AMY - trust me you are not alone! The same exact thing happened to me a year ago. I was so jealous and even angry - I never told a soul how I felt. I am of course happy for her now and love my new nephew. But it took me along time to get that way.
We will continue to think positve ... I keep thinking to myself ... "Wouldn't it be funny if I was pregnant this month and did not need to do IVF!" So typical of me - even though my Dr. said it would be hard to get pregnant natrually for me I still get my hopes up! UUUGGGG

I am glad to se this thread! I am on bc pills now - since Thurs. I will take them until the 15th and then spend 4 days doing nothing. After that, I will start my stimulation drugs on Aug. 20th. I am a teacher and I am freaking out about possible having to miss the 1st day of school! My 1st IVF cycle was cancelled due to poor response (I thought we were only dealing with a male issue, but now I am worried. This cycle my Follistem will be 450 and they have removed Lupron from my meds. I am hopeful! Good luck to everyone!
Thanks everyone for the welcome. I pray for everyone to have baby blessings. It is only because of faith & support that we have made it through everything. We haven't told our families because my mother & father can't hold water (hahaha) and we can't stand to see them disappointed anymore. Also, I'm tired of people feeling sorry for us.
Amy & Everyone,
I know what you mean about seeing people who are preg. It's like you aren't mad that they are preg, but because you are not. I feel you. It's natural and we are human and don't feel guilty about it.

Good luck. I am a high school counselor so I'm nervous about missing time, too. We tried to start earlier in the summer, but we changed doctors and it pushed us back 2 months. However...it all happens for a reason and it's in GOD's time with a little help from the RE, Lab techs, Pharmacy, IVF Coord, etc. (hahahaha). I feel good about being preg this time and even when I get nervous, I think..."I've come too far to be weak now" and so have ALL OF YOU!
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I feel like the days are creeping by while I'm on BC...1 wk down, 2 to go.

It sounds like you have great family support. That makes a huge difference when you are going through a loss and a birth. I'll keep you in my thoughts.
Although I am a July/August Cyclee, I think I belong to this group more just because I feel the other group is way ahead of me. Hope you don't mind.
This is my 1st IVF/ICSI due to male factor infertility. I started on Balziva (oral contraceptives) in mid July and have just started my Lupron injection this morning!! I was so nervous the last few days and I couldn't fall asleep last night. But guess what? It's not that bad really. The injection itself was fairly easy and aside from the pinching of my tummy, I didn't even feel the poking. Trust me. If I can do it, you can do it My IVF-person was very supportive and she prescribed me with some numbing cream just in case I need it, especially when I am doing the stimmulating meds. She said those will sting a bit.
I am so happy to have found you guys. Let's support each other through this process. I will pray for you all.

Thanks for your babydust. I caught them all!!! hehehe...
The numbing cream is to numb the area of the injection site an hour prior to injection so when you do the injection later, it won't hurt as much. The stimming meds sting more than the Lupron because you are going to be mixing the the meds with sodium chloride. As you know, sodium chloride is salt water and it will sting (that's according to my doc). I am picking up the cream tomorrow at my pharmacy. I will be able to tell you the name of the cream then.

Lala do you have the progesterone "suppositories" or the shots? I will have to take the suppositories and I was told to use something other than my finger to insert them. Just thinking to myself "what else would I use? and were would I buy something like that!?" hehe

I'd love to join your group here. My husband and I have been working at this baby thing for about 2.5 years. We started an IVF cycle last month, but it was unfortunately cancelled.
But, try, try again!
Amy, I hear you about your attitude toward pregnant ladies and people with babies. My cousin is coming to visit this month with her beloved angel child, and I just really don't want to be a part of the festivities. But I'll just suck it up and probably have an extra slice of baptism cake in the process.
Lacy, my doctor just switched over to the suppositories (hip-hop-hooray!) I was not looking forward to the big a$$ shots. I used the suppositories previously when attempting IUI and they're no big deal.
I continue to laugh at the instructions on my progesterone suppository box: Take 1 tablet per vagina. As if anyone has more than one.
Anyway, sorry for the rambling. It's nice to meet you all, and I hope we all have success!

08/16/07 - Started Lupron

lace I am not sure which one I will be using; but I was told I would use one or the other, depending on the situation. Have you had your RE already? I thought you don't need it until after that?
How's everyone else doing? I had my second Lupron shot today and it went really well. No pain and not as scared...

I had to order all my medicine at once due to ins company. So I got two BIG boxes of medicine delivered to my house last week. My doctor (RE) wanted to make sure I had at least my BCP to start once I start my period (which should start this Sunday).
Hi there Julieboo - welcome to the support group! hehe I love your comment about the suppositories! Reminds me of the warning label on my tampon box "remove packaging before inserting!" WOW - that is scary because you know there is a reason they had to put that warning on there!

hey ladies how is everyone doing
i havent been on for a couple a days and the thread really grew that is great the more of us the better.
you know something you guys even though i have kids and i see other pregant women i am not upset by seeing them but i look at them and be like i wish it was me right now or i cant wait until it happens to me and you know something i dont even remeber what it feels like i am so serious my my youngest is 7 the only thing i really remeber is the labor pains and i have a freind of mine who is pregant and you know what she wasnt trying and she didnt want anymore she is 36.
i hope my next cycle works for me i really want this.
lace7725 i see our situation is really almost the same its really hard when your husband doesnt have and you really want to give him one its like my husband he is so great with my kids its unbelievable somebody ask him if those are his kids he doesnt hesate for a second he says yes but i know it hurts he told me one time that he wish my daughter was really his. and lace when you put in the suppositories they should send you a stick where you put the suppositories at the end and you push it up in there sorry not trying to be so graphic.
juliboo i thought the same thing when i read the directions lOL
i feel like its not going to happen this is going to be my 3rd cycle after that i only have one more try if it doesnt work my last cycle i was really stressed out i mean to the point i am not scared of needles and they never bothered me in any of my other cycles but the last one everytime i got the injections tears came out my eyes i felt like i couldnt do it again.
i could start this month but labor day is coming and i dont want to be depressed if it comes out negative. and i cant tell nobody i just have you guys.
but enough of the depressing writing i wish all you guys alot of baby dust.
o i have a questions for the ladies who take birth control before you start how come you guys take them during a cycle?
lace I picked up my numbing cream from the pharmacy today and the name of the cream is LIDOC/PRILOC 2.5-2. It's "a local anesthetic used to numb the skin to pain from injections and other medical procedures". You are supposed to apply to the injection site one hour prior to injection. Like I said, my doc gave it to me just in case the stimming stings too much.
cheekskuss It's so true what you said. I often feel so alone about this IVF thing. My DH and I decided to not tell anyone other than our moms. Sigh... That's why I am so thankful this forum exists. I find a lot of comfort reading you guys' messages. Thanks for doing that.
Good luck everyone.
