Jen isn't that just the greatest thing to get to see them move for the first time. My little guy does it all the time now. We actually play together I will tap my belly and he will kick right where I tap. I get so tickled sometimes I know I am shaking him like crazy, from laughing.

About the neg comments, there are alot of people who take being a mother for granted, but dont be fooled into thinking that it is not going to be trying at times. No matter how much you want this. I have been waiting for 14 yrs to get this baby, and I know that there are gonna be times that I will probably be on the phone begging someone "to come get this kid".LOL. That os just normal parenting. If you have support from your family and friends you should be just fine. I also think that people just don't know what to say.

Just an example: My bestfriend just had a little boy in April. She and her DH had been trying for about 2 yrs, she has a 12 yr old daughter. Anyway, she called me the other day kinda crying, kinda laughing, I asked what was wrong. She told me that Garrett had kept her up all and night and that he just would not stop crying all day. She said that she finally just laid him in his cradle so that she could go make bottles for him for the day and while doing so she just broke down in tears. She said she did not know what she was going to do with him she had tried everything she could think of.... When she went back to get him out of the cradle she just asked him "what exactly did he want her to do? That he was gonna turn mommy into a crazy lady if he didn't stop crying!!!" She said he immediately stopped crying and gave her the biggest smile and laughed for the first time. She said everything she had been through all night and all day just vanished right there with that little laugh.

So moral to the story is not one mother ever is a supermom, we will all have our times where it will cross our mind" What was I thinking?!?" But then that sweet little miracle will smile or laugh or in some way show you exactly what you where thinking!!!

Have a great day ladies. I have an appt on Tues the 31 so I will post more then.
Til then heres to all our kicks and punches!!! :D :D

Hi there!

Post by D »

I have been feeling the kicks too, can see my stomach moving from them. It is very cool! I just went for my glucose test waiting on the results. My next OB appt is Aug 2. I am not sure why I go every 2 weeks, this appt was at 3 weeks.

I have a question for you guys. Do you plan on b'feeding? My concern is unfortunately I cant do it for long I need to get my body back to normal so we can TTC#2. I was thinking for about 2mths then changing strictly to formula. My time is running out! So what I wanted to do was mix b'feeding with formula not at the same time but to have the baby used to formula in a bottle also. I've been told some babies won't take a bottle after b'feeding etc, so I don't want to do it too late but also I believe you have to get your milk supply in first or you can run into problems there too. Also, your supply will decrease if you are giving the baby feedings from another source. Do any of you have any advice on this? I am not really sure when is the safest time to introduce the formula/bottle.

Thanks!

Well, my plan is to breast feed. I also will do formula when I can't feed or pump. I am planning on doing both, so when I go back to work I will not have to worry so much. I guess I will see when the time comes. Some people like breastfeeding some don't. I guess time will tell. I hope that things will go good though.

I have a question for you all: Are there days when the baby doesn't seem too active? I get worried because I was weeding my flower garden sat. And I get scared I did to much, I am not in pain, but the baby didn't move as much yesterday. I am going to see how today goes, otherwise I might call the dr. I just worry, because I read that you should keep track of this. Just wanted to see what everyone's thoughts are.

Jen,

The baby not being active is totally normal. The baby is just sleeping. If you want to feel some movement you can try drinking orange juice, or a soda that's what I have been told. But it's totally normal for not to feel movement at times. I don't for very long stretches and then just a bit. Since you don't have any cramping or bleeding I think you are fine! I have heard a lot of women ask the same thing on another board I lurk on and everyone says it's normal.

FYI, I haven't been told to keep track of any movement at this point.

Let us know how you are doing.

Take care,

Donna

thanks,

I seen the dr. and he said the same thing. I don't think they really worry about you monitoring your movements. I just figure if I feel it once and a while I am fine.

Anyways, I have my glucose test in 2 weeks, yuck. I hope it isn't bad.

Other than that. I cannot believe only about 13 weeks left. I really think it will be sooner than that. I am starting to get very nervous & scared. But cannot wait.

I am starting to get uncomfortable, especially when I stand. And now I am on a low sodium diet, which stinks, and taste really bad. I have alot of swelling and gained alot of wait, which is mostly water, so I have to start watching what I eat he said.

Well have to run. hope everyone is doing good.

That's great to hear what your doc said.

I just had the glucose test and passed. You are supposed to have under 135 and I had 124. One word of advice I wasnt told not to eat before taking the test, but I was told by different people to make sure you do that, because it can affect the results. I got up first thing and drank the drink and went in for the test to get it over with since I wasnt going to eat. Honestly, it really was nothing. I heard so many bad things about the drink etc and I had nothing from it drank it down like orange pop. I took 10mins to drink it, then they did b/w 1hr later. I had to get to the lab 45mins after the drink.

I know time does fly doesnt it! I have been having sore feet too when I stand too long, along with middle back pain which kills, and I seem to get out of breath quickly. I can imagine what it's like in later weeks! lol

So sorry to hear about you and DH. That must be awful being pregnant and going through that. Do you think its the pressure of the baby coming, and you can work through it? I hope everything works out for you.

Take care,

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been around much but we've been travelling around visiting family and friends this summer whilst I can still fly and have just got home!

How time flies - it's been good to catch up reading this thread and to find out how everyone's getting on. Mominwaiting, so sorry to hear you are going through a separation, will be thinking of you... hope all works out as well as it can for you under the circumstances.

So ladies, not so long now! Found myself nodding and sympathising with so many of your posts. I've been very emotional recently, which I don't remember so much from Will's pregnancy but maybe I've got a bad memory (no surprise there!). We flew back from the UK to Singapore on Thursday, which was emotional enough as it is, leaving family. Just found out my Dad needs a quadruple bypass, but won't potentially be able to see him again for a year - finding that quite tough. We landed on Will's 1st birthday and he actually lost about 7 hours of it due to the time difference alone. Just had time to give him his tea and open a couple of presents before his bed time... his grandma and popsy (my inlaws) had a cake for him just before we left for the airport but DH and I were too upset about leaving to really enjoy it! Got home and not too many people had remembered Will's birthday, including my mum and sister and one of DH's sister's. Am completely gutted about that because we are always very keen to ensure all our family get something from us when it's their birthdays, and this was the first birthday of a child that we'd been hoping for for 5 years. Don't suppose the pregnancy hormones are helping my mood, cos I'm really upset. Have been vomiting today - tired from staying up with (jet-lagged) Will last night and probably caught something on the plane.

Sorry, sorry for that mega grumble... it's not much in the greater scheme of things. Happy days ahead.

Gotta laugh

Hi ladies just poppin in for a min.
Carbev glad to see you back, so sorry that you have been having so many issues. Maybe now that you are home it will settle down some.
I am still not with DH, I tried to come back but found out that he lied to me about something very serious. So as of now I am in complete limbo but it will all work out in the end. I just know it.
I will talk to all later
Good Luck and God Bless!!!

Wow, it's quiet - everyone must be very busy!!
Mominwaiting, how are things going for you? - been thinking about you a lot and hoping that all is as well as can be, under the circumstances.

Been to my docs twice since my last post. The first time he told me off for putting on 1KG too much, the second he said I hadn't put on enough weight!! Can't win can you!

Anyhow, the baby is fine, head down and an average weight (unlike Will who was always on the large side and still is!) so it looks like I might be able to try a VBAC... need to read up on that now as time's-a-flying!

What's new with everyone else?

I swear this baby hasn't stopped moving ALL day... it's doing kick boxing in there. Been getting even more Braxton Hicks too - at what point should you stop thinking 'oh there's another Braxton Hick' and instead wonder if preterm labour may have started?

How are you guys doing?

carbev- I know what you mean. When do you worry if it is preterm labor. I have already been in once for the cramping, they told me to come it to be monitored. I figured I am not going to worry. I guess if they come more frequently, get more intense, or have more that like 4 in a hour I am to call or go in. But there are times I get more that 4 an hour. But they don't get more intense.

mominwaiting- sorry to hear about your news, but I guess it is better than after you have the baby. Have you come up with a name yet?

Any one else starting to feel anxious and scared. I have waited along time for this, and it is like 9 weeks away. I am starting to get scared, and feel like I will have no clue what to do when she is here.

Our baby shower is this weekend, time is flying by so fast I cannot believe it.

As for that, nothing new, How is everyone feeling. Some days I am so ready to be done, I am getting very uncomfortable.

Well have to run. Take care. Best of luck. We are almost there, we will be holding our miracles soon.

Hi ladies, just thought I would pop in why I had the chance to. I am doing ok I have finally gotten moved into my place and have gotten everything ready for the baby. DH and I are talking and he is helping me pay for bills and such which is great, I wish we were still together though. Some things just don't fix easily. I am scared of doing this all alone, I know that I can, just scared to.
Well the Dr is going to induce me at 38 weeks, which is only 2 1/2 weeks away, he says that the baby is big, and he is afraid if I wait til 40 I won't be able to deliver. So good news and very scary news!!! I am ready for him to get here, I just want him to be healthy. He seems to be between his butt being in my left ribs and knees in the right, I know he is healthy every time he decides to stretch. LOL. I will try to let you all know when the big day gets here. If I can get access to a computer.
I know we are all anxious, and excited but not too much longer!!
Love and miss you guys GOOD LUCK!!!!

Oh yeah I have decided to name him JUSTUS HAGEN KING!!!
