Ways to increase fertility - while on stims

Post by sciteacher77 »

Hello,

I am on my second IVF cycle. My 1st was cancelled before retrieval due to poor response . Now I am on BC pills again and wondering if anyone knows of anything that can increase your response while on stims? Someone mentioned Robutussin to me. Has anyone heard of this? How much do you take and for how long? I am going to try accupuncture a few times as well. Any input would be great! Thanks!!!

My clinic has a big push for a certain diet. It is really for people with PCOS I believe, but apparently has had luck increasing the quality of your cycle. Try www.californiaivf.com and see if it is on there. Dr. Z recommends low to no sugars, carbs, yogurt, beer, potatoes, and a few other things. I like the diet as it made sense nutritionally. It works on your insulin and helps your body produce the appropriate chemical response. It cant hurt!

All the best,
amy

Did your 1st protocol include lupron?? My 1st cycle was canceled due to only 2 follicles...the lupron way over suppressed me. This cycle I have 13 follicles!!

I am also doing acupuncture, including electro-acupuncture & 1 baby aspirin daily.

From what i understand Robustin is to help with cervical mucus not egg production. The theory i believe is to thin out the cervical mucus so that the sperm can travel easier to their destination.
Sometimes just changing the meds you used will help with egg production. Each person is different and responds to meds differently. I would ask you do for different stims if you do ivf again. Good luck bridget
