Hi ladies....DH on the boards here. Nice to be on this side, but wanted to share our story.

I'm 36 and my wife is 33. We live in Souther California and started trying about 3.5 years ago. It looks like everyone on this board is from the UK (love the UK by the way)
Our infertility center has several locations through out Southern California, and was started over 20 years ago. One of the founding doctors was one of the first pioneers attempting IVF on his wife in the 70's (he did our last FET). When we decided to go there, we read our doctors published books to get familiar with infertility treatments in general. Needless to say after a roller coaster year it worked on our 2nd IVF attempt with 2 of our remaining 5 FE's.
We are currently 8.2 weeks with twins and just came back from our last ultrasound at our Fertility center. From now on we have to go to our regular OB. We were both kind of sad because we have grown to know all the staff there really well. We gone almost weekly and see one of the Doctors each time (this is what we really like about this group).

We are keeping our finders crossed as we understand we are still early....but we also try and remember how we felt before we got a BFP. The question I asked myself this morning sitting in traffic going to the office was this: Would I change the past if I could?
Answer: No...the amount of education and the stronger bond we have is well worth it.

Congratulations on jumping to the other side! We too are expecting twins and hope you'll join us in the Double Trouble thread. It's really helpful and exciting to hear about those still pg and those who have their little ones.

Dh and I feel the same way. We not only LOVED our clinic and RE but we found out through this entire process how strong of a couple we really are. The one thing I hope our children can feel from all of this is just how much we wanted them. Every journey is different but it's been well worth every moment!

Good luck and take care! Congrats again!!!!

hey congrats on your BFP, best of luck and easy pregnancy for your wife!

I just wanted to add that it not only made our family stronger, it made me stronger person as well. I never thought I would go thru what we had to do in order to be on this side of the fence. I guess you start to appreciate what you thought is easily given more and more and dont' take for granted a lot of things in life anymore.

Congratulations! And thanks for saying so well what I have been thinking too. I almost feel sorry those who get pregnant the old-fashioned way. They have no idea how blessed they really are, unlike us who had to struggle. And they don't have the opportunity to learn true teamwork, like my husband and I did!

I know that I'm new here (tested positive yesterday) but the post was so nice that I couldn't resist replying. I agree with ptfmb71 regarding new closeness that I experience also with my DH. In the end, I realized that all this happiness would be worthless if he was not sharing it with me. :D
