hiya tix, i'm carrying twins as well and i felt like after all i had been thru i was gonna scream it to the world LOL! and of course i let them all know that it was definitely early ..to keep us in their thoughts and prayers. that way i let them know that things could happen but they could also share in my joy. I'm a little nervous about the vanishing twins syndrome as well but i think as far along as we are the risks are getting smaller. I did read somewhere that if you carry them to week twleve the risks are down to nil. Hang in there and realize we have already beaten the odds once .
i've been nauseated all day as well . i have thrown up some evenings but not to terribly often. it looks like i'be gained weight already but i havent so i keep waiting for those numbers to go up LOL!
hope everyone else is having a great day!

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the warm welcome to the website. I had my u/s today and I am having twins! I am feeling scared and excited. There will be a lot of praying for a "normal" pregancy and two healthy babies. So far I am feeling great. I have been given strick instructions to take it easy. I have another u/s next week (I'll be 6 weeks). Hopefully we will hear the hearts beating. I am definately feeling huge already. I've heard you show quickly with your second pregnancy. Anyone else notice this?

TWO SACS!

Post by NEETA »

Hi ladies,,, I had my first u/s yesterday and there was 2 sacs! :D I am so excited and feel so blessed to be pregnant with twins, but now even more worried. I just read all the new posts and we have such similar emotions being through so much, but i think we should all get together and enjoy this!!

I also told family, however mentioned to them that it is still early and told them what the doctor said "is too early to tell if both of them will progress" I will feel sooo much better when i hear the heartbeats, I also have another scan next week. I am just hoping and praying that i can hold both of them in my arms because i love them already!!

There are a lot of twins on this board,, wishing everyone the best of luck!Happy and Healthy 9 months!

PS thanks for helping me w/ lily pie

Well...Had our second scan and surprise of all surprises, there are TWO!! They are both measuring behind, but the doctor is optimistic that they'll catch up since they both are measuring the same, even though both behind, and had detectable heartbeats. Still wasn't able to get a heartrate recorded, though. I'm almost wondering if their ultrasound machine is behind the times..? I'm so worried now! I also started spotting after the vaginal ultrasound and had been having brown spotting post-coital for a couple of weeks, but this spotting was bright red and was enough to drop on a panty liner. Sorry if TMI...Doctor sent me home from work to be on bed rest over the weekend, but the spotting has already stopped. So, I'm very hopeful it's just cervical irritation from the Crinone and foreign items being introduced vaginally. Is anyone else heard of twins starting out a bit behind in development, but catching up? I'm so worried now. Any supportive words could really help me right now...Thanks ladies. You're my life-line to sanity. Sorry all about me, but so darned worried, I can't even think straight. Thanks for understanding. Take care all and any support would be so welcome...

Charity- Congrats on hearing your babies heartbeats!! About your concern, i dont know about long term, but my DR told me the 2 sacs were measuring 4 wks, so they are about 1 week behind. i am going for another u/s thrusday, i will be 6 wks then, but i am expecting/hoping i will hear something at 7 wks, like you, because they are behind. My DR said one was larger than the other.
My next u/s will be done by my RE, so i am waiting to hear what he has to say,,,

When i finally go to my RE it will be 2 weeks since i have been there and had blood taken, i hope they tell me i could stop drugging myself so much, i am still on PIO shot, 2 prog supp, 2 estradiol pills, and baby aspirin! I know its not going to completely stop at once, but i hope i could cut down.

Neeta...Thank you for replying so quickly...I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that is measuring behind. I've been doing some reading, and the fact that they are growing is a good sign, and that only time will really tell. If they continue to grow adequately each week, the outcome is usually positive, but if they fall further behind, the prospects aren't great. I pray for the both of us that our next u/s shows active little ones that are growing and catching up like little troopers. Thanks again, and here's to both of us and our little fighters. Take care, Sweetie...

hey girls! charity i was measuring a several days behind at around six weeks according the the ultrasound tech she said 5 wk 2 days.... i was at six weeks exactly. doc said everything was perfects. they are so small right now there is a very SMALL margine for error. so don't worry. should be fine!!!!! i'm also on bedrest still from a bleeding episode last week. There is blood in my uterus? now it is also on the left side by one of the babies. they say bed rest will let it heal.
laurie have a great holiday and don't worry about vanishing twin. its where one twin stops growing and is reabsorbed. It is a small risk just like a bazillion other litle things. USUALLY once you see the heart beat it isn't as much of a risk. idont worry. your far enough along and doing great!
neeta and jipin: congrats on the twins!!!!!!
carebear: don't worry about the lack of symptoms.... my sis has had two unsymptomatic pregnancies. she never had m/s, not much heartburn, no nothing. She and the babies were fine and healty the whole way. I can NOT believe some idiot is telling you that it means or might mean miscarraige. that is ridiculous and you should tell them so. ( sorry for calling them idiots but they shouldn't be making you worry like that)

i'm on complete bedrest for another week. there is still more blood in my uterus this week.... although i've not had anymore bleeding. doc says its not great... but that it will most likely heal and fix itself on its own if i will do my part.
Also said to expect an early jan delievery .

My goodness Dixiegal...Here you are giving everyone (including me...Thank you thank you thank you), support and great advice, and you've got a world of worries going on yourself. You hang in there Dix, and all will be well...Thank you for sharing your measuring situation, too...It's giving me so much more hope. The RE has me scared sh*tless right now...I know he wasn't trying to worry me too much, but certainly didn't give me a lot to go on...Basically, left me to suffer for a week...You and Neeta are helping save my sanity. Thank you both again!!

charity, your welcome... just keep remembering that we already beat the biggest obstacle and try and enjoy being pregnant. I say right now we should stop worrying and just believe all will be well. I don't know about you girls.... but the anxiety certainly isn't helping my nausea LOL.!!!!

The fact of the matter is..... If we hadn't had to go to such extremes to get pregnant.... we wouldn't be nearly as worried. My first pregnancy was a complete shock and I didn't even get an ultrasound till about 12 weeks. I probably had the same problems then as now... only i didnt know it because i wasn't being monitored so close. so..... i say , sit back, relax, and lets enjoy being pampered!.!!!!! Believe me it will come to an end all to soon!!!!! :)
oh... by the way the good news is that the babies now measure 30mm each!!!! and we could see them moving around today i swear they were waving at us. It was the neatest thing.
