newbie on 2ww

hi I'm new to this site, actually this is the first time I've joined a forum 'cause I can't do it alone anymore. DH and I have been ttc for about 3 years now. I'm 29 he's 32. There's no male factor, just me

(PCOS) but we finally got pregnant back in March but I mc at 4 weeks (after that we just decided not to tell anyone about our attempts until a few months into the pregnancy, if it ever happens again), had a failed FET in June and just had a fresh ET this past Sunday. I'm due back for my test on 08/17 and I'm kinda dreading it 'cause it also happens to be my birthday that day, I'm afraid of getting news that I don't want to hear. So now I'm just trying to make it through this next week. But I broke down today and had a hpt since it's been 9 days since I took the hcg shot. I know it's a little early, but I did it before on the last (failed FET) cycle around day 8 or 9 and it was a negative but today it's a positive I don't know what to make of it yet. So I'll try to wait and do it again in a couple of days. Wish me luck.

Hi Welsh, actually I took the hcg on tues 7/31 and did retrieval on 8/02 and had 3d transfer on 8/05 . . so by my calculations today's been ten days since I took it. . I thought it would have been out of my system by now and tested positive last night . . so I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed . . maybe I'll test again tonight and see what happens

actually Welsh retrieval and fertilization was done of 8/02 so embies are only about 8 days old now. I took the hcg shot 2 days before the retrieval

Hi- I am on the exact same cycle as you. I had the HGG shot on 7/31 Er on 5/2 and et on 5/5. My beta test is also 8/17. How do you feel? I feel like AF is coming. I have the same cramps I usually get just before and I have not bought a hpt yet. I don't think I am going to. I am trying to be positive but it is hard! Good luck!

Hi Sue, glad to hear from you . . so we're on the same boat . . I feel like AF is coming too, had cramps and heartburn for 3 days after et but they're milder now, tender breasts and mild headaches but they could also be from the progesterone, let me tell you don't let that fool you 'cause I had a fresh et back in March and was all depressed because I thought AF was coming 'cause I usually have these same symptoms but I was wrong so I try not to make anything of these symptoms anymore . . but I'll be praying for both of us . . but is this ur first ivf cycle?

Yes this my first IVF cycle, Husband has severely LS so we were told to do IVF. How are you with the progesterone shots? They are not as bad as I thought they would be. But besides the cramps I have no symptoms. I know this is when your mind plays games. 8/17 can not come soon enough!

I'm not taking the progesterone shots. Because DH didn't have the heart to give me the shots in my bum I had to administer them myself in the thighs and I hit the sciatic nerve in my left thigh once last cycle so they took me off the shots. Now I'm taking Prometrium (progesterone pills) and the suppositories. I don't think I going to wait until 8/17 for the test though (I don't wanna get any bad news on my birthday, especially not the day I turn 30) so I'm going to ask them to do it the day before. I hear even if you don't show any symptoms you could still be pregnant that's why they don't want you to stop your meds until they test you. So just cross every thing and hope for the best. We have to stay positive at least until that day.

Hi want2bmom, it was positive but my hcg level was very low (see the numbers below) they thought it was ectopic and I had to take a mtx shot so now I'm waiting for AF to start again. I guess because of the PCOS my prolactin levels were kinda high, so they checked the levels again today to see if I need to take something to bring it down and they also gave me a lupron shot over the weekend to bring down my androgens levels so we'll see what happens. When is your IVF? Hope everything goes well for you. No matter what don't lose hope.
