Hi Shell ...... I'm not able to be much practical help to you but I keep seeing you ask about not feeling pregnant and that your bump isnt very big and the sickness has stopped, etc. I'm only 5 weeks or so but I want to send you a hug and tell you not to worry or compare yourself with anyone else - either over the size of bump or symptoms. I keep reading that every pregnancy is different so please don't worry too much.

I would call your midwife and go through these worries - I'm sure they'll put your mind at ease a bit.

Take a deep breath and think rationally ...... not easy I know!!

Lots of Love - Jo. Hi Shell,

I'm 14 weeks 3d so just a bit more than you - the nausea is pretty much gone now and I have just the slightest bump, although no-one else would know it's there!!

You sound completely normal to me, so try not too worry too much. Jo's right, every pg is different.

Take care, Lizzy xxx
Hiya

I know every pregnancy is different and I need to remember that, I just feel ok now so its a shock to the system when I am not being sick.

I love you all on this site, your such a great help!!

Love
Shell.
xx
Dear Shell,
I'm feeling exactly like you!!! I've been lucky and not had much sickness, but that's gone completely now. My tummy is getting bigger, as are my boobs, but it's hard to know whether everything is progressing well or not isn't it? My next scan is on 3rd Sept - seems like an eternity away - especially since we've seen baby at 6 weeks, 8.5 weeks, 11 weeks and 12.5 weeks (I want to see my baby again now!!).
I think it's normal to worry - but it seems hard to relax.
I guess that we'll start relaxing once we can feel it moving (then we'll we worrying if it hasn't moved for 5 minutes!).
One thing I'm worried about is sleeping on my back. I read somewhere that after around 17 weeks you should only try and sleep on your side (too big to sleep on your tummy and the blood supply to the placenta can get trapped if you sleep on your back). Anyway - how do you stop yourself from rolling over in your sleep? Any ideas welcome - or just tell me not to worry!

Chill out - you're certainly not alone!

Alison x
Hi

Its only natural to worry, lucky me I am having another scan done on Monday because I went to the doctors yesterday because of having some aches in my tummy and a little bit more spotting and they are going to scan me again.

I did suffer quite alot with my sickness and then when it went I didn't feel pregnant.

If I wasn't having that scan on Monday then my next one would be the 4th of September.

You saying that Alison about lying on your back, I heard it stops the oxygen getting to the baby. I wasn't sure from when but when I woke up the other night I was on my back and I got myself in a panic.

Hope all is ok, and I will try and chill and you too.

Love
Shell
13wks6d pg
xx
Hi Alison and Shell.

Re the lying on back, I got paranoid about that too. But I've been advised not to worry too much as apparently you'll feel a bit odd or dizzy yourself if it's a problem.

Apparently if you just raise one side up with a cushion this is enough to prevent there being a problem.

All the best,
Suzanne.x
Alison and Shell

I slept on my back throughout my pregnancy because it was the only way I could ease the heartburn and it caused no ill effects to my babies so try not to worry.

Jules

Thanks for the replies about the sleeping on your back - that's put my mind at rest!

Shell - hope everything goes okay for your next scan on Monday - let us know how you get on,

Alison
Thanks for the replies on sleeping on your back, worry about everything me, and of course I will let you know how it goes on Monday with scan.
Love
Shell
14wks pg
xx
Hi Shell

sound normal to me or is my idea of normal as mad as a badger?
I have never been able to sleep on my back and sleep on it all the time now - don't start off that way but end up there! I have pains around the belly button - all normal I think and once the sickness had gone my breasts weren't in agony either - unless I kept punching them to see if they hurt! All this is normal I think and they still tingle a bit. Then I noticed the nipples hadn't darken and my veins don't show up much but I am olive skin so they wouldn't. I am now worrying about my colitis as I have to go the the toilet (not number ones!) several times a day and lose blood etc so off to see the gastro specialist on Thursday - great and I reckon it will have to be steroids. Been worrying it will all harm baby but some people are sick so I am hoping that baby is all safe in amniotic fluid by now,
Take care
Love
Tracey
xxx
