another question - we do not have male factor, but we retrieved 9 eggs and dr recommended icsi. said better success rates, more control, etc etc. he gave us the option of doing half icsi and half natural fertlization or none too but he recommended icsi. because we had to decide moments before transfer, we went with his suggestion. only 3 of the 9 (actually a 4th fought its way to get fertilized but it was a dud from the getgo) and they said it was because it was very difficult to perform icsi - the egg and the sperm were both very sticky. stuck to the pipette, dish, etc. Doc did give us the option, so I dont blame him but does that seem sketchy - we didn't need the icsi that gave us low fertilization rates to begin with? he does have very high success rates - some of the best in the state though. just wondering what your thoughts are.
My doctor does 90 % ICSI because he said that success rates with icsi are higher. I had 20 eggs, all mature, 19 got fertilized but i didn't get pregnant. I just think that it is a russian rulet. You really never know, may be none of them would fertilized if you did regular ivf because they were so sticky....
