Reading you two chat is so funny! Mags you are doing such a great job of taking things quiet, pee on everything that may give you an answer thats what I say - I am so excited for you! Excuse my ignorance do they really ring with the result? Cant the HH tell you straight away? How awful.
Have you heard from Mr Lavery VickyP? or have you made an appointment to see him?
Great news Vicki, is it much cheaper to go to Madrid? How does it work in conjunction with the HH?
AGallagher, are you still out there? How are you doing with the jabs?
Still jabbing over here, all ok. Did you guys have a bleed during jabbing? I have, I assume that's ok??
Good luch for Friday Mags, I will be thinking of you.

How much longer injecting for you? You must be getting neat now?
Yes it's true that the hospital ring you - you just go and have blood taken then they call you about two hours later - I actually found that better than being told face to face.
I never heard from Lavery so I've written him a letter now - we'll see what happens - I feel I'm still due at least 10 mins worth of consultation time as my last two lasted about 3 mins each and cost over £300. He has written back to me before so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Anyway as I am desperate to get on with it I have also now spoken to a doctor at the clinic who said that as I didn't have any intervention after my miscarriage I could start after next period. So that's good - I think I may have to wait one more as I might be on holiday at the crucial time - but we'll see. I am also quite tempted to have a go naturally for one month just to see if I could do it again - but I'm worried about having an ectopic and putting things back even longer.
Hi Mags - how are you today - I agree with Bernie on the pee on everything strategy. We are waiting to hear your news (I can't take the waiting anymore - come on Friday that's what I say!).
Right back to work - hope everyone else is doing okay. Vicky

Hi Guys - afraid it's a 'no' again this time. Period came this morning - exactly on time like last time - did blood test and will get the call this afternoon but I know it's a 'no'. I did do another pee test yesterday (nobody has that much self control - least of all me - who was I kidding!!!) so got over it then - a few tears - and I feel back to my old self.
Now I'm looking forward to a holiday in Greece - a few drinks - the gym - and generally having a break from all the wondering...
We'll try again I think. Just spoke to funding manager and she's booking cycles for Jan/Feb at the moment - will have to have a think as to whether to wait that long or try again sooner and pay - not sure.
Will have my follow up with Lavery in a couple of weeks. I'm thinking of e-mailing him my list of questions in advance - there will be plenty of them!
But enough about me - Vicky - hope Lavery replies back soon - personally can't stand not having answers- at those prices for consultations you deserve some feedback! I'd be really tempted to try naturally for the month - if Lavery thinks that's ok.
Bernie - Bleeding around the time you would have your period is as it should be - I was told it meant it was working and you were being suppressed - so it's kinda reassuring. I found the bleeding just slightly heavier than normal - but otherwise fine. Any other side effects? I found drinking alcohol pretty much always gave me a headache - so avoided - but remember to drink loads of water all the way through the cycle - really helps. But above all - take it all as it comes - each day/injection/blood test or whatever is a mini-success story - and one step closer. (Good grief, I sound like a self-help book!)
Lots of love,
Mags xx

Mags - so sorry for your BFN big hugs to you. You go and enjoy Greece and a few drinks you deserve. Let us know how your follow up goes.
Bernie - Hope you OK and your not having too many side effects. My cycle at Madrid about £5000.00 I then have to pay HH seperate for my drugs, monitoring scans and preg blood test, plus there is the cost of flights and hotels, I hoping I only have to travel to Madrid twice.
Vicky p- its so anoying when you spend no time with your consultant but still end up paying a fortune good luck hope you get started soon.
Take care

I'm off to Greece tomorrow - just popped in quickly to wish everyone well as I'll probably not be posting while I'm out there - and for the rather sad task of changing my signature to add another BFN.
Follow up appt with Lavery not till Sep 12th - was initially offered Nov/ Dec by the very depressed/rude sounding girl at the end of the phone. Actually said to her that I just had a -ve preg test and she sounded more depressed than me! What I really meant was "come on love - you're dealing with some very delicate women here - make an effort!'
Vicky P have you tried e-mailing Lavs? I once sent an e-mail via his secretary and he did reply quite quickly - wish I had saved the e-mail address - damn.
Anyhoo. Off to the gym - and to start packing.
Best wishes to all.

How is everyone else?

Mags, you must be on hols, I hope are having a fab time, sun, sand n'all, the break will do you good, big hug and good luck for the 12th Sept.
Had my suppression scan and bloods yesterday, all fine, I am officially "suppressed". Start with Gonal F tomorrow (Thursday) then back for bloods on Monday. Its a funny looking pen, it looked very confusing then the nicest nurse, Jo showed me how to use it and wow, its so easy.
VickyP I saw Lavery and was so tempted to go up to him and say "Why havent you returned VickyP's call?" then I thought opps maybe that wasnt sensible!!
I am finding it quite hard to find time to log on these days, we have friends staying with us after they were flooded, so sorry I am not so quick at the chat. Hopefully (in the nicest possible way) it wont be for much longer..............
Take care

LOL - that would have been SO funny! Thanks for the moral support - he would have been really freaked out!
Good for you for being so darn friendly - friends are great for a time but it can get a bit ggrrrr after a while - especially if you just want to to talk about IVF all the time and can't - which I seem to when I'm doing it. I hope their house is sorted out soon - poor things.

Well Finally got a letter today from Lavery and amazingly enough he said that having looked at my HSG results again the right tube looks clear _ it let dye through and there was 'spill' - which I take to be a good thing. So he said it is worth trying naturally! So that's brilliant news. He did say that sometimes the HSG clears a tube and that it might be temporary or permanent - so who knows how long it will last. Still good to hear.
Hope everyone else is okay. Vicky

VickyP, I was also told that HSG's could clear tubes when I went and had mine done, so that is just great news, I am really pleased for you. I wonder if its worth having another one to see if it helps the other side or widen the now unblocked side more? So pleased Lavery wrote to you, it took long enough though, did he explain why he didnt spot the spill the last time? Keep us posted.
I went and had my bloods checked today, all seems ok, I havent heard anything so was told if I didn't then to continue at the same dose, so I will. Roll on scan on Friday.
Take care

I AM HAVING A BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its very quiet on our thread, are you out there girls, or are you all on hols?
I just thought I would update you on how my scan went on Friday. They found about 12 follies or so - more on one side than the other, and they ranged in size from 11 - 14 which I hope is ok (?). I am back on Monday morning for another scan, and fingers crossed I will have the late night jab in the evening and collection on Wednesday.
Any advise on when I should tell work I will be off? Will I feel ok on Tuesday after the late night jab Monday or shall I book Tuesday onwards off? Also, if the embies are put back in on Friday, should I book the next week off also? I am finding it hard to know how much chill time I will want and how I will feel afterwards. On some of these threads I read people take 2 weeks off (presumably the week of EC etc and 1 week after). What do you think?
Mags you must be back from hols soon, I hope you had a lovely time, and are raring to go on the 12th Sept with Lavers? Its been such a miserable summer here I am very jeolous.
VickyP are you logging in? Vicki are u ok?
Take care

I AM HAVING A BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Back from my hols - nice to be back actually (we stayed with a friend - I agree that scenario can be tricky!).
Vicky - great news about the tube - that's fantastic - best get trying
Bernie - glad to hear things are going well. 12 follies is a good number. How did today's scan go?
When to take time off is tricky to work out - especially when it's all new. I found I was so tired from drugs just before EC that I wanted time off then and to concentrate my energies on growing follicles - day after trigger injection was fine for me - relief to have a day of no injections in fact. Obviously the day of EC and ET have to be taken off but as you don't know for certain when EC will be until 48 hours before it's probably best to warn your boss (unless you're off already out of tiredness like I was). After EC was when I felt most delicate - bit sore really. After ET you feel completely fine - just sore boobs and still bloated. So in conclusion if you're not too knackered, I'd take day of EC off - and day after - and ET - and perhaps a couple of days after that to relax if you feel like it (although there's no medical evidence that makes a difference).
My personal feeling is to be good to yourself and take as much time off as your boss/work situation will allow - to recover from the physical AND emotional stuff - but to a certain extent you have to play it by ear - see how you feel.
As for me, I've got funding through for another cycle at Hammersmith for Dec/Jan - and we've decided to go with that. Just booked my coordination appt. for Nov - and been told that I'm going to be on Antagonist protocol. Don't know too much about it other than it's new, shorter (yay!) and better for older/poor responders. Bit miffed to be TOLD that - surely the decision is a joint one between us and Lavery! Still I will discuss at our de-brief in September.
Best,
Mags xxx
