Thanks Malinka...Easier said than done, I think...The RE seemed sort of negative, so I think that's the reason why I'm so worried...Probably just me, but didn't feel as hopeful as I would have liked him to have been. I sure hope you're right, and thanks for getting back to me so soon...Every time I hear of others measuring behind, but having no worries, I feel tons better...Thank you!! Thank you for the congratulations, too...It is awesome, but so very scary...

Charity- My twins measured behind for the first several weeks but then caught up. Do you know if they are identical or fraternal twins? I know it's hard not to worry but it is normal for twins to be a bit smaller.

A miracle has taken place at my house!!!! The boys slept thru the nite! I fed them at 8:00pm last night. Nicholas fell asleep at 8:30pm and didn't wake up until 7:00am! Jeremy cried for a long time last night and didn't fall asleep until 9:45pm but then slept until 7:30am. I can't tell you how wonderful it was to get so much sleep.

They have been much more fussy during the day lately. They cry almost constantly if they aren't being held. Since I can only hold one at a time, someone is always crying. But I don't mind so much because they are sleeping at night!!!

Congratulations with the boys sleeping through the night, Laura!! That's fantastic!! They are fraternal...Thank you for sharing your story...I am finding that I'm not that much alone...I felt so horrible after the u/s this morning, but after reading more and more on twins measuring behind, the better I'm feeling. I'm by no means out of the woods, but at least can stop crying and being a total basket case. We'll see what happens in next week's u/s, and time will tell. Thanks for all your support, and congrats again on a full night's sleep! I hope it the first of many to come... :D

Charity stay positive! It is very hard not to worry especially for the first month or so. I guess it is just us IVF/IUI girls that worry about everything

Laura congrats on a full night sleep. It is awesome!

Never thought a good nights sleep would mean so much to a bunch of gals!!!! Congrats on the sleeping! You sound absolutley delighted! Rightfully so as well!!!!

Charity~ I too had little ones that measured behind. It took one quite a few weeks to finally be on schedule. We will never know what it's like to not worry now that we are all going to be parents or already are. How bitter sweet! Wouldn't trade it for all the carefree moments in the world!
Glad you are feeling better about it.

We missed our vacation due to some work complications but what can you do? Was pretty bummed about it yesterday but have since decided to just try and enjoy my weekend around town.

hope everyone is well and happy!
Take care~

Kimberly...Thank you for sharing your story, too...I am feeling so much more optimistic today. I'm sorry to hear about your vacation. Lord knows you could use an out right now. Before long, you will be so busy with your babes that a vacation will be a distant thought.

Can't wait to get out of this chair...Only day two of bed rest, and I'm going nuts. There's so much to get done around the house, but I'm not supposed to be doing a whole lot...Oh well...Life will go on...And my babes are much more important work right now.

Thanks again, Kimberly, and everyone else. You're lifesavers...Or at least sanity savers...

They slept through the night again! I fed them at 8:00pm, put them to sleep at 9:00pm and they didn't wake up until 8:00am! I cannot tell you how happy I am. I thought this day would never come.

DH fed Jeremy this morning and forgot to burp him, so he spit up 5oz of formula all over the couch. Does anyone know what to use to get stains off furniture?

I finally took some new pictures. You won't believe how big they've gotten. Nicholas is in white and Jeremy is in red. Nicholas is gaining weight and catching up to Jeremy, so it's getting hard to tell them apart.

Oh my goodness Laura~
They are beautiful!!! Look how big they both are!!!! Can you believe how fast they change? Hearing that the boys are already sleeping though the night gives everyone here so much hope! I bet you are just bright eyed and energetic now that you actually get some real sleep!
As far as they sofa stain, formula is brutal! With most stains I always start with Dawn dish soap and warm water and it almost always works. I buy this stuff called Solumel from a friend that sells Melaluca and it gets everything out! It even got an entire glass of red wine out of brand new WHITE linen capris last year. It is amazing but hard to find. My last resort is plain old 409. Hope one of those works for you!

Have a great weekend!

Twins after IVF

Post by karno1 »

SOunds like there are alot of twins out there coming to the world soon! We are expecting twins and due end of January, after IVF cycle. We already have a 2 y/o adopted daughter so we are anxious to have one of our own!

We have had a scary adventure to this point (i am 14 weeks). I had terrible bleeding and diagnosed with a SCH (sub chorionic bleed). Freaky and its still there-so I am on modified bed rest. Kinda hard when you have a 2 y/o wanting mommy! I am just praying daily that I get to see heartbeats and healthy babies each U/S. Luckily, I get one every 2 weeks now so I don't have to wait too long.

Best of luck to everyone on your twin adventure! I am cautiously excitied, since we have had a few losses over the yrs.

Laura,

They are so handsome!!! I can not believe how big they are now. That is also very wonderful that they have slept through the night for the past two days. You and DH must be so happy. JUst wanted to pop in and say how cute they are. Enjoy the sleep!

Laura---YEAH YEAH YEAH for you!!!!!!! Oh, you deserve some rest. You also give me hope, as DH and I are still getting up at least 2 times a night. I just put our babes to bed around 9:15, and I expect to get up around 12:30 or 1:00.....sometimes they go 4 hours, other times they go 5 or 6. I keep praying for 6! :-) I've been trying to read BABYWISE, which a lot of moms have recommended to me. It stresses to have a flexible schedule (which I think you and I have had...). That book says most full term babies should be able to sleep through the night around 9 weeks. Of course, you and I had preterm babies, so we have to add a few weeks on! My babies will be 8 weeks on Thursday, so I'm hoping it'll happen in the next month or so! :)

Congrats to all you new girls! I honestly can't remember much about my pregnancy these days....sleep deprivation tends to do that. However, I do know that PMA plays such an important role. Good luck to you! And, take it easy!

Kimberly, sorry to hear about the vacay. That's a bummer.

As for us, we just got back in to town. My dad convinced me to take the twins up to lake Erie to visit family with him. While it was a PAIN IN THE YOU KNOW WHAT to pack everything, it was nice to have so much family around to help with the babies. I even got to skip some overnight feedings since all the aunts wanted to chip in! We were all staying at the summer cottage, so we had a very full house of helpers! However, now that we're back home, Ellie and Braeden think they can demand to be held all the time, and well....I can't do it. so, today I had to deal with two screaming babies. I'm hoping tomorrow is a better day.

Wish me luck!

Kim- I think I will be having the same problem soon. My mother and I are taking the boys to Iowa for a family wedding. We will be there for two weeks and I imagine the boys will be so spoiled when I get back. It is a 12 hour car ride, so wish me luck!

I probably won't be able to use a computer while I'm gone, so I may not be back here until 8/23.

Laura--good luck with the trip! Be sure to find good places along the way to feed the boys. By the way, are they still sleeping through the night?

Yes they are still sleeping thru the night! They have been sleeping for 10-11 hrs for over a week now. I haven't slept this well since I was 5 months pregnant. No hourly trips to the bathroom, no crying babies!

It just suddenly happened when they were about 11 weeks old. I am praying your babies will do the same! How is the bottle feeding going?
