Can anyone help us please?

Post by Amanda A »

Dear All,
Some of you may remember me, I had a failed ICSI cycle at the ARGC in Feb and during that time was a regular on this site.

This June I cycled again and we had a positive result but at the first scan they couldn't see anything and a repeat scan on Thurs confirmed that the pregnancy "was not viable" and I had a D&C later that day.

Obviousley DH & I are still reeling from all of this & feeling quite desperate. I could really do with hearing from anyone who has gone on to be successful after losing a baby in this way. We have no idea if we should continue or just give up after all this.

Can anyone give us any advice?

Many Thanks
Rach X

Kirsty,
Thanks for posting again, I don't know what happened for all the messages to be wiped off but I did log on at the weekend so at least I have been able to read them all.

I called the ARGC yesterday and we have an appointment for September. In the meantime, they are testing (this sounds horrible I know!)tissue from the D&C so they can try to work out exactly why things went wrong. From what I can gather they may be able to figure out if it was a chromosome problem, which is quite common and would hopefully not happen again or if it is something to do with implantation and the way my body reacts in early pregnancy.

I take some comfort from the fact that they are trying to get to the bottom of it all. I have a lot of faith in Mr Taranissi, which is one blessing.

Thanks for the email address, I will be in touch. Hope things are going well for you and that you are feeling well. It seems incredible that you are so far through your pregnancy, what a lot has happened to both of us since Feb!

Take Care, Love RachX
