Hi all,

I am also a first time IVF-er. I have been on Balziva (oral contraceptives) since two weeks ago and will be starting the Lupron injections next Monday. I received all the meds and syringes in the mail yesterday. To tell you the truth, I am very scared. I am also very worried that things won't work. But at the same time, I am very excited that we are finally heading down a path that gives us more success. Both my husband and I have been disappointed many times. We have only been married for a year and we both want to have babies asap. We have had three IUI's and they all failed because of pretty significant male factor infertility. The docs did all kinds of tests on me and I seem to be pretty healthy. I am also on the young side so they said I should have about a 60-75% chance getting pregnant through IVF with sperm injection :D

I am very relieved to finally have the guts to share my story with someone and simply to talk about it. I am also very thankful that there are women out there like yourselves who support people like me. Thanks.
Best of luck to everyone!

Wannababy! Congratulations on your baby girl Olivia! It is a beautiful name! It was one of my favorites. I think C-section is not really too bad as well. I hope all is going well!
Sam, Suzhan, how are things going? I am so happy we are here in a year and having so many babies!

Lala,

It is true, we are all or have been in the same boat. I remember the day all the meds arrived. I was so scared and excited. I actually went to a therapist that did this tapping thing because I am/was that afraid of needles. I used to cry or pass out whenever I was near a needle. To this day, I never looked at the needle, my husband had to do every injection. After week two it became part of my day that I hardly reacted. You get used to it. Also, in my opinion, it is better that it is a male factor. I was fertile and able to hold a pregnancy without issues. I think that made us successful the first time around. Also, if you get some to freeze (we did not) the pressue is slightly off so you have a back up just in case you get a BFN. Anyhow, we are getting ready to explore our options for baby number two. We are trying surgery then IVF

Good luck and take care. I just gor back fromt he pool with my adorable three month old IVF baby

Hi Ladies - I knew that it had been awhile since I was last visited this thread but I had no idea about how much I missed. I can't stay away this long again. Welcome to all of the new members of the thread.

Emily - Congratulations on your BFP! I am so happy for you. I hope you are doing well and are not experiencing any morning sickness.

Wannababy - Congratulations to you as well. When I read what you had named your daughter, I nearly fell out of my chair. That is the same name my DH and I picked for a girl if we are ever to have one. What a coincidence! I hope both mom and daughter are doing well.

Suzhan - Glad to hear that little Elise is home with you. It must be so nice to not have to run back and forth between home and the hospital.

Lola - How are the twins doing? I hope you have been able to get some rest. The twins are obviously doing well based upon the fact that they are gaining weight nicely. Glad to hear that your mother-in-law comes to help, that must make things a bit easier on you.

Sam - I can't believe that Sidney is over three months old already. I think it is so exciting that you are already starting to think about your next one. Best of luck with whatever path you choose to take (surgery vs ivf).

Mia - How are you doing? I hope things are well with you.

As for me, I had my third round of ivf which we started mid July. We had the retrieval on July 22nd and I got a BFP. I was very apprehensive this cycle because for us, we have two hurdles. One is to get pregnant (which we were able to do :D) and the second is to make it past six weeks. The last two times I m/c, it happened at 6 weeks. So I am still apprehensive but definitely happy. I think once we make it past 6 weeks, I'll relax a bit more but knowing me, I'll probably not rest until I deliver.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Well ladies - I was doing great until I went in for my first u/s this morning. The DR said that the baby is only a quarter the size that it should be at this stage and that there wasn't a heartbeat. So, I can either have a D&C to make this quick or let nature take it's course. Which could be up to five weeks. So, I am a wreck of course. It was much easier looking back at my last 2 miscarriages becuase atleast I was bleeding and such. I am not choosing the D&C route. In my heart, I just can't do it. If GOD wants me to have a miscarriage it's going to happen naturally. So, please keep us in your prayers! I'll keep you posted!

Emily - I am so sorry!. I can understand about not wanting to go the d&c route. Is your doctor going to do any tests to see why you have had multiple miscarriages? You are in my thoughts and I wish you all of the best.

emily,

I am so sorry, I cried when I read your message. At does not seem fair and from my perspective, it felt/looked different this time. I think I would do the same as far as the M/C goes. My heart goes out to you. I hope the doctors sit down with you and explain/figure out why this happens and what your next step should be. Hang in there and I am thinking of you.

Myhb- keep me posted so I also know when to breath a sigh of relief for you.

I get so invested in your processes and am waiting praying for all

Love,

Sam

Hi All- I am still just waiting for something to happen. My last 2 miscarriages were so much easier because I was bleeding. With me feeling fine and in fact my prego symptoms have gotten worse if anything. It just seems so hard to comprehend. I have read a lot of articles about tilted uterus and such. So, I am being realistic but still there is some hope that maybe there is an embie hanging out back there! Who knows, until I start bleeding, I am praying that GOD has a miracle with my name on it!
