Hi everyone! Haven't been on for a while but have been reading up on you guys.

I had my u/s today too and there's 1 little heart fluttering away. Everybody I know (even my RE) was guessing twins for me because of the no. of embies I had put in (5) but I knew there would only be 1 and I'm very happy about it. Twins would have been awesome too but I'm just so happy and relieved there's 1 healthy beanie in the right place. It was such a great feeling to finally see it and it just makes it all so real. My RE plans for another u/s in 3 weeks and then release me to the OB.

When are you guys released to the OB? I'll be 10 weeks then which seems a little further then don't you think?

One other question for kitty lovers. I have 3 cats and worried about toxoplasmosis. I asked my RE and he says as long as I don't clean the litter box I should be fine. But shouldn't I or the cats be tested for toxoplasmosis. I'll get my cats tested but what about a blood test for me?

BTW, congrats to Sher and Charity for the u/s today!!! Congrats to Laurie too for the twins! I'm sure you'll see those heartbeats next week. This was my 1st u/s at 7w2d.

Hey ladies,,, I just found out i am finally pregnant! :) After 3 years of trying the first ivf worked. My ET was July 12th. They transferred 2 8cell embryos on day 3 and I am due March 31. Last week i had 3 beta tests:

Hcg levels went from 283, 680, 1200. The nurse told me not to come back to the RE until August 9th for the first u/s. I am alittle worried, almost feeling disbelief that i am pregnant and want to go in sooner. I guess i am used to being monitored a few times a week.

I was thinking about sneaking in an appointment with my regular obgyn. Do you think i need to wait until i am officially discharged from the RE? I feel as if im not getting adequate prenatal care, i hardly ever see my RE.

I think i need to see someone next week for peace of mind. What do you ladies think?

Congratulations Neeta and welcome!! I know it's hard to wait for your appointment, but we are all having to learn patience- it's sooo hard! If I had my way, I'd go every other day to have an u/s- HAHA!! Just try to relax and enjoy that BFP!!!

Hello all!

I'm back from vacation, and am very relaxed. I've read all the post over the last week and am trying to process them all. It sounds as though everyone is doing well.

I go in for my 1st ultrasound tomorrow afternoon. I will be 6 wks 6 days. I'm hoping we'll see a heartbeat. As far as symptoms go, still only the sore bbs that I've had since starting the progesterone, nothing else to speak of.

My DH's sister is in visiting from out of town. He told her last night that we were expecting. She was shocked that we were telling people so early and then went on to tell us of a friend that told everyone and later miscarried. All she said was WOW and I hope they stick. Don't you just love family sometimes.

Take care,
Kerri

Hi All,

I just want to congratulate all the ladies who have had their ultrasounds! Mine is today and I am excited but nervous! I have been prayng, praying, praying...that we get excellent news. I'm 6 weeks 3 days to day, and the nurse said we should be able to see a heartbeat. Hoping the time passes quickly until my appointment.....

Good luck to all you girls having your first u/s this week. Such and exciting and reassuring time. I have been so tired, but it could be all the running around we have been doing.

Kerri,
Sorry to hear you received the feedback you got. Why is it that some people can only see the glass half empty? Don't let that discourage you at all. Enjoy your u/s and we look forward to hearing back from you.

Neeta,
Welcome to the board and you are always free to unload here as you await your next appt. It sounds like you are receiving adequate care. They probably scheduled your first u/s when they did so you can see a heartbeat.

Sher8

Cassandra,
Good luck today!

Hi everyone. I have hesitated to post here because I wanted to make sure this was really real. Some of you might remember me from the June/July IVF thread.

Laurie, you really encouraged me to post.

So Thursday we saw and heard not one, not two, but three heartbeats. It was amazing. After our terrible doctor painted a doom and gloom picture for us, we realized he was not a good doc for us and we are seeking more perfesional help we are now full of joy. Reading the books out there about triplets has really helped us understand that it is possible.

Sometimes DH and I just look at each other and giggle, we are going to have three. It is truly the best feeling in the world.

Congratulations to everyone here.

Elvis- WOW!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!! Your dog has no idea what's he's in for- HAHA!! I think you are smart to seek other doctors who specialize in multiples- Get some encouragement from caring professionals - they will be able to assuage your fears and give you some solid information- not scare tactics!! Your doc put three embryos back, right? He had to have know it was possible. He sounds horrible!! I'm glad you're here.
I'm doing well- no spotting since last Wednesday; however, now I feel like all my pregnancy symptoms are gone. Last week I was so tired and had to pee all the time. Both of those seem to have gone away or at least lessened. I still have sore breasts, but that is probably just from the PIO. My next u/s in next Monday- trying to remain calm until then. Hope everyone else is well...

jeneden-You are so right my dog has no idea. He still watches over me like a hawk though since I have become PG.

I have heard symptoms can come and go sometimes. I really don't have many just sore boobs, fatigue, and frequent peeing. The most amazing part is that I have already gone up two cup sizes. Totally can't believe that.

Try to stay positive until you scan. I will be thinking of you. My next scan is this Friday. Sadly with the bad doc. I figured I would keep that scan until I can definitly get into the high-risk doc.

The weird thing about this doc is he actually had wanted to put back 4 embies. Actually only two of my three embies took, but one split. That is what he said anyways.
