Hi, this is the first time I am posting a message. I am 40 and trying IVF for the first time. I am on Lupron right now and will start FSH shots in two days. We've been TTC for a few years on our own and an additional year with the help of a specialist. My husband has low sperm count and I have Factor V Leiden, a genetic blood disorder that can cause clotting. We did 6 IUI treaments. I was pregnant on the 4th try but miscarried at 8 weeks. We decided to go to IVF now due to my age. I am feeling a bit discouraged. It helps to hear success stories from women my age. There must be some out there.

and a massive welcome to the board!!!! i'm not over 40 but there is an "over 40 crowd" thread on the general forum. you may want to join that.

so sorry to hear about your m/c but the best of luck for your cycle. dont be discouraged!! there are plenty of over 40s that have gotten pregnant on here!

I too am new to the board. I just wanted to say hello and best wishes. I'm 36 and am working on my 3rd IVF cycle. The first 2 were BFNs.

Hi Shawn,
I've got to give you credit. This is only my first time and I am finding it mentally exhuasting. I've heard so many times that people kept at it and eventually were successful. Maybe this will be your turn. Do you have any tips on staying calm/sane through this whole thing? So far this message board is helping. Best wishes-chriss
