 hours. I remember dashing from the lab to a nearby bakery only to be accosted by some elderly neighbours who insisted on a lengthy chat and all I could do was stare at all of the bread products, starving, while they droned on.. and on...That smoothie sounds "interesting". I have to say the spinach is a bold choice. Good on you for getting healthy though, I found that if nothing else I was in a much better frame of mind for getting healthy on the second go of IVF. But as Meg says, don't stress about the 5lbs, you sound like a very healthy person anyway so I'm sure you don't need to lose it at all...

Angie, glad to hear you survived your skiing. Getting trapped on a slope sounds a tad scary. Being a very novice skiier I can tell you that in those circumstances I usually end up sliding down the mountain on my ass. Mount Buller eh? Last year the snow was a bit low so I hope you had good snow falls to soften any landings...

Have a great weekend stripping wall paper and looking after young children. Sounds like you are back to reality with a vengeance!

To all other sisters, wake up!

Hey girls! Sorry it has been so long I've been a bit under the weather. I hope my energy comes back soon! Our AC broke so the hot weather in the house did not help my yucky feeling! The good news was part of it was under warrenty still, the bad news was it still cost almost $1000 to fix the rest, the badder news was they had to order parts and they took 2 days to get in, the worser news was when the parts came in a monsoon hit TX and they wouldn't fix it in the rain. Three days in a hot house with a very hairy dog was quite miserable! That is my sob story.

On a better note DH and I have booked a vacation to California in a few weeks. I am ready to get away for a while! The only down side of this is the outlaws are tagging along. MIL won't go to L.A. because she thinks Hollywood is the next target for an attack in the U.S. I didn't even know how to respond to that when she said it! Dh has promised we will drive there for a day trip since we will be close.

Meg- your mother's house sounds fab. Relax and enjoy! You are getting so close to the end. It has gone by fast! Are you nervous?

Mel- your meal sounded great! Sorry the little pup caused such a commotion when you got home! You are right though puppies are great practice for getting up in the middle of the night. Mine sure was when she was a pup.

Angie- don't work too hard this weekend. I HATE stripping wallpaper! I will tile, paint, lay wood floor, even hang wallpaper- but don't ask me to strip it! it is just a pain.

Sassy- I wish I had your strength when it comes to eating healthy and exercising. It just isn't my thing. I go through phases but it rarely lasts very long. Only 2 weeks until it all begins. Good luck!

Fee- glad everything sounds good with you. Noggin is a boy right? We'll have to come up with some names. Speaking of that I need to start calling mine something other than "it". dh calls it Monkey because he thinks the U/S picture looks like a monkey. I don't see it.

Gotta run- Dh will be home soon and i need to look productive!! Hee Hee!

Hello ladies. I am still here. I went on vacation to Missouri, and while there my father-in-law passed away...fairlly unexpectedly. So, we had to travel about 1300 miles to take care of all the arrangements. NOT FUN.
I have been reading about you guys, just haven't felt like I had much to say.
did talk to my dr....post bfn. He said he thinks everything is going to be a gofor nex summer. He didn't think I would need to have surery to remove my endo, just my polyp. So, that was good. I asked if he thought I should do another fresh cycle, as I had 2 decent eggs, and 2 not so decent eggs frozen. he said no, he thought i should do a FET. so, next summer I will have lots of questions for all you guys.

Mel- That meal sounded so yummy. I can't say I have ever had a "fancy" dinner like that. I am not sure how I would act.
I promise Bellini will eventually sleep through the night. I was shocked to hear that she went to the bathroom in her crate. Our dogs have NEVER gone in there. We were told really they wouldn't because it was there home and where they slept. You just never know.

Fee- As far as the c-section goes...don't worry if you have to have one. When I was pregnant with DD, she refused to turn. Also I had a low-line placenta. They had warned me that I would have to have a c-section. Well, at the last minute dd turned and the placenta got into place. I was so excited as I wanted to have a totally natural delivery. Well, things never seem to goes as planned with me. I started bleeding really heavily and had a c-section. It was a piece of cake. I was even up and walking in less than 12 hours. I was upset for having to have the spinal, but I got a beautiful daughter out of the whole thing.

Sassy- Proud of you for trying to lose weight. Seems like we are always trying to do that. I am in the process of trying. However, I have come to the conclusion that I like food way too much. Have doen pretty good this week working out...but am always hungry. Any suggestions?
I did like the souds of your smoothie...well, minus the spinach.

meg- Mom's house sounds lovely. Would love to just sit by the lake and relax. I used to love to tan as well...used to be a lifeguard. However, as I have gotten older I just can't stand to be in the sun. So, needless to say I glow in the dark year round. Oh well.

Jen- so sorry to hear about being without AC. Living in TX, I can completely sympothize with you. We lost pour one night for about 4 hours, and I almost had to sit in the car to get AC. So, going a few days would have killed me.
Am quite jealous of your California vacation. We went there every year from the time I was about until 18. Haven't been since. I just loved doing all the Disneyland stuff. Someday we will go back there....wanting to wait until dd can remember it though.

Well, I hope everyone else is doing well. I will try to be a better poster.

I am not dead... but am finally back to civilization. We ended up staying a few extra days and then I came home to find out that my floors weren't done. (I was having all of the hardwood floors refinished while we were gone....) So then we camped in the backyard for a few days. Seriously not one of our better ideas. I have now officially shot up EVERYWHERE and this morning had my retrieval. We got to move back in and now finally have computer access. Sorry to kill the thread. They retrieved 27 and 22 fertilized but we will get more numbers tomorrow. I feel horrible so I am going to bed and then will check in with personals tomorrow. Night night...

Sass - Thanks for the support. Was feeling quite yucky today, but tonight not having as much cramping and bloating. I have also been watching Flight of the Conchords and laughing so that has to be helping. When do you start your lupron? Are you on it now? What does your schedule look like?? Lets get some dates so we can track you this month.

Angie - Do you remember how I was complaining months back about stripping wallpaper?? I had real success by mixing Downey (liquid fabric softener) and warm water. I used a 50 50 ratio and just soaked the walls with the mixture in a water bottle. I then got smarter and put it in one of those larger tank sprayers that you use in your yard for weeds. It went much faster. You let it sit for about fifteen minutes and the wallpaper should just peel right off. I wish I could come and help you. It was such a lonely job. The H never seemed to be around when that was on the to do list.

I was putting the office back together today and wondering if it would become a nursery... I figured I would set it up nicely anyhow knowing that I wouldn't even dream of setting up a nursery for at least another 25 weeks. Trying to maintain some sense of positive outlook... thinking I might hit the accupuncturist this week too just to cover all my bases!

Where are the others?? Bellini??

Hello Ladies

Just counting down the minutes until I can blow this joint. Work is not pleasing me at the moment...

Jenn sorry to hear you have been feeling off, the heat adding to the misery. Well it seems from your ticker that you have passed the magical 12 week mark. Well done!! Hopefully you should start to feel a bit better soon. I agree that Monkey needs a name..I will put some thought into it. Will you be finding out the sex???

Poor Robbo, sounds like you had the holiday from hell. Sorry to hear about FIL and then having to take care of the arrangements. All in all a big downer for you guys. Thanks for your advice re the C-section. That helps a lot. I was mulling over it on the weekend and came to the conclusin that at least C-sections don't seem to impact on the baby, so that's a positive...I guess I'll have to accept that I can't control everything about this process...Yay on not having to have endo surgery, sounds like things are looking positive for next summer. It will be hard for us to wait but we will be patient!

Amy! Fantastic numbers you got quite the little crop there! Sounds frantic at your place, camping in the yard one day, ER the next. Nice work. As far as the office/ nursery goes, I don't blame you for not wanting to get ahead of yourself. Noggin will be going in our office but to date have done nothing about it. Poor Nogs, but I just dont' want to plan anything for fear of problems happening. Why have I become so damned superstitious??? Good luck with ET, have we remembered our blue sparkly golden rule???

Angie I don't envy you with all that DIY, I'm a big one for starting jobs and not finishing them. I started paint the inside of our house a year and a half ago. Now can't finish it in the forseeable future because of the fumes. It looks really sh1tty.

Well looks like it is time to go home WOOOO HOOOO

See Ya!

Amy- Hoping transfer goes well. Please keep us posted.

Jenn- I have already started working in my classroom. I still have about 3 weeks until we have to go back to work, but I am so anal about getting things done before everyone else comes back. Plus, I am changing classes this year so I have to move my stuff out of one room, and the stuff in that room needs to be moved into another room. Quite a mess when you have a 2 year old tagging along.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought you were going to be teaching this year. Did you decide not to with the pregnancy and all?

Hey Robbo- yep, I had a job teaching third grade and then I found out I was pg. We had already decided I wouldn't work for the first year at least after we had a baby. That put me leaving at Christmas and I just didn't want to start a new year at a new disrtict and learn everything and be stressed out only to leave in three months. Plus I think it's better to let the kids have the same teacher all year if possible, and I was going into it knowing I wouldn't be there after Dec. The principal was really good about it when I told her. Are you switching grades this year?? Or just rooms?
Jenn

Good Morning Girls!

Jenn & Heather - I hadn't caught that you were both teachers. I do sometimes miss the classroom also. When you have to be there it is one thing, but when I start seeing all those back to school sale ads I do get a bit jealous that I don't get to send sweet postcards to my students or buy them pencil boxes... instead now I try to track down my little felons and see if they are on or off house arrest and where they are living for the next month. Such different times... Not sure I could go back to the classroom after all of this freedom though. If you girls move to California you let me know and I will hook you up with my gig. Oh and Jenn congrats on moving into the second trimester! It is the best!

Angie - Any luck on the home projects?? I am frantically finishing some up before my transfer time. Have to have some order before I can commit to the bedrest for a few days.

Fee - When is your due date?? I was trying to figure it out, but was wondering what they were telling you. Do we have a theme yet for the Office/baby room? That right there could be your theme.... post it notes and The Office bobble heads like Dwight P Shrute and such. It would be unique. Have you seen that show??

Sass - Are you shooting up yet? What is happening???

As for me, just got the call from the embryologist and I need your help. They are recommending a day 5 transfer with blasts. Today is day three and I have (2) 10 cells, (8) 8 cells, (4) 7 cells and (2) 6 cells and them some "special" 2-5 cellers that might just be like me and a bit slow to make there move. They want to do 2 blast transfers on Thursday as they say that helps them "weed" out the "bad" ones and then the strong stick out.... I am not sure what to do! Help me sisters... what would you girls do??

Wow ladies... it is like 'ol home week on the Sisterhood thread! Nice to have Amy and Robbo back online!

Mego: hope you enjoyed some lazy days by the lake. btw... I decided to do some "virtual baby gift shopping" for you. Basically this entailed surfing the net and picking what I would get you if I had all the money in the world (and assuming you liked it). Ummm. I hope you don't mind. I know women around here are real superstitious. So if you don't want to read on, I will understand. Here goes...

I thought this set would be darling for Sweet Pea http://www.peapodcreations.com/nurserycribbedding.html. and then, since I am not actually footing the bill... why not add on this cashmere blanket (because really... doesn't every baby need one of these????) http://www.peapodcreations.com/Cashmere ... nkets.html I'm thinking the pink one for sure. There. I hope you enjoy your virtual presents!

Fee: Oh, I don't know... I'm thinkin' Noggin will work just fine as a temporary name for a day or two after he is born. it will look great on his chart

Jenn: Sounds like a horrid AC story!!! Last summer, one of our ACs went out--- the one for the kitchen and family room. It was 110-115' that week and it took them TEN days to fix... long story and not a pretty one (actually a long, sweaty gross one... but don't worry... I made them PAY! ). Hitting Cali in a few weeks, huh? Tell MIL not to worry. Since Vegas is the modern Sodom and Gomorrah... we are sure to be hit next (do you think she will buy it???? )

Robbo: Welcome back! Sorry to hear of FILs passing. Glad to hear you don't have to have endo surgery. What a relief for you!

Angie: Miss Do-It-Yourself-Home-Improvement Lady! I am very impresssed. But I am hoping you get a real weekend this week!

Amy: Do tell. It is Tuesday. I will be checking the computer all day. I am waiting........

So as for me... ummmm. Not much going on. Working full-time these two weeks reminds me why I am glad I don't work full-time every week! But at least it has helped the last 10 days to fly by... and now I start stims a week from tomorrow. I think Amy asked me about Lupron. Since I do a microdose lupron flare protocol, I don't use Lupron to down reg... I just go on bcp. So my last bcp is this weekend, then I will start shooting up gonal-f, menopur and lupron next wed. Woohoo. Actually thinking of starting another ticker  . something I thought I would never do again!

Still being healthy and all... not that I don't eat a little junk now and then. But mostly lots of fruits and veggies. Thanks for the reminder, Meg-- the goal is to be healthy. So I am just going to keep doing what I am doing... whether or not I lose any weight at all. I have to remind myself not to eat how I used to (it is just habit), but since I treat myself periodically, I don't feel like I am missing anything. I am even surprised myself that I have kept to it for weeks now... and I don't mind it at all. Maybe it is a sign (ah hell, don't listen to me... I have been seeing "signs" that I will be getting preg everywhere! ).

BIL has clearly fallen off the wagon (so hard and with such a big thud you Aussies might have felt the reverberations down under  ). He is on the lam again. MIL is sleeping at our house since FIL is out of town and it wouldn't be real safe for her to be there by herself at night until they pick up BIL. I love my MIL. BUT holy cow... that woman can talk. For hours at a time. I am OVERSTIMULATED. I have to find excuses to leave the room (it is kind of like feeding dh to the wolves--- but it is HIS mother!) b/c it is the same things she vents on and on about for years now. This woman desperately needs a counselor... or a few good girlfriends... or an internet forum  But never fear... I have yoga classes the next 3 evenings!!!!!

Amy: bwah! missed your post while writing my epic novel. Nice looking embryos you got there. I am not going to be much help as my clinic just does blast transfers, so this is never a decision I have had to worry about. What happened with your last fresh cycle? How did those embryos do? Was it a 3 or 5 day transfer you had? How often does your clinic do blast transfers???? (I consider this very important) You have some that are developing very well. So if it was me, I would take my clinic's suggestion and wait for blast. But let me be very clear about my bias... this is coming from someone who is comfortable with the use of blast transfers. There are others who have very strong opinions favoring 3 day. Good luck!
