i don't know much about the fet yet i still have to call to scedule my post cycle appt. but they overstimulated me and my 1st ivf was also canceled in june- nice 1000.00 bill!! then round two we did the transfer 7-20, but i got my period twelve days later. my husband wants to wait a little longer to see if maybe it took anyway. so i agreed. after that we should start soon planning for the fet. i do like midwest alot dr rueter is very good. i live in bedford so i have a 2hr drive when i go. how about you? if you find out about the process for the fet transfer let me know. and keep me updated. best of luck to you.!!! :D

Getting ready to start

Post by mbarnhart »

Hello, I noticed you are both from Indiana and I'm looking for some advice/someone to talk to other than my husband! I did IVF a couple of years ago and had an early term miscarriage. Im looking to find a new doctor...maybe one that does shared risk.
This is the hardest thing I have ever been through and am very scared to try again but I've reached a point where I absolutely have to.
I'm truly sorry to hear you had a miscarriage on your attempt watts and know that if you need to talk, I'm here.

Melissa,
Midwest Fertility in Carmel does have shared risk. I don't know where you live in Indiana, but they also have an office in Ft. Wayne. My company did research and these were the best doctors they could find in the state to send me to. Even though it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, I really do feel like I got the best care possible. The drs and staff are so professional and you really do feel like you are their only patient. Please let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!

I live in Greenwood and our last IVF was in Carmel too. Thank you so much for the information. I am definitely going to check them out. Did you do the shared risk?

I REALLY LIKE MID WEST AND THEY ARE THE BEST IN THE STATE AND WITH HIGHEST SUCCESS RATE IN THE STATE. EVEN THOUGH MINE TOO DIDN'T GO AS PLANNED.
UNFORTUNALLY I DID NOT DO THE SHARED RISK- AND I WISH I HAD!!! NOW WE HAVE TO SPEND ANOTHER 4500.00 OR MORE TO DO THE FET. AND IF THAT DON'T WORK WE WILL BE OUT EVEN MORE MONEY.
WE HAVE DECIDED THOUGH IF THE FET DOESN'T WORK WE WOULD WAIT AWHILE GET SOME BILLS DOWN AND THEN DO THE SHARED RISK THAT WAY WE WON'T HAVE TO WORRY AS MUCH.
INSTEAD OF ONE CHANCE WE WILL HAVE 6 CHANCES MUCH BETTER ODDS.
BUT I'D RATHER THE FET WORK SO I WON'T HAVE TO WAIT AS LONG TO HOLD A BABY.

Midwest

Post by mbarnhart »

I entered my information online to have Midwest contact me and have heard nothing as of yet, but I just did it on Friday evening. We are definitely going to look into the shared risk. Not sure how it will works or the cost. Hopefully, I will hear something soon so we can get the show on the road!

the shared risk is considerable higher but the cost of 2 failed ivfs with the single plan and your almost there with the shared plus withthe shared if it for some reason never works aleast you get some of your money back instead of nothing. i'm 29 yrs old and they said i had great chances of concieving the first try- little did i know i would take more than once!! but everyone is differnt as well.
For me i'd wish i had gone with the shared. i finaced 14000.00 for the first ivf and the fet will be around 4000-4500.00 and i would be around the same price as the shared. plus if my embies don't make it through the defrosting stage- here we go again.
For me shared is better. less pressure!!
but good luck to you and i hope your baby dreams come true soon!!! and if you have any questions feel free to ask and i 'll answer best i can.

when will you find out about the frozens and when do you have them implanted? I hope so much that they work for you so you dont have to go through it all again.
