Thanks Mia...I've been watching your blog, and waiting to see some pics of those precious little boys of yours...I actually did an IUI, so no big IVF cycle for me...Thank god! I was scheduled to do one in January, when we found out after all the scripts were filled that my coverage had reached it's cap. We couldn't pay for the procedure out of pocket, since we had already paid quite a bit on the copays from our first cycle, so were going to transfer to dh's insurance in 2008...In the meantime, I couldn't stop medaling with my fertility, and decided to do an IUI, as they found out DH's sperm weren't as bad as the regular ob/gyn had indicated after our first IUI (which is why we went to IVF straightaway to begin with)...Anyway, to make a long story short, dh performed like a trooper, and everything fell into place, and here we are! I am waiting for my fourth and final beta numbers right now, and then sounds like our first u/s on Thursday of next week...I'll be 6wpiui (5w6dpo)...Once we can find out all is well (and how many), I think I'll breathe a sigh of relief. Not that it's any guarantee, but at least we'll be one step closer to our goal...

How are you holding up with the twins? How's your cervical integrity/thickness? Have they talked about bed rest or taking them early, yet? I sure hope this is a breeze for you, Sweetie...Boys though?!? I can't have a name-sake, now... :o( Kidding!! :o) Saw the video with your puppy and it's training shoes on UTube...That's hilarious...Such a little sport for putting up with those... Well, just wanted to wish you well, and to say THANKS, once again!! Wish us luck and say a little prayer all goes well...I've got one in with the big guy for you, dh and the boys, Hon...Take care...

Just wanted to touch base with everyone. Had my first ultrasound Friday and saw the heartbeat, but haven't gotten a rate yet...It was fluttering away, though. They're not sure if there's a second one there or not. Said it might have implanted, but not developing, or just isn't able to be seen well in the current position. RE said we'll have to wait for next week, but one for sure is doing great...Am so relieved...We told the in-laws at dinner that same evening. They thought they were only going to have their one grandson by dh's sister, so they were as excited as we are. My mom is on cloud 9, too. This will be her seventeeth grandchild, as well as the 9.5 great grandchildren, but you'd think this was her first...Have a great weekend all...

One more update. Made a similar post on other board, but would like to have this here for posterity.

Had our second scan and surprise of all surprises, there are actually TWO!! They are both measuring behind, but the doctor is optimistic that they'll catch up since they both are measuring the same, even though both behind, and had detectable heartbeats. Still wasn't able to get a heartrate recorded, though. I'm almost wondering if their ultrasound machine is behind the times..? I'm so worried now! I also started spotting after the vaginal ultrasound and had been having brown spotting post-coital for a couple of weeks, but this spotting was bright red and was enough to drop on a panty liner. Sorry if TMI...Doctor sent me home from work to be on bed rest over the weekend, but the spotting has already stopped. So, I'm very hopeful it's just cervical irritation from the Crinone and foreign items being introduced vaginally. Is anyone else heard of twins starting out a bit behind in development, but catching up? I'm so worried now. Any supportive words could really help me right now...

Thanks ladies. You're my life-line to sanity. And I mean that...Really!!

Charity! Oh my goodness....

Look for posts by LauraLou (I think) she went thru a roller coster at the beginning of her pregnancy... ended up with identical healthy boys...

I could be that you have identical twins and the one egg splitting would make it behind. Even if it is ferternal twins they could have emplanted late....

Take care and rest!!!

You will be in my thoughts and prayers...

Jeck...Thanks for the advice, Sweetie...I did find LauraLou on the double trouble board and she did let me know that hers measured behind in the beginning, too. Hers are identical, whereas mine are fraternal, but others were kind enough to post their initial set-backs with fraternals too, so am feeling a bit better. Besides, there's not much I can do about it. What will be, will be. Doesn't mean I have to like it, or am going to be sane & upbeat while it's happening, but know ultimately I'm doing what I can, and it's out of my hands at this stage. Can only play the waiting game. Kind of depressing, but unfortunately, true. Thanks again, Jessica...When do you get your boy home?! I just realized how much he looks like my great nephew. You should see his pics on myspace. I posted some recent ones, and they could easily be brothers. Seriously though, any news on timelines?

Shantala...Of course I remember you. I've been watching you on the other board. Don't worry about the scan numbers, Hon. I know I was so concerned, but we both have seen so many people defeat all the statistics and numbers. Also, we have seen others who have gotten tons of eggs, and only needed one. We had 16 eggs, but only 5 mature in our first round and no fertilization, so I do know what you've been experiencing. But! Look at me now! Have they discussed a different suppression protocol with you at all? I know you were using the nasal spray, but have they ever talked about not suppressing you? That was what we were going to do on our second cycle if we had made it there. My doctor suspected my pituitary gland did not bounce back well from the Lupron suppression, so not as many eggs matured as what could have. Not sure if that's ever been discussed? Just a thought...

Oh...And your question on the other board about how big can follies be before they're too big...During my IUI cycle, my follicles last measured 22mm, 20mm and 20mm at the time of trigger, so were probably about 22 & 24mm at time of ovulation, so they can get pretty big and still be viable. Come to find out later in my u/s, there was at least one other that ovulated, too, but not sure what it measured or which ones were the viable ones. I did find out that my right tube looks like a road map all twisted and contorted, but can pass an egg through it just fine. I was worried (only had one egg on tghe left, and with the twins, the right had to have worked). That's a bit off the subject, but just occurred to me. Anyway, thank you Sweetie, and I wish you the best of luck with your cycle, and know that your time is here. Just a few more days, and you'll be worrying every waking minute about something new, like me! Lucky duck!

Thank you both for your help...It means the world to me...Hang in there, the both of you, and can't wait to hear both of your great news!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for all your prayers and great vibes, but found out in our ultrasound today, that our babies have not made it. Naturally, we're very sad and are still absorbing the news, but take it as a sign that it is possible. These angels have given us hope that it can happen for us, but unfortunately it just wasn't our time. Thank you all again, take care, and the best of luck with your cycles. You're all so deserving...
