Question for twin Mommy's

Post by Fed7281 »

HI,

I am due to have my identical twin boys in October and I am trying to find a bassinet to put them in for the first few months after they are born so that they can sleep in my room. I am unsure if the normal bassinets would hold the two little ones. So I am coming to the experts, what did you use for your twins for the first few months? Thanks in advance for your help! Hope you and your lil ones are doing well.

Thanks!
Erin

My girls started life in the bassinet of a pack and play, worked well for us.

Mine did the same as Denise. The bassinet level of the pack-n-play. They shared that in our room for 6 months before I finally split them up and put them in their own cribs in the nursery. I had a Graco one that seemed larger than most, although I'm not really sure if it really was larger.

Thanks for the responses. I kind of figured that the pack and play was going to be the best option.

I bought a Graco pack N play twin bassinet for our room. That is the only twin one I have found.

I also bought the twin pack-n-play. It is nice to be able to separate them if you need to. My only complaint is that it is not very pretty, a sort of sickly green color.

Just curious as to what you may need to put in the pack n play (sleeping part) other then maybe a light blanket. It has a built in bumper, not sure what else it may need to give the babies a comfortable night sleep. Any suggestions?

Nothing actually. Swaddle your babies/dress them in temp appropriate sleepers. but no blankets or toys, etc. Just a sheet on the bottom, and I put a pad under them too, so if someone threw up, I could just change that in the middle of the night, rather than the whole sheet.

My babies would only fall asleep in their car seats for the first few months. It also helped my son Xavier since he had reflux. The position helped him from spitting up so much. After the car seats they slept in their pack and play. Now each of them sleep in their individual cribs, but that took about 3-4 months.

Well, I guess I'm the odd one here! My two started off right away in their crib. They're still sharing a crib at 3 months, but we have a 2nd one ready when needed...Good luck!
